THE BEUTY OF SHYNESS IN ISLAM
According to dictionary, shyness is the fear of social interactions.
However, in Arabic, which is known as Al-Haya, can be translated as:
bashfulness, decency, diffidence, honor, humility, inhibition, modesty, self-respect.
Haya/Shyness encourages Muslims to avoid anything considered to be distasteful or abominable. It plays an important role in Islam, as it is one of the most important parts of Iman.
As Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Iman has sixty odd or seventy odd branches. The uppermost of all these is the Testimony of Faith: 'La ilaha illallah' (there is no true god except Allah) while the least of them is the removal of harmful object from the road. And shyness is a branch of Iman." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Ibn 'Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) passed by a man of the Ansar who was admonishing his brother regarding shyness (you are very shy, I am afraid that might harm you.) Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Leave him alone, for shyness or modesty is a part of Iman." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

'Imran bin Husain (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Shyness does not bring anything except good." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]. In a narration of Muslim: Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "All of shyness is good."
Reference :
Sunnah.com reference : Book 2, Hadith 2
Arabic/English book reference : Book 2, Hadith 682
Lowering one's gaze is also a form of shyness;
"Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that will make for greater purity for them: and Allah is well acquainted with all that they do. And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty..." (Qur'an Nur, 30–31).
Fadima (R.A.) said the best jewelry for woman is her shyness.
Aisha (R. A.) Said the most beautiful charismatic is shyness.
Abubakar (R. A.) Said a man who is shy and modest is an amazing character, but a woman who is shy and modest is beyond amazing.
Ibn Taimiyya (Rahamatullah) said when the heart loses shyness, it will like the disliked and dislike the liked.
However, Shyness/Haya’ is of two kinds: good and bad:The good Hayâ’ is to be ashamed to commit a sin or a thing which Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him) has forbidden, and bad Hayâ’ is to feel ashamed to do a thing, which Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him) ordered us to do.
Abdullah ibn Umar (Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anhu) narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Indeed haya (modesty) and Iman are Companions. When one of them is lifted, the other leaves as well.” (Baihaqi)
Don’t be ashamed that you are shy it’s a good thing and it will save you from sin in shaa Allah and let the people say what they think, we are here to please our creator not the people. I hope it will clear your point in shaa Allah. May Allah guide us all to the straight path.

LAUGHTER (EXCESSIVE); AN ISLAMIC PERSPECTIVE!
In Qur'an 53: 43 Allah the Most High says,
And that it is He who makes (one) laughs and weeps.
As Muslims, we ought to understand that, there is no aspect of life that Allah's apostle has not taught us (in his authentic traditions) how to live by. And every imitation of his life is rewarding.
As Qur'an 33:73 says:
You have indeed, in the life of Rasool-Allah(S. A. W.), the 'Best Model' for him whose hope is in Allah and the Day of the Hereafter, and who engages himself much in the remembrance of Allah.
The legs of Allah's messenger (peace be upon him) were slender, his laughter was no more than a smile, and when I looked at him I thought that there was collyrium in his eyes, but there was not.
(Tirmidhi transmitted it.)
According to an authentic hadith, the Prophet (S. A. W.) said; Do not laugh too much, for excessive laughter kills the heart (spiritually). Ibn Majah
A'isha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated; I never saw the Messanger of Allah laughing so heartily that his back teeth were visible: he would only smile. (Bukhari)
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "Who will accept those words from me and act upon them, or teach people who will act upon them?" When he replied that he would he took him by the hand and counting five characteristics, said, "If you guard against the things which are forbidden, you will be the most devout of men; if you are pleased with what Allah has allotted, you will be the richest of men; if you are kind to your neighbour, you will be a believer; if you like others to have what you like for yourself, you will be a Muslim; and do not laugh immoderately, for immoderate laughter causes the heart to die."
Moreover, excessive laughter has a number of negative effects, such as:
1- It makes gatherings explode with echoing, unpleasant laughter.
2- The hearts of believers are spiritually corrupted by too much laughter: they open their mouths too wide, instead of being serious and portraying a sound character, etc.
Although some people are of the opinion that laughter is a safety valve, in order to get rid of their stress and worries.
As Muslims, our worries and stress should be treated the same way prescribed by the Prophet (S. A. W.): When something was troubling him, he would pray. (Abu Dawood)
According to an authentic hadith, when he (S. A. W.) was overtaken by worries and distress, he would say: Oh Ever-Living, Oh Eternal One, by Your Mercy I seek Your help. Allah is my Lord, and I do not associate anything with Him. (Ya Hayyu ya Qayyum, bi Rahmatika astagheethu, Allah rabbi wa laa ushiruku bihi shay'an.) Abu Dawood
In the famous supplication to relieve stress and anxiety, he (S. A. W.) said ; O Allah, I am Your slave, son of Your slave, son of Your female slave, my forelock is in Your hand, Your Command over me is forever executed and Your Decree over me is Just. I ask You by every Name Belonging to You which You Named Yourself with, or Revealed in Your Book, or You Taught to any of Your Creation, or You have Preserved in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You Make the Qur’an the life of my heart and the light of my breast, and a departure for my sorrow and a release for my anxiety.
In conclude this subject;
The prominent religious scholar, Sufyan ibn ‘Uyaynah said:
“Joking is Sunnah, but only for those who know how to do it and do it at the appropriate time.”
Being a Muslim requires careful thought and conduit. There is a time and place for everything, including joking. There is also an audience for joking – and everyone should know that, especially when telling jokes and provoking laughter.
Laughing at a party or a meeting is permitted, as long as laughter is not excessive to the point of loosing control. There are still plenty of Muslims and non-Muslims facing hardship around the globe that it would be insensitive to keep laughing about frivolous matters and turning valuable attention, efforts and time away from them.
Of course, for parents who love joking, laughing and playing with children, should know that it is not only permitted, but encouraged with keeping moderation. And while doing that, they shouldn’t joke and laugh to the extent that their children lose respect for them. Excessive teasing is also not allowed, as it can cause emotional baggage in children, especially those who are sensitive in nature.
Prophet Muhammad said:
“Do not laugh too much, for laughing too much deadens the heart.” (Ibn Majah)
In another narration, Prophet Muhammad had also cautioned not to speak too much about religious matters as this could turn hearts hard. Either way, a Muslim’s life needs to be in moderation. A Muslim should laugh and play with his family, share permissible jokes amongst friends, but keep serious when it comes to matters that require attention.
Umar ibn Al-Khattab said:
“Whoever laughs too much or jokes too much loses respect, and whoever persists in doing something will be known for it.”
Keeping good character is imperative in Islam. Joking and laughing do build character of someone who appreciates joy and life in general, so to keep Islam a religion of severe seriousness would be an imbalance to the Islamic faith.
At the same time however, moderate laughter is the best way to go for an observing Muslim – so it pays to pay heed as to how Prophet Muhammad would conduct such interaction as only the best of believers would follow his footsteps.

