ANNOUNCEMENT OF PARTICIPATING INSTITUTIONS 📢🔬

The leadership of the Anatomical Students' Society of Nigeria, Bayero University, Kano (ASSON-BUK) is pleased to announce the confirmed participation of the following ASSON chapters as our partner institutions for this year's two-day event, comprising the Anatomy Workshop and the Prof. M. G. Taura Inter-University Anatomical Quiz Competition, held in celebration of World Anatomy Day.

ASSON-BUK WELCOMES STUDENTS BACK TO CAMPUS FOR SECOND SEMESTER, 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION

The Anatomical Students' Society of Nigeria, Bayero University, Kano (ASSON-BUK) warmly welcomes all Anatomy students back to campus for the Second Semester of the 2025/2026 academic session, as academic activities commence on Monday, 7th September, 2026.

The President, Comr. Abubakar Salisu Kazaure, on behalf of the Society, extends his best wishes to all students and urges them to resume promptly so as not to disrupt the academic calendar. He further commended the efforts of the Head of Department, Prof. Abdullahi Gudaji, for ensuring that the lecture timetable was released without delay.

The Society encourages students to approach the new semester with renewed focus and discipline — prioritizing regular class attendance, effective time management, and early engagement with coursework — as these habits are key to sustained academic excellence.

ASSON-BUK remains committed to strengthening academic excellence and fostering students' welfare.

Your spine doesn't plug directly into your organs like wires, but it's the main highway that connects your brain to almost everything in your body Inside the spine is the spinal cord, and branching out from it between each vertebra are spinal nerves. Those nerves travel to your heart, lungs, stomach, liver, kidneys, intestines, and basically every organ to carry signals back and forth. That's how your brain tells your stomach to digest, tells your lungs to breathe, and gets pain or status updates from your organs. The spine also protects the spinal cord, so if it gets damaged, those messages can get slowed down or messed up, which is why back injuries can affect things like digestion, breathing, or bladder control too

🚨CALL FOR PAPERS: ANATOMICA 2.0 (2ND EDITION)

The Anatomical Students’ Society of Nigeria, Bayero University, Kano Chapter (ASSON-BUK) invites researchers, scholars, and students to submit original research papers and articles for publication in the 2nd Edition of its annual magazine, ANATOMICA 2.0, scheduled for release on Saturday, 14th November 2026.

Submission Guidelines

All submitted papers must adhere strictly to the following criteria:

Scope: Submissions must reflect original research work in any field of anatomy or the medical sciences.

Length & Keywords: Structured papers/articles must not exceed 250 words and must include 3–5 keywords.

Formatting:

Language: English

Format: Soft copy (PDF or Microsoft Word)

Spacing & Font: Double-line spacing, Times New Roman, Font size 10

Author Details: Include full author name(s), institutional affiliation, email address, and phone number. Use an asterisk (*) to designate the corresponding author.

Presentation Mode: Indicate in brackets whether the presentation will be physical or virtual—e.g., (Physical) or (Virtual).
