Interpretation of Odu Ifa Ogberikusa

Ifa says whosoever divined ogberikusa should perform sacrifice so that he/she can be promoted/uplifted every year.
IFA says you have lost your respect and honor, people don't fear you or reckon with you any more.
IFA says there is a T-junction close to your house or where you live, at that junction, the witches have their meetings every night.
IFA says you have four enemies, if you can perform sacrifice, the enemies will turn against themselves.
IFA says prepare four plates of pounded yam and three plates of melon soap, place it at that junction in the evening or night.
IFA talks about victory over enemies because some people are making jest of you now.
Ifa talks about taking one’s Ifa to a high place to feed with Guinea fowl.
Ifa says one’s should hold on to his/her ori eleda for his/her hardship, financial crisis and suffering to end.
Ifa sees recovery of ones properties, lost glory and also improvement in economic life.
Ifa says if the person that divined ogberikusa have not yet initiated into Ifa, Ifa says he / she should quickly prepare to enter igbodu.
Ifa says whosoever divined ogberikusa will be connected with foreigners most especially white race.
Ifa sees the client going though nightmare almost every night.
Ifa says whosoever divined ogberikusa should perform sacrifice to prevent death of husband, wife or children .
Ifa says whosoever divined ogberikusa should appease Egbe orun and the witches not to destroy his/her work.
Ifa says whosoever divined ogberikusa is expecting something from someone or he/she is planning to marry, Ifa asks the person to perform sacrifice so that everything will become a reality.

The story :

Orunmila was going through hardship, he wasn’t happy with his financial situation, he was unable to sleep ,anytime he tried to sleep, it always turn to nightmare. Orunmila then decided to consulted Babalawo, and he was asked to Perform sacrifice to restored his peace/rest of mind, his economic life, and his social life. Orunmila was instructed to take his ikin Ifa to a high place to feed his Ifa with Guinea fowl. The Babalawo told Orunmila that the sacrifice must be performed as quick as possible because death, sickness, all various kind of diseases, bad luck, misfortune etc are almost at the door step of Orunmila's house.
Orunmila quickly performed the sacrifice and all evil things were adverted from Orunmila's house.

Akose Ifa :

Empty calabash, pour iyereosun on opon Ifa, mark odu ifa ogberikusa on the iyereosun, and pray to divert all evil not to locate your house, then after pour the iyereosun in the empty calabash and hang it on your stealing/roof.

The story:

Peregun was one of the leaves that lacked alot of things in the past, Peregun took a wise step by consulting a Babalawo to help check it problem of not been among the best leaves. Peregun was asked to use a lot of clothes (leaves) for sacrifice which it compiled and all this clothes stick to it and become one of the riches leaves till today, in both raining and dry sea*ons, Peregun always comes out with new clothes (leaves).

Akose Ifa:

The newly coming leaves of Peregun, grind it together with soap, pour iyereosun on your opon Ifa, mark odu Ifa ogberikusa, then add the iyereosun with the grinded soap that you have already mixed with Peregun leaves, put in a white bowl and use to take your bath every morning or night.

Akose Ifa:

Emin esin, skin of hyaena, one alligator pepper, put all in a clay black pot and burnt them together till it becomes powder, pour it grinding stone and mark odu Ifa ogberikusa on the powder then use soap to mix it on the grinding stone, put it in a calabash that has a cover, place it beside your Ifa and take from it to have your bath every morning.

The story:

Ogun was very sick, he was sick to the point of death, then Ogun decided to consult Babalawo moriwo'pe, Ogun was asked to perform sacrifice and also initiate into Ifa, Ogun did as he was instructed and became healed and rich.

Akose Ifa:

Cow heart, cut it to 16 pieces, pour a grinded powder of dry rib of human being skeleton, add pepper, palm oil, locust beans, and salt to cook it, after it's ready for eaten, then mark odu Ifa ogberikusa on iyereosun, pray to it and pour it on the cooked meat, eat when it's hot with alot of dry gin.

The story:

Orunmila was seeking for a blessed wife because he lost interest and trust in those living with him, he has been dreaming of a river goddess, but he never meet her once, Orunmila decided to consult a Babalawo and he was asked to perform sacrifice so that he can meet the river goddess to marry as soon as possible. Orunmila married the goddess and his fortune and lost glory was restored, then Orunmila started singing to praise the river goddess that she is a good wife.