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF FASTING "TASU'A AND ASHURA!"
In the name of Allah, the Beneficient, the Merciful. We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (ﷺ) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Ibn ‘Abbas reported: “The Prophet (ﷺ) came to Madinah and found the Jews fasting on the day of‘Ashurah. He (ﷺ) said to them: ‘What is this fast?’ They said: ‘A great day. Allah saved Moses and the tribes of Israel from their enemies on this day and therefore, Moses fasted on this day.' The Prophet (ﷺ) said: ‘We have more of a right to Moses than you,’so he (ﷺ) fasted on that day also and ordered the believers to fast on that day.” -Related by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
Ibn‘Abbas reported:“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) fasted on the day of‘Ashurah and ordered the people to fast on it. The people said:‘O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), it is a day that the Jews and Christians honor.’The Prophet (ﷺ) said,‘When the following year comes–Allah willing–we shall fast (also) on the ninth.’ The death of the Prophet (ﷺ) came before the following year.” -Related by Muslim and Abu Dawud.
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) declared that the believers, because of their true belief upon all the previous Prophets of Allah, had more right to honor this day and he (ﷺ) encouraged the believers to differ from the pagans and fast two days, either the 9th and the 10th or the 10th and the 11th, in commemoration of this great day.
Sunan of Abu-Dawood 2419 (part) Narrated by Abu Qatadah: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:“…I seek from Allah that fasting on the day of ‘Arafah’ may atone for the sins of the preceding and the coming year; and I seek from Allah that fasting on the days of‘ASHURA’ may atone for the sins of the preceding year.”
NOTE: Wednesday(18/08/021) and Thursday(19/08/021) are going to be the 9th(TASU'A) and the 10th(ASHURA) respectively.

Happy eid-al-adha to all!
Dear brothers and sisters in Islam, the MSSN NTA TV College Branch wishes to register its congratulatory message to all her respected members. May every act we conduct during the passed seven-days, today, and tomorrow (Arafat day), be accepted by Allah.
'The first ten days of Dhul Hijjah are often referred to as the best ten days of the year.'
So sacred are these ten days, that Allah swears an oath by them when He says in the Quran: ‘By the dawn; by the ten nights’ [89:1-2] and He reminds us in Surah al-Baqarah to remember him during these blessed days ‘Remember Allah during the appointed days’. [2:203]
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” [Bukhari, Abu-Dawud]
Tommorow, Thursday shall be the day of arafah. If at all you were unable to have performed so many in the last days, make a very good use of the Arafat day.
Arafat is a day on which Allah perfected His Religion, completed His favours upon His beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him), and approved Islam as a way of life. Imam Ibn Kathir in his tafsir (Qur’an exegesis) says:
“Imam Ahmad recorded that Tariq Bin Shihab said,“A Jewish man said to Umar Bin Al-Khattab,‘O Leader of the Believers! There is a verse in your Book, which is read by all of you (Muslims), and had it been revealed to us, we would have taken that day (on which it was revealed) as a day of celebration. Umar Bin Al-Khattab asked, ‘Which is that verse? The Jew replied:
“This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favour upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion.”[]
Umar replied, “By Allah! I know when and where this verse was revealed to Allah’s Messenger. It was the evening on the Day of Arafah on a Friday.”
Things to Do on the Day of Arafah
1. Fasting on the Day of Arafah: Fasting is highly encouraged and recommended for those not going on Hajj.
“Fasting on the Day of Arafah expiates the sins of the past year and the coming year.” [Muslim]
2. Du’a of Arafah: Saying this Du’a very often:
The Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) said of the Day of Arafah Du’a:
“The most excellent Du’a is the Du’a on the Day of Arafah, and the best of what I and the Prophets before me have said, is “There is nothing that deserves to be worshiped in truth except Allah, He is Alone and has no partner, to Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs all praise, and He is All-Powerful over all things.'” [Muwatta]
“لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له ، له الملك ، وله الحمد ، وهو على كل شيء قدير.”
“I call on us all to continue to imbibe the spirit of love, peace, kindness, and sacrifice, as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him).
I ask Allah to assist us in living by the Qur’an and Sunnah.
I pray, He lets us recognise the truth for what it is and helps us to follow it, and that He lets us see falsehood for what it is and helps us to avoid it.
O Allah! Guide us and protect us from the causes of ignorance and destruction!
