On 16th February, 2024 Salem school organized a football match with Community Secondary School Abakwa. The game started colloquially at the beginning but as the game reached the half hour mark it became more tenser. Salem school headboy (Haidar) made much effort on goal but was denied twice by the goalkeeper. The match goes on and on with none of the team scoring a goal. The referee added three minutes to the play (3) but the game ended goal less at halftime. In the second half Salem school made two (2) substitute to the team. Many errors we're made by both teams that almost lead to goals. An error by a student of Salem lead to the award of a penalty. The ball was placed on the penalty spot. A student with jersey number 11 from Community Secondary school take the penalty and scored. He shoot the ball to the right side of the bottom of the post. He ran to his team mates and celebrate woefully. In the second half of the match Salem school were out possessed. Several changes were made by both teams during the course of the second half in other to change the tempo of the game but none the score board still remains unchanged. The many substitutes made by Salem school made students also out of positions. Most of the changes did not performed well. Some minutes to the final whistle a good chance present itself inside the eighteen yard box to Salem school after a good tactical play by two students but the ball was wrongfully. A student shoots the ball nowhere near the goalkeeper. After that missed chance the referee blew his whistle for the final end to the match. Community school (1) — (0) Salem school.

*A DAY WITH BIG AUNTY @ SALEM*

*SALEM 25 ANNIVERSARY MEETING*
** SPEECH BY MISS MARY SULE A.K.A BIG AUNTY**
The school 25 years anniversary will be celebrated at the end of third term 2022 session. There is going to be a set of committee that will take control everything regarding to the events, staff/teachers included.
The anniversary is going to take place at the Salem school hall. However, the occasion was suppose to take place at the the famous *Arewa House Kaduna*. But due to some reasons which include difficulties in transport and very small children involved.
The petitioning in the school hall will be wiped out, so as to have the whole hall covered. The hall will be prepared and decorated for 25 years anniversary. It is noted, no doubt that the events will take place fir a whole one week (7days) .
There will be dress code for yhe occasion. The present students of SS1-2 suggested that they are going to wearing a white T-shirt, a black trouser and an after dress.
However, the outgoing Jss3 students are also not left behind. They also are going to be on their dress ( wrapper for girls) and shirt (for boys).
According to Big Aunty there is going to be life broadcasting by DITV KADUNA. And that there is also going to be interviews to some of the students of the school.
Another development from the school is that it hall will start hosting as a WAEC CENTER. However, the hall shall also be rented to host either walimats, wedding reception, naming ceremony, Islamic school graduations and so on. The proprietress said that all the Money made from the hall can be used in buying rubber chairs, tables and desks for used of the school. If all goes well this is surely a great achievement, one that will go higher in developing the school in the future.
The school is going to invites all it former teachers and staffs alive, who have work with the school to grace the occasion. She*SALEM 25 ANNIVERSARY MEETING*

This card will be shared to parents of the students to show their support by donating for the school 25 years anniversary.
Big Aunty said; that since the events is going to last a whole one week. The event will be petitioned ranging from nursery, primary, the secondary and the old student of the school. This is as a result of the bulk crowd that the school will had on the day of the anniversary.

150 Years From Now

150 years from now, none of us reading this post today will be alive. 70 percent to 100 percent of everything we are fighting over right now will be totally forgotten. Underline the word, TOTALLY.

If we go back memory lane to 150 years before us, that will be 1872, none of those that carried the world on their heads then are alive today. Almost all of us reading this will find it difficult to picture anybody's face of that era.

Pause for a while and imagine how some of them betrayed their relatives and sold them as slaves for a piece of mirror. Some k*lled family members just for a piece of land or tubers of yam or cowries or for a pinch of salt. Where is the yam, cowries, mirror, or salt that they were using to brag? It may sound funny to us now, but that is how s*lly we humans are sometimes, especially when it comes to money, power or trying to be relevant.

I remember those days in my secondary school, how some people fought and did so many unimaginable things just to have their names shortlisted among those to be made school Prefects. Ordinary school Prefects o! But today nobody in that school right now remembers that I even schooled there despite my popularity then. Now, imagine what happens after 150 years!

Even when you claim the internet age will preserve your memory, take Michael Jackson as an example. Michael Jackson died in 2009, just 13 years ago. Imagine the influence Michael Jackson had all over the world when he was alive. How many young people of today remember him with awe, that is if they even know him? In 150 years to come, his name, when mentioned, will not ring any bell to a lot of people.

Let us take life easy, nobody will get out of this world alive. . . The land you are fighting and ready to kill for, somebody left that land, the person is dead, rotten, and forgotten. That will also be your fate. In 150 years to come, none of the vehicles or phones we are using today to brag will be relevant. Biko, take life easy!!!

HOW TO RESPECT YOURSELF

(1) Stop looking for who is not looking for you.

(2) Stop begging.

(3) Stop saying more than is necessary.

(4) When people disrespect you, confront them immediately.

(5) Don't eat other people's food more than they eat yours.

(6) Reduce how you visit some people, especially if they don't reciprocate it.

(7) Invest in yourself. Make yourself happy.

(8) Stop entertaining gossip about other people.

(9) Think before you talk. 80% of how people value you is what comes out of your mouth.

(10) Always look your best. Dress the way you should be addressed.

(11) Be an achiever. Get busy with your goals.

(12) Respect your time.

(13) Don't stay in a relationship where you don't feel respected and valued. Walk away.

(14) Learn to spend money on yourself. That's how people will learn to spend on you.

(15) Be scarce sometimes.

(16) Be a giver more than a receiver.

(17) Don't go where you are not invited. And when invited don't overstay your welcome.

(18) Treat people exactly the way they deserve.

(19) Except they owe you money, two call attempts is enough. If they value you they will call you back.

(20) Be good at what you do. Be the best.
