The School of Continuing Education and Postgraduate Studies (SCEPS), Kano State Polytechnic, has organized a one-day Capacity-Building Workshop for Programme Coordinators aimed at strengthening academic administration and promoting excellence in coordination, examination, and result management.

The workshop, held on Wednesday, 5th August 2026, at the CIBN Banking Hall, School of Management Studies, Kano State Polytechnic, themed: โ€œElevating Academic Integrity: Excellence in Coordination, Examination and Result Management.โ€

The workshop commenced with a welcome address by the Director, School of Continuing Education and Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Ramatu Adamu Muhammed, who warmly welcomed the Polytechnic Management, resource persons, invited guests, and programme coordinators to the event.

Dr. Ramatu described the workshop as a timely initiative designed to enhance the capacity of Programme Coordinators, whom she described as the โ€œOperational Engine Roomโ€ of the School.
She noted that the theme of the workshop reflects the Polytechnicโ€™s commitment to quality assurance, academic integrity, and excellence.

She emphasized three critical areas requiring continuous improvement: effective programme coordination, strict adherence to examination ethics, and accurate result compilation. She urged coordinators to uphold professionalism, fairness, transparency, and precision in the discharge of their responsibilities, stressing that these values are essential to safeguarding the integrity of the Polytechnicโ€™s academic programmes and certificates.

The Director further encouraged participants to actively engage in the workshop by sharing their experiences, asking questions, and mastering standard operating procedures aimed at improving efficiency and minimizing administrative lapses.

In his remarks, the Rector, Dr. Abubakar Umar Farouk, FCA, ably represented by the Deputy Rector (Academic), Engr. Dr. Ibrahim Usman Aikawa, commended the for organizing the workshop, describing Programme Coordinators as key stakeholders in ensuring effective academic administration.

He emphasized that academic integrity, professionalism, and accountability are fundamental to effective programme coordination, examination management, and result processing.

The Deputy Rector informed participants of the Polytechnicโ€™s planned migration to the E-Portal Result Processing System, urging coordinators to maintain accurate digital records, embrace technology, and ensure strict confidentiality in handling studentsโ€™ academic information.

He also stressed the importance of strict compliance with examination regulations, prompt reporting of examination malpractice, and a zero-tolerance approach to any act capable of compromising the integrity of the institution.

Dr. Aikawa expressed confidence that the workshop would significantly enhance the capacity of Programme Coordinators, standardize academic processes, strengthen academic integrity, and facilitate the successful implementation of the Polytechnicโ€™s digital result management system.

He encouraged the participants to actively participate in all sessions, share knowledge and experiences, and utilize the opportunity to improve their professional competence before officially declaring the workshop open.

The workshop brought together relevant stakeholders and Programme Coordinators from Kano State Polytechnic, providing a platform for knowledge sharing, professional development, and improved understanding of best practices in academic coordination, examination administration, and result management.
