Happy New Month, Educators.

April meets many of us in different places.
Some classrooms are quiet now as schools pause for the second term break. Some of us, however, are still gathering a few determined students for extra lessons as they prepare for WAEC. And across our universities and polytechnics, lectures and learning continue.

This is how education in Nigeria. Even during holidays, the work of shaping minds never completely rests.

We also know the heat has been intense across the country these past weeks.
May this new month bring cooler days, renewed strength, and moments of rest for every educator who has been giving their all.

And as the Easter weekend approaches, may it remind us of hope, renewal, and the quiet power of new beginnings.

Whether you are resting, teaching, mentoring, or preparing the next lesson, know that your work matters deeply.

Here is to a cooler April, better self care, and a community of educators who continue to grow together.

Send to your favourite Tisha

Happy New Month.
From all of us at Nigerian Tisha.

🌟 TISHA OF THE WEEK 🌟

This week, we celebrate an educator whose work reminds us that strong learning foundations are never accidental.

Meet Ms. Olajumoke Awonuga

A Parenting in Education Coach, Montessori‑trained educator, literacy consultant, and founder of Olivegrove Educational Consult, Ms. Awonuga is deeply committed to helping children become confident readers and purposeful learners.

Her work sits at a powerful intersection: parents, teachers, and children.
She understands a truth many overlook. Children do not become strong readers by chance. It takes intentional parenting, thoughtful teaching, and supportive learning environments.

Through teacher training, parenting education, literacy interventions, and her Raising Strong Readers Boot Camp, she equips adults with practical tools to support children’s reading development and overall growth.

She also mentors teenagers, helping them discover their strengths, understand themselves, and gain clarity about their future.

At the heart of her work is a simple but powerful belief:
“Literacy grows where intentional parenting meets intentional teaching. Every child can become a confident reader when adults are properly equipped.”

This philosophy continues to shape the lives of children, parents, and educators who come into contact with her work.
We celebrate your commitment to literacy, your passion for equipping adults, and your dedication to helping children thrive.

Thank you for the impact you are making.

🌿 Welcome to March 2026, Educators 🌿

Dear Tisha,
A new month is here.
March is not loud like January. It does not arrive with fireworks or resolutions. It comes quietly.
But sometimes, quiet months carry the greatest strength.

By now, the term is in motion. The lesson plans are real. The learners are fully themselves. The pressure is tangible.
And yet, so are you.

March is your reminder that progress is not always dramatic. Sometimes it is a struggling reader improving by one paragraph. Sometimes it is a restless child sitting still for five extra minutes. Sometimes it is you choosing patience when it would be easier to withdraw.
That is growth.

This month, may you find rhythm in your routine. May your energy be renewed where it has been stretched.

May your effort produce visible fruit.
And may you remember that even on ordinary days, you are doing extraordinary work.

March is not about starting over. It is about continuing with courage.
Keep building. Keep believing. Keep showing up.

The seeds you planted in January are already pushing through the soil.

Welcome to March 2026.

Let it be steady. Let it be fruitful. Let it be kind to you.