Ogberikusa

Verse 1

Owo lo ri iyan owo yo ike. Agbado ojo nio se mulukumuluku adifa fun ose kan soso ogbe ti yo gbe ikin re si aja bo nitori iku ebo lawo pe kose... Iku wole mi Kobami keregbe ofifo iku oma ku arin nu.. Arun wole mi ko bami keregbe ofifo arun o ma ku Arin nu

Translation:

The hand became straighten and bend at the elbow
The leaders were walking together
Ifa divination was performed for one side of Ogbe
That will carry his Ifa to the roof/stealing to feed to avert death
He was asked to perform sacrifice, which he complied
Death came to my house and did meet me
I have used an empty calabash to performed sacrifice
So therefore death you are on useless mission
Sickness came to my house and couldn't find me
I have used an empty calabash to performed sacrifice
Sickness you are on a useless mission
Misfortune came to my house and didn't see me
I have used an empty calabash to performed sacrifice

Translation:

Ogbe sarara Ogbe soro performed divination for Peregun that people thought he will soon die
Peregun was asked to perform sacrifice which he did has instructed
Peregun became healthy and refused to die
Every sea*on Peregun is bless with new clothes and became rich

Verse 3

Ikekere eyin ase adifa fun famuregun nijo to ti un rin ti ko ko ire ebo lawo pe kose osigbe ebo o tubo.. Ire mi arinako ni un o ko, ikoko loni un o ko ire temi ire mi arinako ni ounko gege ni imin esin se ti fi ko ara won

Translation:

Ikekerere eyin ase performed Ifa divination for famuregun that was crying for luck
He was asked to perform sacrifice and he complied
He started singing that:
" I will meet my destiny on my way
Ikoko (clay pot) says I will meet my fortune
I will meet my luck on my way"
Horses of the same height
Will surely stand together to meet
For this rea*on I must stand to meet my fortune.

Verse 4

Ogbe sara ra ogbe sororo adifa fun moriwo ope lojo ti oun lore te ogun nifa ebo lawope kose.. Igba moriwo te ogun nifa ara ogun si le koko

Translation:

Ogbe Sarara Ogbe sororo
Perform Ifa divination for moriwo ope that went to initiated Ogun into Ifa
Immediately moriwo'pe initiated Ogun into Ifa, Ogun became heal and became rich

Rodo rodo kando kando adifa fun orunmila nijo ti lore gbe olu odo ni iyawo ebo lawo pe kose.. Osigbe ebo nibe otubo se olu odo aya rere orunmila logbe olu odo ni iyawo olu odo aya rere.....

Translation:

Rodo rodo kando kando
Ifa divination was performed for Orunmila on the day he wanted to go and marry the river goddess as wife
He was asked to performed sacrifice which he complied
The river goddess is a good wife
Orunmila married river goddess and he started singing that river goddess is a good wife.

Ogbe sarara ogbe sororo adifa fun ariori ti se omo ekun lenpe ebo lawo pe kose.. Ire aje ile mi di animon Omo ekun lenpe..... Ire gbogbo MI di animon Omo ekun lenpe

Translation:

Ogbe Sarara Ogbe sororo
Ifa divination was performed for ariori the child of ekun lenpe
He was asked to performed which he complied
Then after wealth located the house of ariori the child of ekun lenpe
All riches and wealth will locate my house like ariori the child of ekun lenpe

Translation:

Ogberikusa is an initiate of the house of alara
Performed divination for alara

And ori complied and because rich.

The taboos:

1, don't eat horse meat
2, always dress good , nice and neat like a rich person
3, don't eat snake meat
4, always wear white clothes
5, you belong to egberun and always appease the witches, and also feed your egberun frequently or regularly

Prescription for the sacrifice:

Snacks, fruits, different kinds of food/meal, white cloth, basket, two c**k and two hen, bush rat, black clay pot, pap, palm oil, dry gin and money.

About the Author:
Araba Opeola Ojeniyi Oyeleke was born into the traditional family of Dr. S M Opeola, of Alawiye Compound, Edunabon, ife North Local Government, Osun State, Nigeria, West Africa.
His great grandmother, Omirinu Fagbowore, was a worshiper of Olodumare.
Opeola Ojeniyi Oyeleke was introduced to the secrets of Egungun cult at his early age (9years), where he wore the Eku Egungun (Egungun mask) for the first time. He was also initiated into ifa (igbodu) and Yoruba kabbalah practice at the age of 12 years.
He received both ifa and orisa training under his late father (Araba) for 8years and later went to Benin Republic to trained under a close friend of his father, Araba Ifagbemilleke for 4 years, he later gained admission into Obafemi Awolowo University in 2009 to 2013 to studied Political Science Education.
He came back in order play the role of information manager at his late father’s temple (Ifa Yoruba Kabbalah temple). Within 2 years of managing his father’s temple he became the Oluwo Ifanla Ogbeate Temple and Amore of Egungun in his home town, his father also gave him his blessing before he joined his ancestors. After his father's passage, the temple installed him as Araba of the temple.

