Question 3:
The situation of Istihaadoh are how many?
Answer:
Istihaadoh has four situations:
The First:
That she is Mu'taadah (normal), example of that: a woman has her usual Hyde which comes to her from the beginning of the month till the sixth day, then the blood seizes on her after that and continues with her, this lady will return to her usual Hyde ie she will sit for six days (sit without doing salah or fasting) then she will have her Ghusl and her ruling would become that of the pure ones. Even if the blood to be non stop continuously with her.
The evidence for this is the hadeeth of Aaishah رضي الله عنها in his statement صلى الله عليه وسلم to Ummu habeebah:
امْكُثِي قَدْرَ مَا كَانَتْ تَحْبِسُكِ حَيْضَتُكِ، ثُمَّ اغْتَسِلِي، وَصَلِّي ".
Sit the estimated time you do for your Hyde counting then, afterwards do Ghusl and then salah.
Muslim 334 transmitted it.
The Second:
That she is a woman that has her 'aadah and she has a correct distinction (of the bloods). With the meaning that she has an' aadah at the beginning of the month, for example, and she sees a correct distinguished blood and it being Hyde whether at the middle of the month or its end, this lady will return to her 'aadah, and in the issue, there is difference of opinion, thus, upon this fact, she will wait based on (the waiting) of her' aadah.
Due to the hadeeth of Aaishah رضي الله عنها which has been preceded, because this is more regulatory for her and because distinction is sometimes disturbing upon her.
The Third:
That she has an 'aadah and can distinguish but she has forgotten her 'aadah, with the meaning that she doesn't know the time of her 'aadah, whether if it's at the beginning of the month or it's middle or its end but she sees a distinguished blood for example what's between the twentieth to twenty fifth, she see a thick black blood, then this woman returns to the distinction and it becomes an 'aadah for her, then she does Ghusl after this distinguished blood.
The Fourth:
That she doesn't have an' aadah, ie the blood comes with her one time and it's continuous with her and she doesn't have an 'aadah previously, and she is called a Mubtada'a ( a beginner).
If she has a correct distinction, she returns to it and takes it and if she doesn't have a correct distinction, she goes by the 'aadah of her women folk ie the ones who resemble her from her relatives in age and natural characteristics, thus if her relative's aadah is six days for example, she takes that and sits for six days from when she sees the blood.
