Happy New Month, dear Parents and Guardians in Christ.

I greet you warmly in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

On behalf of the Management, Staff and Students of St. John Vianney Minor Seminary, I sincerely thank you for your prayers, partnership, and sacrifice in the formation of these young men. You are co-workers with us in forming men of character for Church and Nation.

As we begin this new month of September, may the Lord bless the work of your hands. May He grant you peace in your homes, good health, divine favour, and an increase in every area of your life.

May the intercession of St. John Vianney continue to guide our boys and strengthen our families.

Thank you for entrusting your sons to us. Together, we raise saints and role models.

Today, we celebrate the life, leadership, and service of our Rector, SJVS 001. On this special occasion, we joyfully honour him for his dedication to St. John Vianney Minor Seminary, Barkin Ladi.

Dear Father, your leadership reflects discipline, and care for all entrusted to you. You have shown that leadership is service, given with love and responsibility.

Your vision and decisions continue to guide the growth of the school, improving facilities, strengthening academics, and building a better environment for all.

We deeply appreciate your commitment to academic excellence. You constantly encourage us to work hard, aim higher, and avoid mediocrity, reminding us that excellence is a continuous journey.

We also value your care for staff welfare. You ensure that those who serve are supported, heard, and appreciated, creating a more motivated working environment.

Warm congratulations to our dear staff member, Mrs. Mariam Shedrach, on the joyful occasion of her wedding to Mr. Shedrach. We rejoice with you as you begin this beautiful journey together as Mr. and Mrs. Shedrach.

May God bless your marriage with lasting love, peace, understanding, joy and fruitfulness. May your home become a place of prayer, unity and happiness, and may God guide you both through every season of your life together.

The Seminary Community was well represented at the celebration as we joined family and friends to support and celebrate with our dear staff member on this special day.

FEAST OF SAINT JOHN VIANNEY - AUGUST 4
Patron Saint of Priests & St. John Vianney Minor Seminary, Barkin Ladi.

Good morning, Beloved Family of SJVS Barkin Ladi,

Today the Church celebrates Saint John Vianney, the "Curé of Ars" - a man the world counted as ordinary, but whom God made extraordinary through holiness.

Born to peasant farmers in France in 1786, young John was slow in books but giant in faith. Rejected by many, he persevered. Ordained in 1815, he was sent to Ars - a village cold in faith. Within years, through prayer, penance, and the confessional, he set it on fire for God.

His secret? 3 things:
1. The Tabernacle* He said: "All the good works in the world are not equal to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass."
2. The Confessional* - 12-16 hours daily. He reconciled thousands and won souls back to Christ.
3. Hidden Sacrifice. He ate little, slept little, and gave all to the poor. "The priesthood is the love of the heart of Jesus."

Today, we bear his name at St. John Vianney Minor Seminary, Barkin Ladi. That name is both an honor and a mission.
May we imitate his love for prayer, his zeal for souls, his humility, and his total gift of self to God and to others.

May our Patron intercede for our Rector, formators, seminarians, staff, alumni, and benefactors. May he raise from among us holy priests after the heart of Christ.

Happy 21st Priestly Anniversary to Our Esteemed Rector, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Gideon Pwakim!

Today, the entire St. John Vianney Minor Seminary family joyfully celebrates a shepherd whose life of faith, service, and fatherly leadership has been a blessing to our community.

We thank God for your 21 years of dedicated priestly ministry and for your unwavering commitment to the spiritual, moral, and academic formation of our students. Your sacrifices, wisdom, and selfless service continue to inspire us all.

May the Lord whom you faithfully serve continue to strengthen, protect, and bless you with many more fruitful years in His vineyard.
