Key principle: Think natural, not perfect.

Example: "What kind of hobbies are popular in your country?" Band 7: "Well, uhm, I think football, or soccer as some call it, is incredibly popular. You see it everywhere – kids playing in the parks, matches on TV. And, I suppose, reality TV is pretty big too, although I personally don't get the appeal. It's definitely a national pastime for many." Notice the use of "uhm," "I suppose," and varied vocabulary like "incredibly popular," "national pastime," and the alternative name "soccer." This makes it sound natural and demonstrates a good range of language.

Another example: "Describe a time you had to learn a new skill." Band 7: "Okay, so, I'm going to tell you about when I had to learn how to use a specific software at work. It was...it was a project management tool, and honestly, I was dreading it! It seemed so complicated at first. I spent a lot of time watching tutorials and asking colleagues for help. It took me a few weeks, but eventually I got the hang of it. I even ended up becoming pretty proficient, which was a pleasant surprise! It really taught me the importance of perseverance." Shows use of natural fillers like "okay, so," and hesitant speech before expanding on the idea. Focus on elaborating the story, showing the process and personal feelings involved.
