Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers Student Affiliate - Nice'sa NW ZONE

We are thrilled to announce our outstanding achievements at the recently concluded NICE Annual General Meeting and Conference, held at Obi Wali Conference Center, Port Harcourt.

Under the leadership of Comr. Ammar Hamisu Sulaiman, NICE'SA Northwest Zone secured second place in the Group Dynamics Competition, a prestigious contest among the six zones of NICE'SA.
Isah Muhammad Shehu from Bayero University Kano also secured first position in the Students Eco-Friendly Challenge Competition.

This remarkable success is a source of immense pride for our team. Congratulations to everyone!

Yesterday, August 31st, 2024, the leadership of NICE'SA Northwest organized a technical session on the 'Relevance of GIS to Civil Engineering' at the Kano State Ministry of Works and Housing.
The presenter, Dr. Mohammed Ahmed, shared his vast knowledge and experience with students. He also advised civil engineering students on how to explore other opportunities, especially in GIS. This was followed by a discussion and a question and answer session.

In the hallowed halls of the NICE'SA Northwest Zone, a narrative unfolds—a tale of two exceptional leaders, Ibrahim Muhammad and Abdurrahman Abdulfatah, whose visionary journey has left an indelible mark on civil engineering education. This narrative is one of gratitude and appreciation, a tribute to the architects of change who dedicated themselves to serving not only the Civil Engineering family but humanity at large.

It all began with a shared dream—to create an environment conducive to learning for students across the Northwest Zone and, indeed, the entire nation. Muhammad and Abdulfatah, leaders of high esteem, embarked on a mission to bridge the gap between academia and industry, a task that required nothing short of visionary thinking.

Through the lens of dedication, they conceptualized a plan to realize their vision, tirelessly navigating through their busy schedules. The path they treaded was not without challenges, as storms, obstacles, and doubts cast shadows on their ambitious dream. Yet, in the face of adversity, they remained resolute, embodying the wisdom of John Wooden: "Don't give up on your dreams, or your dreams will give up on you."

Today, we stand in awe of the fruits of their labor—the NICE'SA Northwest Zone transformed into a bastion of educational excellence. The growth, development, and advancement witnessed within the zone and the broader NICE'SA community are a testament to the enduring legacy of Muhammad and Abdulfatah.

These two luminaries set a benchmark that reverberates far beyond the Northwest Zone. Their contributions have become a guiding light for other zones across the nation and even the national body of NICE'SA. In addressing the needs of students, they innovated, leaving behind a blueprint for success that others have readily adopted.