Solutions to problems that can be caused [or may be caused] by egbe orun [spiritual mates or groups in heaven].
I have explained various types and categories of egbe orun in my previous article on egbe orun. At this time I will be explaining the connection of egbe orun with orisa like egungun, oshun, yemoja, olokun, awon iyami etc.

The concept of egbe means group. A single person cannot be referred to as group. Egbe means that one belongs to a group. Before you can be associated with a group called egbe, you must have a source and a knowledge of the source where the egbe reside, and that source [place of origin] is orun.

Orun to most people means heaven which is generally accepted, but the location of orun is the problem here. Some believe orun is the sky like according to the biblical and islamic belief which is very wrong. Orun has no single geographical location.

There are different forms of orun even though there are some Ifá myths that talk about the orisa descending from heaven to the earth.
Orun here isn’t walking or trekking from the sky to the earth in the real sense of interpretation. This is just a stage of pregnancy to the delivery stage. The mother’s womb here is considered to be orun if we connect it to scientific proof or research. I am including science because history has now become a science and it must be proved or backed up with facts.

Since we believe that there are families in heaven we therefore believe we have all existed in heaven before coming to the earth.

Odu Ifá Ogbe Ogunda [ogbe eguntan, ogbeyonu, ogbesuru] talks about three friends living in heaven who went to ajala amo ti ori or ajala mori mori in orun to choose their destiny. These people have formed egbe right from heaven before coming to the earth.
They got to the place where they would choose their destiny. Only one of three friends, who went by the name Afunwape the child of Agboniregun, was able to choose the best destiny. The other two friends of Afunwape went by the names of Orisanku omo ogun and Elemere omo oja.

Ogbe ogunda [ogbeyonu/ogbe eguntan/ogbesuru]

These three friends descended from heaven to the earth. After getting to the earth things were not going okay for the two friends Orisanku and Elemere. They couldn’t feed [nourish and properly take care of themselves l] or do anything without seeing Afunwape. The two friends Orisanku and Elemere that choose the bad destiny [the wrong path] right from heaven formed an egbe amongst themselves and getting to the earth they must also form egbe.

If they fail to locate themselves [to spiritually find and understand themselves and their situation] or if by they failed to locate Afunwape on earth they would suffer and they will find things difficult. Life won’t be easy for them at all because they had been joined together to share one destiny right from heaven before getting to the earth. If they finally managed to meet Afunwape they would be blessed because Afunwape will be more successful than the others therefore the others would have to depend on him to achieve their goals. This was the destiny they choose that without Afunwape they would be incomplete and suffer and that with Afunwape they would be compete and prosper. If they got separated from Afunwape it could have possibly been because they were jealous of Afunwape because he chose a better path or they might resentfully and unjustly rea*on that Afunwape was using them to fulfill his own destiny!

With this kind of backward thinking who do you think would suffer the most among the three friends? With this analysis and background information we can see and understand that these three friends had formed themselves into an egbe so that working together they would achieve a perfect live on earth. This is the agreement that they had made right from heaven and therefore they formed an egbe on earth too.

Unless Orisanku and Elemere want to suffer or choose to experience suffering that will be the only rea*on why they would leave, reject or neglect Afunwape. This kind of situation is still happening today where people break up and ruin the prospects of a good destiny due to jealousy, defamation, slander or wrongful accusations. They reject the helper and promoter of their good potential and possible good destiny because of ignorantly and foolishly thinking that there helper is using or usurping what they believed was their individual good destiny to make himself shine.

Odu-Ifá Osa Meji talks about how seven orisa descended from heaven to the earth while having a woman known as Odu to accompany and complement them. While in Odu Ifá Ose Otura talks about Osun following the male orisa to the earth and then formed a family and society. The words mentioned here as family and society means egbe].

Let’s discuss about activities in orun before descending to the earth. It is believed that one chooses his/her destiny in orun before coming to the earth which is mostly regarded as ori eleda. After that one moves on to esu oni bode (esu the gate keeper ) who will ask what we are going to the earth to do. When coming back to heaven after our activities on earth, the esu oni bode will still ask if our mission on earth was accomplished. Everything we want to do on the earth will be revealed at the entrance (the gate in between heaven and the earth.

