DAY 2 REMINDER

The fasting person is enjoined to guard all his faculties against disobeying Allah. The purpose behind fasting is not simply to refrain from eating and drinking, rather the purpose is to refrain from disobeying Allah and to achieve piety or fear of Allah.

Al-Nawawi said:

"Prohibition against obscene speech, ignorant action, argument and insults on the part of one who is fasting is not restricted only to him, rather each of these things is forbidden in general, but the prohibition is stronger in the case of one who is fasting."

Al-Baqarah 2:185

*شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُنزِلَ فِيهِ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ هُدًى لِّلنَّاسِ وَبَيِّنَٰتٍ مِّنَ ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَٱلْفُرْقَانِۚ فَمَن شَهِدَ مِنكُمُ ٱلشَّهْرَ فَلْيَصُمْهُۖ وَمَن كَانَ مَرِيضًا أَوْ عَلَىٰ سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّةٌ مِّنْ أَيَّامٍ أُخَرَۗ يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ بِكُمُ ٱلْيُسْرَ وَلَا يُرِيدُ بِكُمُ ٱلْعُسْرَ وَلِتُكْمِلُوا۟ ٱلْعِدَّةَ وَلِتُكَبِّرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ مَا هَدَىٰكُمْ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ*

ISLAM THE RELIGION OF PEACE

‘Islam’ literally means peace, therefore, it seems quite unnatural that a religion that names itself peace can teach or preach something that is violent or full of aggression. Almighty Allah in Quran has encouraged the establishment of peace and has told us to be moderate in our behavior and adopt the qualities of kindness, love, and respect for others
Most people seem to equate “Islam” with “Muslim.” These two words, however, though related are not the same. “Islam” is a word that does not have any connection with a geographical area or a particular figure or character in history. To We Muslims, “Islam” is not just a “religion” it is the whole encompassing way of life.

Aal-e-Imran 3:19

إِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْإِسْلَٰمُۗ وَمَا ٱخْتَلَفَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْعِلْمُ بَغْيًۢا بَيْنَهُمْۗ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَرِيعُ ٱلْحِسَابِ

Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allāh is Islām. And those who were given the Scripture did not differ except after knowledge had come to them - out of jealous animosity between themselves. And whoever disbelieves in the verses of Allāh, then indeed, Allāh is swift in [taking] account.

The basis of Islam is peace. A true Muslim is the one who truly follows Islam, someone who is at perfect peace, with himself and with others. As our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said, mentioned in the Hadith collections of Tirmidhi and Nasai: “A true believer (mumin) is he from whom people’s lives and wealth are safe.”

One of the main objectives of our religion is to introduce into the world an ideology that facilitates the spreading of peace at every level. Spread peace at an individual level as well as social level so that we can live a peaceful life with other Muslims and also we can portray a very good and peaceful image of our religion Islam.

Acts of virtue are those that rid humanity of violence and promote peace. These support the ideal condition of harmony that prevails in interactions between people and societies: peace. Islam is, in every meaning of the word, a religion of peace. Islam's teachings are all predicated on the ideas of avoidance and peace. Any deviation from the model is a deviation from Islam and is the result of misunderstanding. Therefore, in order for peace to reign the world , we should comprehend the peace concept found in Islam and base our actions on it.
