Egyptian public university Kafrelsheikh University was established in 2006. There are over 30,000 students enrolled there as well as 1,500 faculty members. The buildings of the college had once been a part of Tanta University.
The institution, which is situated near Kafr-El-Sheikh in northern Egypt, features a cutting-edge campus with lots of vegetation. There are 19 faculties at Kafrelsheikh University, five of which are scientific, seven of which are devoted to health, and the remaining six are focused on the humanities. Three research institutes are also housed there: the Technical Institute of Nursing, the Institute of Drug Research and Development, and the Nano Science and Technology Institute.
A new medical complex being built by the university will house the faculties of medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, nursing, and physical therapy. A 400 bed, seven level hospital that sees 1,000 patients every day is now up and running. A cancer centre is among the subsequent steps.
According to the Global Green Metric ranking system, Kafrelsheikh University is the second most environmentally friendly institution in the Arab World. In terms of international research citations, it ranks fourth among the nation's universities, further enhancing its position as a research hub.
Agriculture in the area is well-known, especially for the cultivation of fish, rice, and sugar beet. In fact, Kafrelsheikh University's agriculture department was founded in the 1950s.