Now let’s link this aspect to egbe orun. Each family or group existed in heaven. Having learned and known that orun [heaven] isn’t a single geographical location, those who are from the river, ocean, sea, lake, stream, under the earth, trees, bush, forest, space etc have this location as the source of their orun and has been a member of this group over there. A single person can’t be find in this location unless he is a member of the group. That is why it is called egbe or family or group, which is where this member of egbe orun originated from. There are many families over there. Wherever we originated from as a member of that location that is our basic connection to egbe orun for example those that exists in the tree, air, banana plantation, under the earth and there are even some who originated from dumping ground or sugarcane plantation.

These are all locations people can belong to as egbe except for those who reincarnated back into a family lineage whom have become egbe orun by egungun which is considered to be ancestors.

Each location of orun has a realm where people live together and form a family, and when things get to a certain point they will make a decision of going to the earth with some certain promises. Such as husband leaving his wife to the earth, mother leaving children and husband, father leaving his wife and children, brothers coming with theirs sisters (i.e twins) brother coming with brother (i.e twins), sister coming with sister (i.e twins), friends coming to the earth for a certain period of time being the children of the same parents. While same goes with wife leading the husband and children to come to the earth.

Getting to the earth and automatically for a wife who left her husband in orun for the earth will encounter this husband spirit as heavenly husband, while husband leaving his wife in orun while traveling to earth will face the same situation of having heavenly husband based on the promises made to each other before they descended to the earth. Once there is a failure of agreement, then there will be a problem of heavenly husband/wife disturbing the husband/wife on earth making their relationship to be unsuccessful or unproductive, while some heavenly husband/wife won’t let their partner to marry someone else on earth.

Not in all cases people that have spiritual husband or wife have relationship in orun. There are situations whereby certain dynamics of egbe orun they will create a spiritual husband or wife for them simply to put them to suffer on earth.

There are people that belong to egbe orun who don’t have a spiritual husband or wife yet they still face attacks by their egbe orun simply because their egbe orun want them to be aware that they belong to egbe orun. That is why their egbe keep creating problems and misfortune for them on their way and as a result of this attack and misfortune they will seek help from a spiritualist or a spiritual helper and be made aware that they have egbe orun. Once these people feed and appease their egbe orun their problems will be solved.

Let’s discuss about a member of egbe orun who becomes a witch or invited to be a witch. This normally happens when a member of egbe orun becomes a leader, this position as a leader will attract Awon Iyami to invite such person to join their group or family (egbe) because Awon Iyami are egbe (group) too. Failure to do so by the person may result in affecting such persons life negatively.

Finally let us further our discussion on how orun [heaven] which gives each member the link to become egbe can affect such person. To begin with you must know your link or connection with egbe or as a member of egbe. Have it in mind that link is your source and must not ever be forgotten. Never ignore or reject your source of membership because that will help you to appease your egbe. Always remember to appease the orisa that made you become a member of egbe. You should initiate into egbe orun if possible. Initiation into egbe orun may necessary, voluntary or compulsory. One should initiate whenever one has the resources and the same goes for initiating into the orisa that made you to belong to egbe.

I have seen situations where people think that they were being affected by their egbe orun. Erroneously thinking, that there problems were egbe related they keep appeasing their egbe orun, yet they experience no positive or beneficial results or relief, simply because they are not appeasing the right orisa to solve their problem. Instead of appeasing the orisa that needed to be appeased, they were appeasing egbe in this particular instance, when egbe did not need to be appeased. We must know and understand when we must appease egbe to solve a particular problems and when to appease the orisa to solve a particular problem.

This means that someone can be doing the wrong thing, making a strong and determined effort but in the wrong direction. Their problem or problems will persist until they appease and feed the right orisa. I have also seen a situation where someone was appeasing the orisa that got him connected to egbe and I don’t know, maybe the person was aware of belonging to egbe, but with all the sacrifices, rituals and efforts that were made to the orisa nothing changed, and it was only after they appeased egbe orun that they got the positive and desired result.

I will make use of my own case as an example. I got connected with egbe orun through egungun because before I was born there was a prophecy of my coming as my great grandfather, which means I have lived before and have come to the earth for the second time. I initiated into orisa egungun and Ifá right from my young age. My initiation into egungun was when I was 8 years old and I initiated into Ifá when I was 12 years old.

