The people of Melita at first thought of him as a murderer...
But when they saw a sign and the wonders, they called him a god!
First it was the viper!
Then it was the healing of Publius father and many who had diseases on the island came and were healed.

Dearly beloved,
You may not understand why you are where you are now but our God - the great script writer, the one who writes our story, your present location and condition didn't take him by surprise.
He understands why and rest assured it will be for His glory.
So what matters now is this: follow His script! Follow God's script for you!

For Paul, everywhere he passed through was for purpose - to be a witness!..in the cell, on the sea, on the island, on trial, at his hired house - it was to one effect - TO BE A WITNESS!

God understands why, Follow His script! 📖
That's what matters.

How many times have God promised a final destination that seemed really far away from coming to pass?

How many times have you trusted His word and how many times have you been cast into unbelief, despair and depression?

Apostle Paul faced a critical condition, God had promised him safe sail with all those with him. However, the promise didn't really stop the storm.
It was to stop the fear.

Dearly beloved,
That you're founded upon the rock wouldn't stop the storm.
But will your anchor remain? Will your faith stand?
Or will fear keep you away from God's presence?
God never fails!

WORD OF OUR TESTIMONY.

Paul before Agrippa declared his salvation experience which got King Agrippa almost persuaded. However Festus declared that he was mad.

Dearly beloved ,
You might meet this kind of sharp contrast when reaching out to people.
Allow the Spirit of God (not your human wisdom) teach you what to do in such situation.
An important thing to note here regardless is the word spoken.

The message of Christ is not a debate, not a research topic and definitely not a suggestion or advice. It is a fact, it is the truth.
Speak it with confidence and let the power that flows from the word bring life to the hearers.

GIVING UP?

It seemed like coming to the end of a rope...
No encouragement, no chariots of fire to prove you're serving a living God. You appeal to be heard, to be seen... Yet nothing seem to show forth.

Dearly beloved,
Take note however, that you'll finish strong, you won't drop the pen until the story is over.
Even to death, Jesus gained the victory.

So what are you afraid of?

THE BATTLE (Acts 24)

An orator came, named Tertillus and with much elegance of speech tried to frame Apostle Paul guilty before Felix.

Dearly beloved,
The Devil doesn't just use any man for his work. He trains them, makes them ready and efficient to do his work.

If Satan's agents are getting eloquently trained and prepared for Satan's work, what's stopping you from getting trained for the Lord's work dear believer?

Just your passion wouldn't do!
Get trained!
Get prepared!

Study to show yourself approved is what the scripture says dear workman.

Transform your zeal and passion into a conscious effort to be ready, prepared for God's work!

RIGHT OR WRONG?

Can I express myself by speaking back with harsh words when someone hurts or offends me? 🤷
Can I at least give them a taste of their own medicine? 🤷

Dearly beloved,
'Do good to them that hate you'...
Do not wish evil against those that hate you.
Also, do not speak evil against God's ministers.
(for you have not been appointed by God to be a judge)

On this journey of fulfilling God's purpose dearly beloved, take courage, trust in the Lord, He won't leave you alone! 🙏

"The following night the Lord stood near Paul and said, “Take courage! As you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome.”

WHAT'S YOUR DEFENSE?

Paul's defence was his salvation story, not an argument, trying to prove he is right.

Dearly beloved,
When we are given a chance to speak in defence of the gospel (quote and unquote), to speak for Christ, allow the Holy Spirit to rule your speech.
Don't go all 'defense mode activated' and be engaged in endless or baseless arguments.

Let the Spirit of God lead you to know when to speak, what to speak and when to keep silent.

Think about this.

THE MISSIONARY 2

This same injurious man (Paul) that could abandon business and career, travel miles and miles just to execute Christians.

He'd do literally anything to see their end, but God arrested him and recruited him and with that zeal and passion, Paul could die for the gospel, for Jesus - the one who died for him.

Dearly beloved,
Why is ours different?

Dear missionary,
You may not be asked to die for him but can you live you live for the one who died for you?

THE MISSIONARY (Acts 20)

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
(Matthew 28:19 NIV)

Apostle Paul understood this assignment and he did his best to follow through.

Even when he knew it could cost him his life, he still didn't stop.
He travelled across region to region and nation to nation, making new disciples and strengthening the faith of believers.

Dearly beloved,

Can you faithful do the work of an evangelist, carrying Jesus anywhere you go?
Where has God led your feet to? A particular school, office, social circle or community?

Carry Jesus fearlessly!

If those who do wrong do it shamelessly how can you doing the will of God be ashamed??!

God will always be with you as He promised ("and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age" Matthew 28:20 NIV)...

God proved Himself when Brother Eutychus died (Acts 20:9-10)...
If this happened in contemporary days, we'd have thought: 'Is God with him? People are supposed to be falling under the anointing not falling from 3 storey building'
But God was with Paul, God glorified Himself and brought Eutychus back to life.

Again, CARRY JESUS dear missionary!

JESUS I KNOW AND PAUL I KNOW BUT WHO ARE YOU?
(Acts 19)

When our hearts are open, we always receive more. When we make our whole self available, we become God's vessel.
We can learn from how the disciples at Ephesus opened their heart and received the Holy Spirit and then used by God. And Paul? Being made available, he was used by God to do extraordinary miracles.
The Sons of Sceva thought that all that was needed was just to 'invoke' the name of Jesus. But even the demons knew that 'you don't wear a badge when you don't belong to the school.'

Dearly beloved,
Do you know who you are?
Do you have an experiential knowledge of who God is and about the trinity?
Or do you just speak the name of Jesus and have no idea what you profess?
You would only be deceiving yourself and not anyone else... because even the demons know, 'you don't wear the badge when you don't belong to the school!'

And if you indeed are one of God's own, why aren't you open and available to be used by God.
