However, there is one ingredient that goes into success that is more important than anything else. And that ingredient comes packaged in consistency.

To be consistent means to wholly put in dedication to a task, activity or goal. It means to fully stay engaged with full attention while starving all forms of distraction.

We all know who distractions are. It is no news that they are the major sources of setbacks. As soon as you make that decision to read for an hour each day, the distraction of social media scrolling stretches it's ugly head, giving you a gentle pat till you spend endless hours just watching others build empires.

If you must be consistent, it requires an unwavering commitment on your part. On, your part!!! You have to commit yourself to a sustained effort of action over the long-term.

Take note of LONG-TERM!

So this essentially means that you keep your word to yourself and others by following through with what you set out to do consistently over a period of time up until the moment your objectives are achieved.

As you keep up, over time you or your brand becomes reliable and dependable.

To be consistent, build small empowering habits and rituals. Engage in them every single day.

Guess what?

Doing this will keep you focused on your priorities and goals. So you have to hold yourself accountable for the daily choices you make with no excuses and no complaints. From your waking hours, to what you eat, to how much time to spend doing what.

You and you alone are accountable for what you do and what you fail to do. All responsibility lies solely in your hands.

Yo Mama!!!

The banner in front of her makeup studio captivates me anytime I'm around secretariat junction.

In my heart, judging from my assumption of her business name(Uzoza's signature), this must be an igbo woman i thought.

That time i was a soap and cream vendor, (master of none, i know right!!) so i'll pass through her studio to go pick my orders. I always remember to take a quick glance and pretend like say no be me😜.

As a sharp girl, i checked her page out on social media and i immediately fell in love with her makeup style.

That time I'll see my colleagues in makeup post stunning pictures of bridal shoots put together by different amazing wedding vendors.

I'll sit in my corner trying hard to figure out how its done.

Ahh, no be small wondering o.

I would summon the courage to ask someone, then oga cold feet will surface 🤦🤦. I'll keep thinking what the person i plan to ask will think of me. I was afraid of being regarded as a user. Probably the person paid to have all that information and i Just want to call and get it all for free? Those were some of my fears.

But eventually i asked a few persons and most of the time i just took the bold step to reach out to the vendors i wanted to collaborate with.

STOP USING THE WRONG SET OF TOOLS, STOP IT NOW!!!!

I took a rather tough route in learning makeup. I started out on my own without much help from a professional physically. It was a long and really tough experience because i made too many mistakes.

One time i was using my powder foam to apply foundation. I love to pay so much attention to the neatness of my makeup, so it took me so much time to blend. Not until I stumbled on a video where i saw the tutor use a beauty blender to apply foundation. I watched keenly and it excited me so much because the application looked so flawless.

The next thing on my mind was how to get a beauty blender for myself. Luckily and unluckily for me, i bought one from a roadside vendor who was selling. But i bought the wrong one. It was so hard like tuwon masara that has stayed overnight and it kept shifting the foundation while i battled to make it stay on the face.

Guys I bought the wrong one!!! I was supposed to buy the soft one, and that type is hardly found in wheel barrows on the roadside.

If i had been trained closely, i would have known better.

You don't need to rediscover the wheel yourself. Get a trainer that has already gone the way you are going and take as much knowledge from them.
