Alongside the Hualien REAP Forum 2026, Certis and GuangTai Green Energy Co., Ltd. signed an MOU to explore practical cooperation in distributed clean energy and micro hydropower in Nigeria.

The cooperation will begin with identifying and assessing potential sites, followed by feasibility studies, demonstration systems, technical validation, research, training and knowledge exchange.

For irrigated farming, the potential significance is considerable. Micro hydropower could reduce farmersโ€™ reliance on petrol powered water pumps, helping lower irrigation costs and food production expenses while supporting more consistent access to water for farming throughout the day.

Following the initial technical assessment, both parties will explore opportunities for wider application and future commercial cooperation.

An important step towards turning international connections into practical clean energy solutions for Nigeria.

What happens when innovators, entrepreneurs, policymakers, researchers and ecosystem builders from different parts of the world come together around a shared ambition?

The Hualien REAP Forum 2026 brought these perspectives together in Hualien City, Taiwan.

Across two days, the Forum explored how regions can build stronger innovation ecosystems by connecting government, research institutions, academia, entrepreneurs, capital and global networks.

The conversations moved across mission driven innovation, deep tech, sustainability, the wellbeing economy, agriculture, health, life sciences and cross border collaboration.

It was a meeting point for ideas, people and possibilities.

Certis was part of the Hualien REAP Forum 2026, bringing a Nigerian perspective into conversations on innovation, entrepreneurship, sustainability and the development of regional ecosystems.

Founded a decade ago, Certis has since expanded its work and ventures across areas including renewable energy, agriculture, waste management and consulting.

Our participation in Hualien was significant because the Forum created a space for organisations, entrepreneurs, government stakeholders, researchers and ecosystem builders from different parts of the world to exchange ideas and explore opportunities for collaboration.

For Certis, this engagement provided an opportunity to connect Nigeriaโ€™s innovation and sustainability ambitions with international perspectives and emerging opportunities in clean energy and regional development.

The conversations in Hualien City would go on to open the door to a new area of cooperation between Nigeria and Taiwan.

Kano State just got a new partner in sustainability!

We're proud to partner with the Kano State Ministry of Water Resources, Environment and Climate Change to build a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Kano.

This partnership marks a major step in turning waste management from a basic public service into a commercially viable system that creates real environmental and economic value.

Certis will bring technical expertise to modernize waste management systems, mobilize climate finance, strengthen the running of Effluent Treatment Plants, and help develop a full Drainage Masterplan for Kano State.

Alongside our deep-tech partner, Zero Bola, we'll use circular economy solutions to unlock value from waste, drive innovation, and deliver practical, scalable results.

Winnie Byanyima said it plainly, and she was right. This is not a conversation for later. It is not a policy aspiration or a donor talking point.