I noticed that I always get all my requests granted whenever I appease orisa egungun. Whenever I appease egbe orun, I may not see any result or get the desired result as quick as I would like or want. I get the response and solutions in slow and gradual stages or phases. There have been many times or occasions that there was a delay of some sort before my request was fulfilled by egbe. Then I consulted Ifá with this observation in mind, then I discovered my that my ori eleda [my destiny] is more attach to my orisa egungun through whom I got connected to egbe and became a member of egbe orun than egbe orun themselves.

It is the truth or a fact that I have egbe orun or let me say that I belong to egbe. I am not attacked or adversely affected by my egbe because they have little or no influence or impact on my life because my main spiritual strength comes from orisa egunun, whereas anytime that I ignore or neglect orisa egungun I deprive myself of his blessings, benefits and protection. Therefore I always see and experience the negative impact or losses when I ignore or neglect orisa egungun. When I listen to orisa egungun and closely follow his directions I always experience and receive great blessings, benefits, happiness and the joy of having my requests quickly answered and my problems quickly solved.

Here are the likely solution to solving ones problems that may be caused by [or originate in] egbe orun. I have noticed some spiritual healers, spiritual helpers or babalawos who always make the mistake of seeing or considering this egbe orun issue as singular and unconnected spirituality reality, not knowing it entails a lot inside [a lot of things] than merely feeding or appeasing egbe orun only. They leave out or are not aware of others factors like: What of people that have the problem of having a spiritual husband or wife? And what of people who have already been negatively affected due to their neglect of their orisa by his/her orisa, that made them to become members of a certain class of egbe orun? You cannot present or add two different problems to egbe because they have no right to intervene in other orisa’s matters. Every orisa works independently. Problems of spiritual husband or wife was as a result of ones promises, vow or pledge in heaven before coming to the earth.

The problem of being disciplined by a displeased orisa is often a result of an unfulfilled promise, vow or pledge that we made to our ori eleda when choosing an orisa to guide us and help us to accomplish our mission on earth.

let me say that egbe orun is the major link for you to know your existence before coming to the earth, and failure to recognize or be aware of this is a problem which will result in your other mates in heaven (egbe orun) to bother you or to agitate you to get your attention, because egbe orun can clearly see that you have forgotten and neglected them. The solution is these, problems is to be resolved one by one. Let us not mix the different possible problems together.

In regard to the issues related to spiritual husbands or wives ones should appease and feed his/her egbe orun and by making a declaration that one will not longer neglect them and by seeking the approval of his/her egbe orun so that he/she can divorce his/her spiritual wife/husband today. His/Her egbe orun should accept the request then after a consultation should be made [or a divination should be performed] to know the next step should be such as if they are going to the stream to do the separation, if it will be done at the river bank, banana plantation, sugarcane plantation, a big dumping ground site etc.

Those who don’t have a spiritual husband or wife can appease their egbe orun and make a confessional declaration that they have identified, recognized and acknowledged them their egbe orun and that they admit that they belong to egbe orun from the present moment onward. They will make the honest vow, pledge or promise that they will always feed their egbe orun in return their egbe orun will always bless them, fight for them, protect them and never lunch an attack on them anymore since they have recognized and united with them from the actual present moment onward.

Those who do not have a spiritual husband or wife but yet are experiencing negative effects or have been intentionally or unintentionally negatively effect by egbe orun should first do a divination to find out the rea*ons for this problems or to see if it is the orisa that for unknown rea*ons is affecting them negatively. Feeding of Egbe in Ifá Yoruba Kabbalah practices is unique and interesting. In fact you will love the proceedings. It does not require you to wear any special form of clothes, not to talk of carrying the ebo to any location such as T-junction, river bank, banana plantation, dumping ground etc.

Based on the materials used then you will understand it is good to give the orisas what you can eat and stop giving the orisas what you can’t eat. The orisas are spirit, they wont appeared live to eat the materials but they get feed through what we ate.

Let’s share some of the steps:

The Orisa Egbe will be placed in front of the person that wants to feed egbe. The Orisa represents egbe orun while we present represent egbe Aiye.

The person feeding Egbe must sit on Apere, while the Iya Olorisa must also sit on Apere. Both will sit on Apere.

There must be a trusted person or a loved ones which we commonly refers to as guarantor simply because the person must known the person’s feeding Egbe Orun prayer points or requests. The person is mandated to prayer for the person’s feeling egbe orun with a pure heart and clean mind. Another rea*on could be seen as joint in communication with the spirit at that moment like a president and vice -president because both must eat same things without any difference. The babalawo must also be present because he will be the one to throw the kolanut and other interested person can be present also.

The iya olorisa will put all the materials on egbe before we start to eat. All the materials will be eaten in the presence of Orisa Egbe Orun, while the person feeding Egbe Orun and the guarantor eat first before any other person.

