Congratulations to Dr. Sikiru Issa Nuhu Ph.D, on earning your Doctor of Philosophy. Your dedication, perseverance, and brilliance inspire us all. On behalf of YALI Network Kwara State, we celebrate this remarkable achievement and the positive impact you continue to make. Well done, Doctor!

Between November and December 2025, the YALI Network Kwara State Hub embarked on a powerful journey across Ilorin, the Leadership Mindset Tour, a transformative outreach designed to plant seeds of leadership, purpose, and possibility in the hearts of young people.

Over the course of the tour, our team visited six senior secondary schools, engaging a total of 603 students and 22 teachers, each school filled with bright young minds eager to learn, listen, and lead.
From Ijagbo to Yakuba, from Okekere to Oke-Adini, the message was the same:
Leadership begins with mindset. Growth begins with exposure. And the future belongs to those who prepare for it.

At every school, our facilitators delivered three core pillars that shaped the entire tour:

• Leadership Development
Delivered by: Oluwaseyi Ogbonlaiye and Ashrafat Abdulwahab
Students learned what leadership truly means, responsibility, influence, service, and the courage to choose the right path even when it is not easy.

• Personal Growth and Self-Development
Delivered by: Habeeb Mudasir Kayode, Abdulfatai Omolara Khadijat, and Faruq Fridous
They explored self-belief, discipline, goal-setting, and the mindset needed to rise above limitations and create a life of purpose.

• Career Awareness and Pathways
Delivered by: Ridwan Aboki (CCSA)
Students were introduced to career opportunities, digital tools like Rafiki AI, and the importance of making informed decisions about their future. Many students had their first exposure to structured career guidance, a moment that sparked both reflection and excitement.

• Oyun Baptist High School, Ijagbo (155 students, 22 teachers)
• Olokuta Secondary School, Anfeyin (127 students)
• Government Day Secondary School, Okekere (88 students)
• Government Day Secondary School, Alore (108 students)
• Kwara State School of Special Needs, Yakuba (53 students)
• Ilorin South LGEA Secondary School, Oke Adini (72 students)

Every session carried its own unique energy.
Some students asked bold questions.
Some shared their dreams for the first time.
Some discovered that they, too, could become leaders, innovators, creators, and changemakers.

On 21st November, 2025, our team set out from Ilorin to Ijagbo on Leadership Mindset Tour to ignite fresh inspiration in both teachers and students of Oyun Baptist High School, Ijagbo, Kwara State (Senior Section).

We were warmly received by the school’s Principal, whose hospitality set the tone for a meaningful and impactful experience.

Our first engagement was with the teachers. A total of 22 educators joined the session, where we had open conversations about the importance of 21st-century skills and why teachers must stay updated with evolving digital tools. We also introduced them to Rafiki AI, showing how technology can support lesson delivery, simplify classroom tasks, and enhance learning outcomes. Their excitement and curiosity reminded us how powerful continuous learning can be.

Next, we had an energizing session with the students, 155 brilliant young minds eager to grow by our facilitators:
• Oluwaseyi Ogbonlaiye spoke to them about leadership and how to take responsibility for their future.
• Habeeb Mudashir took them on a journey of self-development, unlocking the mindset needed for greatness.
• Ridwan Aboki, CCSA guided them through career choices and introduced them to Rafiki AI, opening their eyes to the opportunities in technology and modern innovation.

One of the most beautiful moments of the day came from our very own member and teacher at the school, Ayobami Awoniyi. As a beneficiary of the Own A Project outreach, she officially launched her SDGs Club during the event a powerful example of impact coming full circle.

From the teachers’ renewed motivation to the students’ bright enthusiasm, the visit reminded us why community impact matters. We didn’t just share knowledge; we planted seeds of leadership, growth, and endless possibilities.
