Definition of Job, Success and Achieve
A job is simply any legal activity you are engaged in to earn a living. It means your contribution to the production of goods and services that earns you a reward in form of wages, salary or profit.
Success means to accomplish what you aimed at (your goals). Success is not automatic. It comes at a price. And we succeed on daily basis.
To achieve something means to attain or possess what we did not have before.
Fifteen (15) Steps To Achieve Success On The Job
1. Know your job well.
2. Know your organization very well. Its vision, mission, goals & values. i.e. the organization’s culture.
3. Know your role in the organization.
4. Play your role very well. Give more than you are paid to do. Go the extra mile to please your employer.
5. Be a team player. Cooperate with other members of staff to achieve success.
6. Be punctual. Do not be an absentee staff. Do not take permission at the slightest need. Always show up.
7. Establish a personal relationship with God. Settle the God factor.
8. Show diligence in your work.
9. Be accountable.
10. Take responsibility. Do not blame others for your mistakes.
11. Love your job and those you are serving.
12. Have a personal goal and pursue it.
13. Plan your day for success.
14. Be flexible- things may not go the way you planned them. Many roads lead to success.
15. Show appreciation to your team mates.