Egbe orun are of two types:
Benevolent are those who belong to egbe orun and they are not affected by their Egbe orun, instead there Egbe orun bring luck on their way, most time these people doesn't notice they have Egbe orun, it is people around them that will tell them based on the undeserved fortune they are receiving from there Egbe orun.
And in some Cases they may be aware they belong to egbe orun based on the situation and their experience, because they will realised they have spiritual back up when they started noticing they are getting unnecessary favours, too much of luck etc.
It doesn't matters if they are close to their egbe orun or not, it has no effect on them, but getting close to their egbe orun like appeasing and feeling their egbe orun will help them more.
It seem these kind of people have paid their egbe orun's dues before coming to the earth, they are not disturbed by their egbe orun for once not to talk of their egbe orun putting them into hardship or suffering.

The malevolent type is the opposite in meaning to the benevolent type.

They make life difficult and unbearable for those who fall into these categories, that such person may even regret coming to the earth.
They bring suffering, hardship and sorrow, it even become worse if you are not close to them.

There is no way or excuse of not been aware of the malevolent egbe orun, no way you will notice you have egbe orun or you belong to egbe orun with the kind of suffering, hardship and sorrow they bring on your way.
Malevolent egbe orun put you to suffer simply to notice you have egbe orun, and for those who don't notice they have egbe orun by the signs given such as dream, getting angry easily, change of mood without knowing the cause, disappointment in relationships, out of luck, get promises from people and they later failed you etc are in trouble because they may end up committing su***de and that's what the malevolent egbe orun requested from them, malevolent egbe orun are waiting for your death, because the plan is to make you return back to heaven as quickly as possible.
Malevolent egbe orun shouldn't trust hope, no matter what you do, you can't be lucky like the benevolent ones, getting close to them is to reduce the suffering and the hardship, it has no solution, feeding and appeasing them is a regular things that must be done and that doesn't solve it all, no permanent solution. That's why I said don't trust hope, it seem those who belong to malevolent egbe orun don't pay their dues before coming to the earth.

After many attempts of solving the problem of the malevolent egbe orun and failed, some loses hope and get it wrong by living an uncared life style but don't loose hope because one day you may get it right but at the same time don't trust hope.
Having known the types of Egberun then let's examining the categories.
There are different categories of Egberun. Before examining the different types, in these categories, it’s vital to point out what most people do not know about Egberun. It’s also important to state that anything seen and unseen exist physically and spiritually, and connected to either human existence or not. In most cases they always take human forms or images. The examples are, Egbe Awon Agba/Awon Iyami known as witches, Osun, Olokun, and Yemoja, There is equally what those not properly schooled in traditional spirituality regard as “spirit”. Some spirits poccess human body/image in different ways, some others are immortal, The familiar spirits include Oro inu Igi, Iwin inu Igbo, Alujannu inu afefe etc. All are still Egberun and people belong through these means.

Categories of Egbe Orun
1) Names of this spiritual aspect differ due to language barrier and geographical locations. That does not mean we will not mention some of the names we are familiar with, such as Abiku and Emere where necessary. There are some members of Egberun that brings good luck and fortune immediately they are born into a family. When this kind of children are born into a family, the family witnesses a rapid financial change, the child improves the family status such as the family reputation, welfare, economy and wealth. This kind of children come into a family as a result of reincarnation of one’s departed family member(s) such as one’s late child, brother, sister, relative, parent, grandparent and in some cases, through death of neighbours.

Such children come back to earth to help those they are destined to help. Some of them come back based on the assumption that the person they were suppose to help wasn’t born during their life time, and as a result, come back as the person's child to help such people or families.
A child of this nature reincarnates into one’s family as a result of good heart and bond of charity towards other people, more especially when helping those in need. It’s possible that their family lineage can divert these fortune children to another family.

I cannot say for sure whether the children of this nature are good or not because they do not live long. They die at young age, because they are destined to help their family status. However, with sacrifices, rituals and prayers, some of them survive, but the implication is always negative. For those whose parents are wise, they appease their children's Egberun to stay forever and to also keep their fortune. It should be noted that helping a family status doesn't mean money, riches or wealth alone. It could be in any form. Some parents believe that separating those children from their Egberun is the only solution. But, separation is not the solution because some of such children trick religious clerics and local healers by not leaving on a predetermined date, which make their parents think their spirit-child has come to stay, I have seen some of them leaving the earth at the age of 30.
2) Some Egberun naturally chose good fortunes for themselves when coming to earth. This type of children always get whatever they seek or what they need by mere thinking. They easily find other people's lost valuable property. Their wishes and thoughts always come to pass without any stress. Their thinking/thought is like a prayer, They are favoured, luck always walk on their path, they are loved by people, they get rich based on the destiny they have chosen, they are blessed with long life which is also part of their destiny. These children are born to be rich no matter their family problem or generation curse. They are always popular and well-known in whatever they do. It is their Egberun that is bring them good fortunes because nothing is impossible for them.

