This is to inform all schools experiencing challenges with the Private and Voluntary Board that they should report immediately to the nearest NECO State Office.

Prompt attention is necessary to fast-track your SSCE registration process and avoid late registration penalties.

*What to do:*
1. Visit your NECO State Office with relevant school documents and details of the issue.
2. Meet the designated desk officer for Private & Voluntary Board matters.
3. Resolve all pending issues before the registration deadline.

Do not wait until the last minute. Ensure your candidates are duly registered.

Keep children away. If it touches skin, rinse immediately with water and vinegar.
Step-by-Step Local Cold-Process Bar Soap Making (Small Batch for Beginners)
This is adapted from traditional Nigerian village/small-scale methods used in trainings and schools.b21012dff18a
Materials (for ~20–30 bars, easy for students):

Palm oil (or mix with palm kernel oil) — 16 litres (or scale down to 2–4 litres for classroom practice)
Caustic soda (NaOH) — 1.5 kg (or 200–250g for small batch)
Cold water — 4 litres (or 750–1000 ml for small batch)
Optional additives for toilet soap (like the pink bars in our photo):
Colorant (pink/red food-grade or soap dye) — a few drops
Fragrance/perfume or essential oil (rose, lemon, etc.)

Soda ash (optional for harder soap) — 250g
Wooden mold/frame (exactly like in your image — lined with cloth or plastic)
Wooden stirrer, thermometer, gloves, cutting wire/knife
Process:

Prepare the lye solution (do this first, the day before if possible):

Pour cold water into a plastic or wooden bowl. Slowly add caustic soda to the water (never water into caustic soda — it can explode or splash). Stir gently.

It will get very hot and release fumes. Let it cool completely (1–2 hours) until it reaches room temperature.
