1. The Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (KADSUBEB) wishes to clarify issues raised through a recent press release issued by the Coalition of Primary School Teachers (CPST), alleging non-implementation of the minimum wage for primary school teachers. We hereby assert that these allegations are not only misleading but also fail to reflect the genuine efforts and commitment of the State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani, towards fulfilling all agreements reached on the subject matter with education stakeholders.
2. In accordance with the statutory provisions and the principles of collective bargaining, the State government has consistently engaged with the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) and other relevant stakeholders through various meetings, consultations, and technical sessions, fostering a cordial working relationship. This collaborative approach underscores our commitment to improving the welfare and working conditions of all our teachers.
3. The administration of The Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani has demonstrated sensitivity towards the welfare of teachers, recognizing their pivotal role in shaping the future of our children. This is evident in the recent resolution of a prolonged dispute and the release of N548 Million NUT-Endwell funds.
4. Furthermore, we wish to categorically state that the delay in the implementation of the minimum wage for teachers is largely due to the ongoing biometric staff verification exercise across the 23 Local Government Education Authorities (LGEAs). This exercise is aimed at ensuring accurate computation and payment of entitlements, auditing and verifying the payroll and ensuring that only genuine teachers are captured and paid.
5. It is also important to inform the general public that KADSUBEB has never been

Five takeaways from Buhariβs 60th Independence speech
October 1, 2020
By Alao Abiodun
President Muhammadu Buhari addressed Nigerians on Thursday morning in a nationwide broadcast to celebrate the 60th Independence Anniversary.
The 51-point address offered insights into the Presidentβs inner thinking policy direction for the next three years.
Here are five takeaways from the Presidential speech:
1. Nigeria must succeed together: The President was vehement Nigerians must jettison tribalism and nepotism, which have re****ed national development. He said: βMy summary of our journey so far as a nation is necessary to appropriately chart where we need to go and how to get there TOGETHER. The stereotype of thinking of ourselves as coming from one part of the country before seeing ourselves as Nigerians is a key starting point to project us on the road to our deserved nationβs evolution and integration.
2. Nigeria needs healing: Buhari was clear that years of suspicion and insecurity have made the country to bleed massively almost to the point of total collapse. To change the narrative, he said Nigeria must undergo a healing process. According to him: βTo start this healing process, we are already blessed with the most important asset any nation requires for such β OUR PEOPLE β and this has manifested globally in the exploits of Nigerians in many fields. . Nigeria is not a country for Mr. President, any ruling or opposition party but a country for all of us and we must play our part, irrespective of challenges we face, to make this country what we desire.β
3. Nigeria is broke: Owing to coronavirus pandemic and dip in foreign exchange earnings, Nigeriaβs income has shrunk with as much as 60 percent, Buhari revealed in the speech. It is an all-time dip for a nation that used to earn so much with little to show for it. According to him: βWe have suffered a significant drop in our foreign exchange earnings and internal revenues due to 40 per cent drop in oil prices and s
