Yesterday, Hon. Angye Josiah Yaro a Lecturer with Taraba State Polytechnic Suntai and Now a Member representing Wukari II constituency, at Taraba State House Of Assembly received an Award Of Excellence from Likeminds Support for Good Governance in Africa.
"In recognition to his immense contributions to Humanitarian Service, Nation Building, and in line with his commitment to provide Dividends of Democracy to His Constituents and Beyond.

The Award was presented to the Awardee at Rector's Office in Taraba State Polytechnic Suntai, Jalingo Campus.

In attendance, the digital and energetic Rector, Bldr. Dr. Ayuba Ibrahim Abarshi, Dr. Amos Agbu Danlami (Deputy Rector) Comr. I.I Jellason (Registrar) Mrs. Mary Daha (Bursers), Mr. Kwesinde Biki (Deputy Registrar) Dr. Samuel Ishaya (Director of works) Mr. Kamalu Aliyu (Director MIS), Mr. Ifu Danjuma, Arc. Patience Agbu and others were present to witness the event of their former colleague.

Hon. Angye Josiah Yaro, In his remarks appreciated the school management, staff and students of Taraba State Polytechnic.
The Honourable Member Said, "I want to use this medium to thank and appreciate the management, staff and students of Taraba State Polytechnic for their Ernest support towards me during the immediate pass election 2023, especially the students."

The Lawmaker added by thanking the Likeminds Support for Good Governance in Africa for finding him worthy to received such humanitarian award.

Taraba State Polytechnic students bag Gen. T.Y. Buratai Award for Poetry and Prose Competition.

Two students from Taraba State Polytechnic Suntai have won the Gen. T. Y. Buratai award for the poetry and prose competition in the senior category.

The 3rd edition of the Northeast festival of literature, culture, and creativity, which took place at Gombe state university, was organized by Halima Factor Community initiative, an NGO based in Gombe state.

The week-long event began on November 12, 2023, and ended on November 18, 2023, in State University, Gombe.

The winner in the senior category on spoken rendition Biskilla Joseph, an ND two student in the department of mass communication, emerged as the winner in the senior category after presenting a poem titled "My Culture, My Identity"

Her rendition, which revolved around the Mumuye culture, levelled her opponents, and she received a cash prize of #200, 000 for her brilliant performances.

In the same vain, Magdalene Jonah, also an ND two student in the department of mass communication, contested in prose writing and took the second position.

Her victory came after submitting an online piece of prose that qualified her to participate in the competition.

Meanwhile, at the competition arena, all contestants in that category were subjected to an instant writing contest with strict supervision to ensure the authenticity of their submission.

The 3rd edition of the Northeast Festival of Literature, Culture, and Creativity 2023 was tagged "My Culture, My Identity."

The participants were drawn from higher institutions of learning in the Northeast, both from lower and upper schools in the region.

It could be recalled that the maiden edition of the competition took place in 2021, and Taraba state polytechnic won the 1st position through the spoken word poetry rendition by Hafiza Abdulwahab in the department of mass communication.

Speaking with newsmen in Gombe after the event, Biskilla Joseph expressed her gratitude as she emerged as the first winner.
" This is my happiest day in life. I'm highly excited that I've made it in this competition", she said.

She also gives kudos to her lecturers, Mr. Cosmos Johnson and, the polytechnic management under the stewardship of Dr. Ayuba Ibrahim Abarshi for giving them the opportunity to demonstrate their talents.

This is to inform the general public and critical stakeholders over rumours trailing on the social media on the purported attitude of Taraba State Polytechnic students during their recent signing out ceremony. Where some students exposed their un**es and other sensitive parts of their bodies for other students to sign on.

The Polytechnic Management had adequately trained them on morals, the few students involved in these terrible display of indecency have been identified and appropriate discipline had been administered. Those yet to be reached are on our search radar, as soon as we reach them, same fate awaits them.
From the arrest made it was also discovered that some of the miscreants were withdrawn from the Polytechnic for various offences while others belonged to other institutions.
We appeal to all parents and guardians to be deligent in training of their wards and children as it is a known fact, a tree can only be bent when it is still small!!!