In most cases, they are females. Their good fortunes affect their husbands’ lives positively. But, some of them face the problem of not able to bear kids, They always go barren. Despite their love to help, they still face a lot of criticism. Those who are close to them, accused them of using other people's destiny. Some ignorant husbands accuse their wives of manipulating their destinies, and those who don't envy their wives, refuse to accept any gift from them. It should be noted that some of them are males also. The females tend to be more. Generally, they belong to Orisa Olokun that blesses them with wealth.

3) The third category are the Egberun who get rich immediately after their teenage age. They also have luck on their side, acquire wealth, properties, and big business players. They are known because of their financial attractions and they are mostly from poor families. Family members see them as God sent helpers and widely considered as pillars of their families. They help other people who are not members of their family. They are easily identified in the society because they always engage in businesses and seldom go into partnership. Their other aspect is that they don’t work under any body, governmental or non-governmental organizations. They are masters and always find themselves in anything involving competition because they will triumph. Sadly, they don’t live long. They die before their golden age, and for those who are lucky among them don’t live up to 60 years.

4) There are different types of Abiku: Dead inside a mother’s womb. Die at the point of delivery. Die few minutes/hour(s) after delivery. These categories are considered or regarded as born and die the same day. Die before 8th day of the naming ceremony. Some live minutes before they are named. And some others die after their naming ceremony. They came to punish their parents. In some instances, a mother suffers for giving birth to an Abiku as a result of a sanction Egberun placed on her husband. Some Abiku target their fathers regardless the number of wives they marry, there is always a challenge with getting a child. An Abiku is regarded as a misfortune child and the motive is to punish their parents. Their parents tend to give them names that is a plea for them to stay. Such names are, Durotimi, Remilekun, Aiyelagbe, Ropo, kokumo, Ikumapayi, Malomo, among others.

5) Emere/Elere Omo, is another aspect of Egberun. The impact of this type is always negative. Very few are positive among them. Children of this nature are born into the family to suffer or bring misfortune into their families. Usually, they are born into rich families and automatically make their families poor. Even those born into poor families still affect their families’ well-being and welfare negatively, pulling them from poverty to wreck.
Emere derives pleasure in seeing their family members suffer. They hate whosoever wants to separate them from their Egberun. And immediately they are born, bad things start to happen in their families. They like being the only child, and can be recognised by their looks. They always appear slim, some not pretty, with an insignificant few cute and very pretty. Most of them are light in complexion and they love keeping their hairs without fixing or attaching anything.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not inferring that there are no good Emere, and no fat body Emere or no dark skinned ones. I am only considering the major aspects.

6) The last aspect most people belong to is very wide in dimension. This is where most people realize that they have Egberun or belong to one because of the protracted suffering in their lives.
This aspect involves positive and negative results. Egberun always inflict those that belong to the group with problems/hardship and in return, requires them to feed it regularly. While some are so lucky in feeding theirs because it quickly accepts their offering, some are lucky to feed theirs once in a life time, and get liberated from the vicious cycle of suffering.

While some others are expected to feed their Egberun once in a year, others have to do it regularly depending on the sequence required. Egberun knows when their suffering will end because it is their Egberun that own their fortunes. The question then is, why are things different in this category, with some feeing their Egberun once and for others it is regular affair?.

That's why I said this category is wide, very wide. Feeding and appeasing Egberun is the solution to some, while some others have to go the extra mile like performing rituals and sacrifices to Awon Iyami, feeding the Egberun,Egungun, Osun, Yemoja, Olokun etc and also engage in using Eyonu, Asina, Ebe awon Agba and Atude etc to solve their problems. Some ladies have to marry a babalawo or spiritualist to help in solving their problems since it require a lot of efforts by babalawo, Alfa, Woli to help solve such people's problem.

For instance, a young woman recently came to my office to consult on how to get her challenges resolved. She disclosed that wherever she went to solve her Egberun's problem, those she approached, tried to marry her. She wanted to know if marrying her will also be our pre-condition. We answered her in the negative, insisting that her money will go all the length for her. Another woman shared her experience with us, claiming how a babalawo asked her to leave her husband to marry a babalawo like her friend did, because she wasn't able to conceive.

