AN OPEN LETTER TO GOVERNOR MUHAMMAD BADARU ABUBAKAR

Dear Gov. Badaru,

Prior to your election in 2015, you manifested a promisory note of being a strong ally for Jigawa state students and education in general.

My, how your tune changed.

The recent cryptic, bewildered, and convulated National Association of Jigawa State Students convention in Dutse evinced your eagress extra-legal role of politicizing and promoting capitalism and godfatherliness in a non-political students association whose cardinal principle was structured on uniting Jigawa's future leaders plus countering and eradicating the major squalid factor of emiratism sentiment among others.

To me, beyond your administration's non payement of students bursary, this subtle, under handed, yet very powerful threat on students and their union is the single most despicable, divisive and damaging way in which you use your influence as governor.

I'd like to believe that you yourself know the danger in derogating an infinite group of people - especially one made up of people who dedicate their interest to the children of the state you govern; but the poison you spew is recieved by people who are inherently resentful of our future political ambition, and willing to attack us, and students unionism as an entity, without any ground for their belief. In short, in an effort to promote your hidden agenda, you're actively, purposefully, and aggressively promoting an unfounded stereotype that is damaging to students unity, to communities, and to education in general.

Surely you understand the implication of your role in students affairs - and to me that is what makes your blanket statement on transperency and justice even more shocking, abject and detestable.

I am a proud student and I can whole-heartedly and very honestly say that with the intervention of government in students politics, I have never seen evidence that my colleagues imposed as students leaders want to maintain a system that serves students interest ahead of your interest.

So I ask you: where is the evedince of your claim of administering a corrupt free and transparent government?

Even if you're commited to delivering the best changes in Jigawa state, your action on students and their union is deliberate. I can assure you that what you're doing - particularly in promoting your hidden motive that seeks to turn our students into coporate political - thugs have a more divisive and damaging effect on the future of our state than you can possibly imagine or be expected to understand.

Your subsequent actions, though, are counter productive to the goals you yourself set and damaging the climate patriotic students work each day to create.

You still have time to support in making Jigawa students better people - and in turn make Jigawa an even better state.

If not, the climate you have created will continue to destroy the institution you claim you are trying to improve.

SCHOLARSHIP!!! SCHOLARSHIP!!! SCHOLARSHIP!!!

Due to the previous financial situation and other inconveniences that hindered students scholarship payment in our state, The executive governor of Jigawa state Alhaji Sule Lamido has finally signed for the release of students bursary. The Scholarship Board has resolved to hold the payment exercise as soon as approval is made from the state ministry of finance. However, the payment date will be communicated as soon as the situation warrants. Students are expected to bear with the situation and be steadfast in prayers.

SCHOLARSHIP PAYMENT ON PROGRESS

Finally the Jigawa State Scholarship Board has began bursary payment from Monday 2/5/2014.
NAJISS Presidents of all chapters are hereby advised to enquire for their chapter's payement dates from scholarship board and made it known to their members.

BREAKING: The Federal Government has directed the Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar, to deploy policemen to all federal universities in the country in its bid to ensure resumption of academic activities in universities on or before December 4.
“Not all lecturers are members of ASUU. Most professors don’t belong to the union, people think every lecturer in public university is a member of ASUU, which is not true. Government means business this time around and it is going to call off the bluff of ASUU’’ - Presidency

Also, all vice-chancellors were directed to open registers in their institutions on Monday 4th December where ASUU members that resume work would sign so that those who failed to resume could be sacked. Ơ̴̴̴̴̴̴͡.̮Ơ̴̴͡
