The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled its Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general election, with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu named Chairman and Vice President Kashim Shettima as Vice Chairman.

APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, will serve as Vice Chairman II of the council.

Former Minister of Information, Dele Alake, will serve as Campaign Spokesman, while James Faleke has been appointed Deputy Director-General for Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring.

Faleke will coordinate the campaign’s zonal directors across the six geopolitical zones.

The zonal directors are Senator Olushola Adeyeye for the South-West; Dr Ngozi Olejeme for the South-South; Senator Uche Ekwunife for the South-East; Muntaqha Rabe for the North-West; Ahmed Muhammed Ketso for the North-Central; and Senator Sani Danladi for the North-East.

The appointments are expected to provide the APC with a structured campaign leadership ahead of the 2027 presidential election, as the party seeks to secure President Tinubu’s re-election.

Fela's prophecy on Abiola from prisøn

In March 1993, just three months to the June 12 presidential election, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, who was in prisøn was asked about Chief MKO Abiola and his preparation for the election and eventual ascension to the position of the President.

Editors from TheNEWS magazine had visited him in prison where they interviewed him. Fela's response was philosophical. See the question and his response below:

Question: But what happens if Chief Abiola becomes the next President?

Fela: Wait now make him take over. He don jump there now his eyes go see a lot.

Abiola won the election but never became the president. In-between the struggle to get back his mandate, he truly saw a lot as Fela predicted.

In a recent interview, Helen Paul said: "If you had known me years ago, all my teeth were brown. It was D1 of Keke Ogungbe, Dayo Adeneye, who called me by himself suddenly and said: "Helen, a job is coming. They said you're qualified but you don't have the look. And when I asked what's the look, they said your teeth."

I said: "Sir, these teeth have affected many of my jobs. So I am used to doing background jobs."
Then, he said there can be change and I asked how. He said he had a doctor friend, Emeka and he asked me to go to him. By the time the doctor checked, he said I would be spending over N2 million. I called D1 and told him I didn't have such money, but he said I shouldn't worry. Then, the doctor said he and Dayo would take care of it. They didn't know me before and I only saw Dayo on TV marketing Tuface.

So, I went for the crowning and changing of the teeth. So, my first appearance on television was for the Peak Talent Show. So, they gave me that money.
I called D1: "Sir, your percentage..."
And he said: Helen, as they paid you, you think they won't pay me more? Gerrout. Enjoy yourself, enjoy your talent. Welcome to a new world, Helen. Take care."
And that was it for me and Dayo.

How I Almost became "Nkan panu" for a Sitting Governor 🤣 as a TV Girl.

By Olubumi Olabiyi

Women in the kleighlight are most times a victim of sexual harassment from different men both within and outside Broadcasting just because they are exposed through their profession.

The sexual advances can come from their bosses within the work place or from the men outside.

Most times this men seek you out by themselves to tell you about their sexual interests in you and if you also feel the same, then you roll with it.

But this particular Sitting Gomina thought he could go through my oga patapata to get to me. He wanted my boss to hand me over to him on a platter of gold.

He actually invited my General Manager to his office to tell him to bring me to him as "Nkan panu".

What effontry!

Guess what? My boss refused and told him point blank that his purview as the General Manager of the Station did not cover such assignment.

I can imagine the Gut it takes for my General Manager to summon up courage to look at a Sitting Governor in his face to tell him this knowing that it could cost him his job!

But those days we had good and amazing bosses who will put everything at stake to protect us their staff no matter whose horse is gored.

Did my GM pay for this? I think so because when this discussion came up between us he actually told me this was one of the issues he had with the then Sitting Governor that led to his removal as General Manager and was posted elsewhere to make him redundant.

This same General Manager was harrased for days by the DSS at their Eleyele office back then for not providing an Announcer / Presenter who was on duty when our Station was allegedly accused of playing the music of Ologundudu that he recorded to abuse President Obasanjo when he was a Sitting President.

Till today I always referred to that my General Manager as "Daddy" and genuflect to greet him anywhere I see him because he really played the role of a father who will go to any length to protect we his "children "

Not all bosses are wicked. Some are angels in human form.
