A student of Plateau State Polytechnic, identified as Garba Fwangshak Samuel, was involved in a serious motor accident this evening around Old Airport Junction. He has been rushed to Plateau Specialist Hospital, Jos, and is currently unconscious. His ID card was recovered, but his phone is locked and cannot be accessed to reach his relatives. If anyone knows him or his family, kindly contact the hospital immediately or assist in disseminating this information widely to ensure his relatives are informed as soon as possible. This is urgent.

‎PLATEAU STATE GOVERNMENT ORDERS 48 HOURS CURFEW IN JOS NORTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

‎Following the tragic security incident that occurred at Gari Ya Waye community Angwan Rukuba today Sunday 29th March 2028 resulting in the loss of lives, while several others sustained varying degrees of injuries.

‎The Plateau State Government in conjunction with security agencies wishes to inform the general public of the imposition of a 48 hour curfew within Jos North Local government Area with immediate effect,commencing from 12 midnight of 29th March, to 1st April, 2026.

‎The government under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang strongly condemns this barbaric and unprovoked attack on innocent citizens and assures the public that all necessary measures are being taken to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

‎Citizens are urged to remain calm, stay vigilant, and cooperate fully with security agencies by providing any useful information that may aid ongoing investigations.

URGENT ARRANGMENTS FOR THE SECURITY AND SAFETY OF POLYTECHNIC AND MONOTECHNIC STAFF, STUDENTS AND PROPERTY DURING THE PROPOSED NATION WIDE PROTESTS

The Honourable Minister of Education has directed that the attention of all Governing Councils, Rectors and Provosts of Polytechnics and Monotechnics be formally drawn to the plan by unknown groups to embark on nationwide protests. The Federal Government is not unaware of the right of every Nigerian to peaceful protest, but is concerned about the lives, safety of staff and students and of Institutions property.

Consequently, the Honourable Minister has directed that Governing Councils and the Rectors/Provosts of all Nigerian Polytechnics/Monotechnics should take pro-active steps to ensure the security and safety of the Polytechnics/Monotechnics community, including staff and students.

In addition, Rectors/Provosts are to please issue specific statements to assure staff and students of their safety.

It is also advisable that while we remain vigilant, students remain on campus to focus on their academic pursuits so as to avoid exposure to any potential danger during the planned protests.
