THE VISION EXPLAINED
The vision was explained on the 8th day of November 2009. Before the mandate was given to me by God to reach out to souls, I had thought I would be a word minister while I dance professionally (Own a dance academy). But God began to open my eyes to the need to bless lives through my dancing and the need for dance ministers to be trained, mentored and put on the right track (Bearing in mind the immense power in dancing). He took me to the story of Moses where God asked Moses, ‘what is that in your hand?’ I then asked myself ‘Funsho, what do you have?’
Then I realized God had earlier trained me for the task he is entrusting into my hands (Just as he did train Moses). On the 20th day of May 2010, as an answer to several petitions, the Holy Spirit took me to the book of psalms 26:6 (the anchor scripture of the ministry). Where he instructed that for us to point souls to Jesus and keep others on the right track, we have to be in the place of continual fellowship with God. I will love to challenge you to dare to stand up and out for God today in what so ever you find yourself doing. God gave you ALL you have to bring glory to his name and win souls into the kingdom. THE MANDATE
Be the road map for lost souls in finding JESUS
HISTORY
The history of COMPASS can be traced to 2002 when the visionary Mr. Funsho Olokesusi popularly known as ‘COACHIE’ then in Pre-ND attended a concert at the catholic social centre, independence way Kaduna organized by Youth with a purpose (YWAP) in memory of one of her late members. Spirits of David (A gospel dance ministry based in Lagos with several branches across the nation) ministered during this event and that was it. In March 2004, The Soldout KLAN (now Soldout ministries) kicked off and Funsho became a devout member for five years where he served as the leader of the dance arm of the ministry (SPIRITS) and vice-president of the ministry for four years. In March 2009 he left Kaduna for Maiduguri for his National Youth Service (NYSC). On getting there he started a dance team at the National Christian Corpers’Fellowship (NCCF) right from the three weeks orientation camp period. In May 2009 at Maiduguri now without a team, with the fire burning in him and the burning passion for dance, Funsho started ministering alone at several concerts, church services (Living Faith Church) and Corpers’ fellowships in Maiduguri. On the 18th of January 2010 while reading a book titled “The Chronicles” in Maiduguri Funsho got a nudge from the Holy Spirit as inspired by the book while meditating, to raise a team to carry out this mandate; walking in the footsteps of ALL the gospel giants in Nigeria as reported in the book. On getting back to Kaduna, (February 12th 2010) He did not hesitate in yielding to the instructions of the Holy spirit as he called the first team member and sold the vision to him. On the 8th day of March 2010 the ministry had her first meeting at space 2000, Egypt road Barnawa Kaduna with about fourteen people in attendance. From then till date, the vision is being sold to a few elect that are ready and anointed to be part of our team mandated by God almighty to fly his banner high above every other in every section of existence.
