Here is wisdom! This is one of Solomon’s most valuable lessons. You may not fully appreciate the profound advice of this proverb, but it teaches a great indicator of your character and future success or trouble. Obeying instruction and warnings is clear proof you are noble and wise. Refusing correction and reproof is clear proof you are foolish and wrong. The rule is inspired; the diagnosis is totally accurate. How do you measure up?
You arrived in life knowing nothing at all. The only way you could progress beyond that ignorance was to listen, learn, and obey. Some do not progress beyond childish thinking by these steps to wisdom, while others grow rapidly in knowledge and understanding. If you do not humble yourself to obey the instruction of teachers, you will be forced to learn the lessons of life the hard way – by painful misery and perpetual trouble in your life.
The key to wisdom and honor is humility – the ability to reject your thoughts in order to listen and obey others (Pr 15:33; 18:12). What hinders you from fully obtaining wisdom and honor? Pride! It leads to arrogant and selfish rejection of the opinions of others, which leaves you alone with the foolish imaginations of your own depraved and ignorant heart (Pr 18:1-2). Pride cannot bear to be corrected or taught by another. A man too proud to be taught is worse than a fool (Pr 26:12). Grasp this simple lesson. Love correction.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO LACK JUDGMENT? Lack of judgment is hasty decisions, poor choices, lack of foresight, and risky presumption. It believes everything it hears. It is frustration with the old way of doing things and impatience to experiment with something new. It is the desire for a free lunch, no matter how many times it has heard there is no such thing. It is the dream that there are shortcuts that can lead to wealth, though the wealthiest, Solomon, denies the idea.

How perceptive and discerning are you? Are you only impressed by size, beauty, sound, or show? Or do you look for wisdom and conduct, foresight and diligence, and other traits of much greater value than appearance?

The challenge:

In my world, there are no bad kids, just impressionable, conflicted young people wrestling with emotions n impulses as I did some years back, trying hard to communicate their feelings n needs the only way they know how.

The Responsibility:

As a teacher, I try to do my best, give my best, knowing that in doing so, I might enhance the quality of someone else's life.

As parents there's need for us pay attention to children, adolescent n young adults. To make out time and nurture them in the way of the Lord.
