Media Report on Iftar Feeding Outreach
In the spirit of compassion, unity, and service during the blessed month of Ramadan, the Muslim Corpers’ Association of Nigeria (MCAN), Kaduna State Chapter successfully organized an Iftar feeding outreach yesterday across selected mosques within Kaduna metropolis. The initiative was aimed at supporting fasting Muslims and strengthening the bond of brotherhood within the community.

The outreach took place simultaneously at the following locations:
Comilla Barracks Central Mosque
Kurmin Mashi Central mosque
Two other selected mosques within the state
During the program, MCAN members distributed Iftar meals to worshippers and community members present at the various mosques. The gesture was warmly received by the beneficiaries, many of whom expressed appreciation for the kindness and generosity shown by the association.
The Iftar outreach forms part of MCAN Kaduna’s Ramadan humanitarian activities, reflecting the association’s commitment to community service, compassion, and the promotion of Islamic values of charity and brotherhood. It also provided an opportunity for Muslim corps members to engage directly with the community, fostering stronger relationships and encouraging collective participation in acts of worship and service.
Speaking on the initiative, the leadership of MCAN Kaduna State Chapter emphasized that Ramadan is a period that encourages believers to extend kindness and support to others, particularly those in need. The association reaffirmed its dedication to organizing more impactful programs throughout the Ramadan period and beyond.

MCAN Expands Humanitarian Outreach Across Kaduna

In Collaboration with MCAN North West Zone and the National Ameer
In a remarkable demonstration of unity and service, the Muslim Corps Members Association of Nigeria (MCAN), Kaduna State Chapter, in collaboration with the MCAN North West Zone and led by the National Ameer of MCAN, embarked on a comprehensive humanitarian outreach across Kaduna State.

The visitation covered the Orphanage Home at Nasarawa Road, selected Islamic schools, and a solemn visit to a graveyard all aimed at reinforcing MCAN’s commitment to compassion, remembrance, and community development.
Orphanage Home Nasarawa Road, Kaduna

At the Orphanage Home located along Nasarawa Road, the MCAN delegation was warmly received by the management and children. The atmosphere was filled with joy and gratitude as members interacted closely with the children, offering words of encouragement, prayers, and emotional support.

The National Ameer emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in caring for vulnerable children, stressing that every child deserves love, dignity, and opportunity. Relief materials were presented to support the welfare and daily needs of the children, reinforcing MCAN’s dedication to sustainable humanitarian service.
The management of the orphanage expressed deep appreciation for the visit and prayed for the continued growth and success of the association.
Visit to the Graveyard

In a moment of reflection and spiritual consciousness, the delegation proceeded to a graveyard in Kaduna to offer prayers for departed souls.
The visit served as a solemn reminder of life’s transient nature and the ultimate accountability of every individual. Prayers were offered for forgiveness, mercy, and eternal peace for the deceased. The National Ameer reminded members of the importance of living purposeful and righteous lives, emphasizing that service to humanity remains one of the most enduring legacies.

Selected Islamic Schools in Kaduna

The outreach further extended to selected Islamic schools, where MCAN engaged students and educators in motivational and spiritual sessions.
Students were encouraged to pursue both Islamic and western education with dedication, discipline, and moral excellence. The delegation highlighted the role of knowledge in shaping responsible leaders and nation builders. The presence of the National Ameer inspired both students and staff, as he reaffirmed MCAN’s commitment to youth development and educational support.
Relief materials were distributed to support the schools and students, symbolizing MCAN’s practical contribution to academic and spiritual growth.

MCAN Kaduna State Chapter, in Collaboration with MCAN North West Zone, Pays Humanitarian Visit to Kaduna Correctional Centre and Yusuf Dantsoho Hospital
The Muslim Corps Members Association of Nigeria (MCAN), Kaduna State Chapter, in collaboration with the MCAN North West Zone, carried out a humanitarian outreach to the Kaduna Correctional Centre and Yusuf Dantsoho Hospital Kaduna, as part of its commitment to service, compassion, and community development.

At the Kaduna Correctional Centre, the MCAN delegation held an interactive session with inmates, delivering messages centered on hope, reform, and purposeful living.

The inmates were advised that incarceration does not mark the end of life’s journey. They were encouraged to embrace personal transformation, strengthen their faith, acquire beneficial skills, and prepare for a productive reintegration into society. The engagement was deeply impactful, as many inmates expressed that the words of encouragement renewed their hope and confidence in a better future.

The Imam of the Centre appreciated MCAN for consistently remembering and supporting vulnerable members of society. He prayed for the continuous growth and success of the association. He further appealed for legal assistance for some inmates whose offences are minor but who remain in custody due to lack of legal representation and delayed trial processes. He emphasized that access to legal support would greatly enhance their chances of obtaining fair and timely trials.

Relief materials were distributed to the inmates as part of the outreach, demonstrating MCAN’s commitment to both moral and material support.

Yusuf Dantsoho Hospital, Kaduna

The outreach continued at Yusuf Dantsoho Hospital where MCAN members visited patients in selected wards. Words of encouragement and prayers were offered to patients and their families, reminding them that illness is temporary and that perseverance, faith, and proper medical care remain key to recovery.
The visit brought comfort and joy to many patients, who expressed gratitude for being remembered during their time of need.
Relief materials were also presented to support patients and demonstrate solidarity with them.

MCAN Kaduna State Courtesy Visit to Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Gumi Key Outcomes

The Muslim Corpers’ Association of Nigeria (MCAN), Kaduna State Chapter, paid a courtesy visit to Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Abubakar Gumi as part of its ongoing engagement with respected Islamic scholars and stakeholders, aimed at strengthening the welfare, mentorship, and spiritual development of Muslim corps members in the state.

The visitation provided an avenue for constructive dialogue on the activities of MCAN Kaduna State, the challenges faced by Muslim corps members particularly in the area of accommodation and the broader role of scholars in guiding and supporting young Muslims during their service year.

A major outcome of the visit was the kind and timely intervention of Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Gumi, who graciously offered a temporary MCAN lodge to accommodate both brothers and sisters of the association. This generous support will significantly ease the accommodation challenges faced by Muslim corps members and enhance their comfort, safety, and moral environment during their period of service.

The leadership of MCAN Kaduna State Chapter expresses profound appreciation to Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Gumi for his fatherly counsel, prayers, and unwavering support for the cause of Islam and the welfare of Muslim youths. MCAN VISIT TO THE MINISTRY OF YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

The Permanent Secretary acknowledged the accommodation challenge.
Assurance was given that the government is actively working towards resolving the issue.
The Ministry appreciated MCAN’s visit and documentation of the concern.
Commitment was made to convey MCAN’s concerns to higher authorities in upcoming meetings.
It was clarified that beneficiaries of government intervention programmes may be selected randomly, not strictly through PPAs.
It was noted that many corps members currently rely on religious bodies for accommodation support.
