Sudanese Ambassador to Nigeria Pays Courtesy Visit to Elrazi Medical University, Kano

Elrazi Medical University, Kano, had the honour of receiving the Ambassador of the Republic of the Sudan to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Amb. Mohamed Abdelaal Haroun, who paid a courtesy visit to the University alongside Mr. Adil Awadelseed, Sudanese Diplomat, and other distinguished members of the Sudanese delegation.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ahmed Osman Hassan Rizig, together with the University’s Principal Officers and members of Management. The visit underscored the University’s commitment to strengthening the longstanding educational and diplomatic ties between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Republic of the Sudan.
In his welcome address, the Vice-Chancellor expressed his delight at hosting the Ambassador and his delegation, while reaffirming Elrazi Medical University’s dedication to academic excellence, quality medical education, cutting-edge research, innovation, and the development of globally competitive healthcare professionals. He also highlighted the University’s commitment to fostering strategic international collaborations that promote excellence in medical education and healthcare delivery.
Speaking during the visit, Ambassador Mohamed Abdelaal Haroun commended the remarkable achievements of Elrazi Medical University within its relatively short period of establishment. He praised the University’s impressive infrastructure, high academic standards, modern learning environment, and unwavering commitment to producing competent healthcare professionals capable of addressing Africa’s evolving healthcare challenges.
The Ambassador further emphasized the importance of strengthening educational cooperation between Sudan and Nigeria, particularly in the areas of higher education, medical training, collaborative research, faculty exchange, student mobility, and capacity development. He expressed confidence that Elrazi Medical University would continue to serve as a vital bridge for academic, professional, and cultural collaboration between the two nations.
The visit also provided an opportunity for productive discussions on areas of mutual interest, including institutional partnerships, joint research initiatives, staff and student exchange programmes, and strategies aimed at enhancing healthcare education and professional development.
Following the meeting, the Sudanese delegation embarked on a guided tour of the University’s facilities, including its modern lecture halls, laboratories, simulation centres, the newly constructed Dental Building, and other ongoing infrastructural development projects. The delegation expressed admiration for the University’s rapid growth, state-of-the-art facilities, and visionary approach to medical education.
The visit concluded with the exchange of goodwill messages, reaffirming the shared commitment of both parties to strengthening educational, diplomatic, and institutional partnerships for the advancement of medical education, research, and quality healthcare delivery.
