Parents, hereโs something you might not know:
Even if you delete WhatsApp from your teenagerโs phone to reduce constant chatting, they are not cut off. As long as they have a Gmail account and internet connection, Google Chat has them covered.
This means communication can continue through another channel you may not even be monitoring.
๐จโ๐ฉโ๐ง The key is not only deleting apps but teaching responsible digital habits, balanced screen time, and self-control.

The Term Has Ended
What Next?
Across the country, the school term has officially ended. Some children are excited about their results, while othersโฆ not so much.
As the holiday begins, letโs be intentional about the academic growth of our children. We cannot afford to fold our arms or sit idly, especially when we know our children are struggling in certain areas.
The truth is, conventional schooling can't do it all. The home remains the first school, and parents are a childโs first teacher.
If your child is still struggling to read, you have options:
1. Learn Phonics as a Parent and Teach Your Child
This method allows you to take an active role in your childโs learning. It works especially well if your child learns best with familiar faces. However, it's not a one-size-fits-all approach, and thatโs okay.
2. Enrol Your Child in a Phonics Class (Online or Offline)
If you're busy or unsure where to start, consider a structured phonics class. Many qualified teachers can help.
Remember, every kobo spent on quality education is a wise investment.
But please
Iโm not talking about toddlers here.
If your child is 1, 2, or even 3 years old, this is not the time for formal classes or structured learning. These early years should be filled with play, bonding, and discovery, not pressure.
Avoid online classes for toddlers. In fact, cut down screen time as much as possible. Instead, give them real, hands-on play:
Clay and dough
Straws and building blocks
Imaginative play with household items
Simple, safe, and guided play is enough to spark creativity and brain development.
Final Word:
Holidays are for rest, connection, and gentle learning.
Let the memories you create be filled with laughter, storytelling, and meaningful conversations.
And whatever learning happens, always make room for rest. A well-rested child learns better and lives better.
Make it count ๐

"A Tale of Childhood Mishaps and Important Lessons!"
Some years ago, when my little daughter was just starting school, I discovered a newfound love for adding beads to her hair. It became a weekly ritual, enhancing the beauty of her hairstyle, and I saw no reason to stop. Little did I know, a terrifying incident would change everything.
I remember it vividly as if it happened yesterday, and the memory still sends chills down my spine.
One fateful day, I received a call from my daughter's class teacher. The news she delivered left me breathless - her beads had been removed.
But here's the twist - it wasn't just a case of misplacing them. Salamah, my daughter, had taken it upon herself to insert one bead in her nose and another in her friend's ear. ๐
Shock and fear overwhelmed me. I immediately inquired about the well-being of both children and to my relief, they were unharmed. As I recalled, the teacher said yes, they are fine. It was one of the most incredible "yeses" I had ever heard, and it was a moment of pure relief.
The teacher wisely advised me to stop using beads for my daughter. Salamah had momentarily become the Bead Bandit, and all the beads had been confiscated and safely stowed away. It was a wake-up call for me, a reminder to be vigilant as a parent.
This incident reminded me of a tragic story I once heard. A school lost a student who accidentally swallowed the plastic cover of a pen. The poor boy never meant to ingest it, he was just idly holding it in his mouth. A cruel twist of fate that left us with a heartbreaking reality - he is no more.
As parents and educators, we must stay observant and discourage children from putting anything other than food into their mouths. Pencils, pens, erasers, and even strange objects like bottle covers often find their way into curious mouths. It may seem tempting to ask if it's delicious, but the truth is, for some children, it has become a destructive habit.
Let's band together to break this dangerous habit whenever we witness it. In doing so, we might just save a life.
Remember, your continued success as a parent lies in keeping our precious children safe and teaching them the importance of making sound choices.

A workplace is a place of productivity, professionalism, and collaboration. It is where individuals come together to contribute their skills and talents towards the common goals of the organization. While it is important to build relationships and camaraderie with colleagues, it is equally important to remember that the primary purpose of being in a workplace is to work.
Employees should focus on the tasks they are paid to do and avoid getting entangled in gossip, backbiting, slander, and office politics. These behaviours are not only unprofessional but also detrimental to the overall work environment. The energy and time wasted on negative interactions could be better utilized towards achieving the organization's objectives.
An organization must strive for staff professionalism. This means conducting oneself with integrity, honesty, and respect towards others. Professionalism also entails focusing on one's work, meeting deadlines, and delivering quality results. By embodying professionalism, employees contribute to a positive and productive work culture.
Friendship is a natural outcome of spending significant time with colleagues, and it can undoubtedly enhance the work experience. However, it should never be at the expense of the organization's priorities. Friendships should not lead to favouritism, biased decision-making, or compromising work quality. Individuals need to maintain a balance between personal relationships and professional responsibilities.
In conducting their affairs at work, employees should also consider the impact of their actions on the organization. The fear of God, in a broader sense, encourages individuals to act with conscience, morality, and goodwill. It serves as a guide for ethical conduct and encourages employees to uphold the values and principles of the organization.
As staff in our various organisations or parastatals, it is essential to inspire ourselves to be better workers, individuals, and colleagues. We should strive to excel in our roles, support our peers, and contribute positively to the organization's success. By focusing on our work, upholding professionalism, and keeping the organization's best interests in mind, we create a workplace that is conducive to growth, productivity, and mutual respect. Let us inspire one another to be the best versions of ourselves in and out of the workplace.

Young children love to build and create. Whether they're stacking blocks or building castles out of sand, they're also learning and developing new skills. Construction sets for toddlers provide even more opportunities for learning and growth, challenging them to develop new skills and practice old ones.
The best construction sets for toddlers are designed to introduce children to the basics of math, engineering, and technology. As they play, toddlers are learning about concepts like gravity, speed, and velocity. They may not have the vocabulary yet to understand these concepts, but they are gaining valuable experience.
Different construction sets for toddlers focus on enhancing specific skills. For example, wooden building blocks are great for learning early math skills like matching, sorting, and counting. More advanced sets promote simple engineering and technology skills, encouraging toddlers to problem solve and be creative.
These sets are open-ended, meaning they don't come with instructions and toddlers can play with them however they like, sparking their imagination and creativity. They can start with simple structures and as they grow, they can create more complex and elaborate designs.
Construction sets for toddlers come in a range of options, from simple to elaborate. They should always be safe, sturdy, and washable, challenging enough to encourage problem-solving but also enjoyable and fun. It's also worth noting that these sets can be enjoyed by teenagers as well!
