:: PINNACLE OF HONOUR::
I took a little walk and stumbled at this beautiful flower, small but standing alone, it looks just like a jewel, never have i seen such amazing kind. I got so attracted to pluck it out, the best place i thought of keeping it was my hair, so i pinned it hoping to introduce as the most beautiful experience i had for the day.
On getting to my destination, the lady who first met came rushing like she noticed something odd. She wiped off my hair and said: Peace, it seems something feel on you. Surprisingly, it was my cherished flower looking so ugly, wrinkled and dead. I could not believe it was that same flower i so adored to the point of making a jewel...she lies lifeless and completely deformed. Then i asked: How can i ever defend you and prove to all how beautiful you were to me as the most beautiful thing i saw? Even if i tell them what i saw, would they really have the exact picture of how you blossom? Why? and heard through my heart: You cut me off my root.
Then it strucked me that most honour exist just like that flower without her root that will only decay in just matter of time before our very eyes. I do not know what exactly you cherish; maybe family, work, beauty, wealth etc. not having it connected to its root is disconnecting it from its nutritional source. what is this root? VIRTUE!
Virtue is a word with wide definition, but if i should describe it, i will simply analyze it as Meekness where you find no Weakness.
It is that meekness with a captivating energy to pin any who comes closer with a wish to extend their welcome; that meekness which fetches you from the crowd to secure values in worst time; that same meakness triggers one to share the worst situation and still feels satisfied knowing that you have no solution.
Virtue! Nourishing....springing and healing far away from weakness. when i say weakness i do not mean having any odd personal trait, but standing strong; not subjecting yourself as a garbage ground where any could dump polluting words; Knowing what is right and holding on to it even when it's not in your favour; recognizing the value of what your cherish with the willingness to sacrifice pleasure.
When beaten by sun, strucked from all corners of the earth, you recognize you're carrying something; when your feet burns and hurts your energy multiplies you still stand firm holding high that mantel of honour. Virtue is simply godliness.
A story about a young man privileged to work in a very reputable organization, sweet to entice the interest of all as everyone want to associate with him, this got him whole lot of male friends, female lovers including a special fiancée. Sometimes would throw up parties for his friends to earn their praises with different nick names. Life was all about fun and merry until his attitude got him off his job. Things became really hard and tough; he then ran to his friends to seek help but instead, they made mockery of him and turned away; He decided to try his female lovers, but they’ve all joined the next available train…and his fiancée? She too not excluded. What happened to honour? Honour is dead and ridiculed…but why? Virtue was missing.
For every valuable treasure, life entails us to cross the bridge of victory i.e embarking on a quest. In the course of this quest, there will always be voices singing to us with sweet melodies urging us to look back. Distractions will come appearing in the best possible enticing form, but standing firm regardless of all distractions is what takes us to the Pinnacle of Honour.
The Pinnacle of Honour is the price we must pay to life; it is that sacrifice we must give which qualifies us the Treasure we seek. It is the use of Virtue to prevail over Choice.
Honour is worthless where choice is insignificant (Peace Eze).
For we cannot talk about honour where we do not talk about choice. Someone may ask: How?
If I ask you not to eat an apple and you stick to it because there is no apple, it can’t be recorded that you’ve exhibited honour; but if there is a beautiful, fresh and enticing apple looking and calling you to come eat, yet you choose not, then it becomes recorded as honour.
Life will never give to us what we do not have the will to handle. What distinguish us as success or failure is having the will to reign over choice. Virtue gives us prevalence over the choices we make and fuels us with the willpower to exalt Honour thereby bringing to us that dignified Treasure we seek.
The treasure is worth the price, so do not be discouraged.
Cheers!
