KASU, KADUNA AND SOAS, UNIVERSITY OF LONDON AWARDED BRITISH ACADEMY INTERNATIONAL ACADEMIC WRITING WORKSHOP RIGHT!
When I first made public the news that I had gotten the job at SOAS, Professor Malumfashi Ibrahim contacted me about applying for a collaborative British Academy Writing Workshop to be attached to the Hausa International Book and Arts Festival. He and Sada Malumfashi already had an excellent programme drafted, and we worked together on editing and putting together the application. This is one of the first things I did in the first few months I was at SOAS. We were delighted when we received the grant. If you are a woman writing about a topic pertaining to culture in Northern Nigeria or the surrounding Hausa-speaking regions, please consider applying or pass this on to anyone else who might be interested in applying. The workshop, to be held in Abuja in August, will be an opportunity to meet other scholars doing similar work, get feedback on your work from colleagues and academic mentors, and hear from journal editors about best practices. Travel and accommodations will be covered. The deadline for submissions is mid-June. https://www.openartsworld.org/british-academy-uk-international-writing-workshop/?fbclid=IwAR1WgxUGyWjiDH9fxVvDpHuc-P5MKckXLzJ4S3n2zdUsx2v6nXJY5aWR_iQ
