GOSA HAS CONTRIBUTION SIGNIFICANTLY TO PLATEAU, NIGERIA'S DEVELOPMENT-GOVERNOR MUTFWANG

Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has acknowledged with profound appreciation, the unquantifiable contributions of members of the Gindiri Old Students Association, GOSA towards the development of Plateau and Nigeria.

In an address at the 37th reunion service of COCIN Gindiri Schools Chaplaincy, held at the Church Auditorium in Gindiri, Mangu Local Government Area, the Governor noted that many members of the Association had contributed and are still offering credible and selfless services in different spheres of life in not just Plateau but different parts of the world.

The Governor who is a member of the Association, cited their Alma mater's legacy of nurturing competent leaders, including the late JD Gomwalk, the first Governor of Benue Plateau State, who significantly contributed to peace, unity, and development of Plateau and Nigeria.

The Governor extended his appreciation to God for the relative peace prevailing in the state and emphasized the collective responsibility of citizens to uphold the security of lives and property, especially in areas like Mangu Local Government Area, which had recently faced challenges related to insecurity.

Governor Mutfwang reiterated his administration's commitment to establishing a robust security framework to ensure the safety of students and community members at the Gindiri Schools Chaplaincy.

Addressing the current political landscape and legal challenges, Governor Mutfwang expressed his unwavering faith, stating that as long as God remains enthroned, light will prevail over darkness and assured that victory was certain despite the obstacles faced.

Rev. Dr. Amos Mohzo, the President of Church of Christ in Nations, commended Governor Mutfwang for his prompt action in addressing the state's security challenges. He praised the Governor's resolve and courage, which led to the presence of the Federal government in the state.

Reflecting on COCIN's history since its establishment in 1904, Rev. Mohzo highlighted the faithfulness of God towards the church. He emphasized the positive impact of the schools in raising leaders who have made significant contributions to humanity.

Associate Prof. Benjamin Pokol, General Secretary of COCIN, urged the former students to uphold integrity and truth in public service, emphasizing the importance of being agents of social transformation.