There many not too pleasant instances all over the place. We have seen a situation where a lady was tricked to marry a babalawo, She had Egberun which made her to be suffering from one problem to another. Though her problem didn’t require marrying a babalawo, she was tricked into the marriage because of her beauty. There is this matter of one of our friends who needed a spiritual healing. He was given the requirements. Unable to provide them, he ran to one of the white garment churches around. He later died. His tragic end came from the wife he married. He got married to a rich beautiful lady he never knew belonged to Egberun. The said woman had the problem of giving birth. He did not get the woman to marry by fair means.

Unlike our late friend, some others like him are quite lucky. They resort to appeasing the Egberun and get positive results with immediate effect. The truth is, things seem to be right when these people are young. In some cases, some are born to suffer right from their young age till adulthood. Egberun creates problems just to get recognized. Most people don't understand the signs from Egberun, thus bringing about their travails. Ignoring tradition makes matters worse.

These are some of the signs Egberun give: Dreaming of water in any form such as seeing river, ocean, sea, stream, drawing water from well known as Kanga, seeing water in bowl or clay pot known as Oru, also dreaming of Oru filled with materials from the sea such as Cowry shells, Sea Snall, Salt etc
Dreaming of swimming in a pool, stream, river, ocean, sea etc and having s*x. Dreaming of having meeting in the river, stream, pool, ocean, sea etc or seeing people dressed in white cloth. Dreaming of sleeping on top of a river, pool, sea, ocean, stream etc, sometimes you woke up and find your hair soak with water which confirmed you have been swimming as if what happened is real. Dreaming of a party, in any location such as the location you are use to, space, sky, moon, sun, in the grave/graveyard or where you have never been before, such location may be in the water like river, ocean, sea, pool, stream or on land which can be in your house, neighbourhood or a house you have once lived before, your present house, rented house that you have lived before, the school you went to, your place of worship such as shrine, temple, church or mosque, family compound, river bank, banana plantation, forest, inside a tree, rock, a big dumping/refuse site, a big hall, viewing centre, it can also be in the market or hospital. Dreaming of flying in the sky and also dreaming of finding oneself on high place or top most building, is either you fear to fall or you finally fell.

Others include, dreaming of seeing fish(ies) like cat fish, tilapia etc and also fruit(s) such as apple, banana, orange etc. You can also dream of eating with people.
Getting pregnant in dream or carrying baby, backing baby or nursing children in dream, having naming ceremony, festival or fest in dream, getting married in dream, becoming a mother in dream, doing house warming ceremony in dream, birthday celebration, promotion party, marrying to husband / wife in dream, including living as a family or polygamy in dream, seeing babies in dream that belong to you and also having children already in Orun and on earth you are barren or you seek those things you dream off to be accomplished on earth.
Dreaming of market, either you went to buy something or you visited the market and also seeing masquerades in your dream. You are sick that you loose weight and yet the doctors doesn't find the cause of your sickness but yet you dreamt of recovery among the most of people , woman most time, wearing white cloths, Traveling overseas in dream or living big and luxury life in dream and yet you are poor on earth all this are still signs of Egberun
Waking up to find scratch(es) on your body or up to find your bed soaked with water as well as up to get angry, transferring aggression without knowing the cause of your bad mood, and sometimes getting moody whenever in a relationship.
Flying on the sky or running (try to escape) from enemies and suddenly start to fly while some jump or fall from a top building, some even walk into a pit or jump into fire.
Dreaming of Ile orun/ilerun or even dreaming of seeing any Orisa(s) directly.
Note: Ilerun / Ile Orun is where Orisa(s) are kept.
Dreaming of meeting your self at the river bank, either in mist of people or not, all these are still signs of Egbe Orun.
Most ladies and guys that are flirt are as a result of Egberun, they are always unfaithful, urge for s*x, some are heart brokers, they don't fall in love or have feelings.
Some ladies are h***y whenever they see guys not because they are not circumcised like people believe but they are under the influence of Egberun.
Thinking of sleeping with all the ladies/guys in the world, please know that you are under the influence of Egberun. Most believe s*x is Sweet, while those suffering from Egberun may refuse to marry because of their phobia for s*x.
Some gals / guys remain single simply because they don't want to have anything to do with guys / gals while some ladies decided to marry a fellow woman like them only to keep guys away.

Yes, it's true, and don't ever think isn't possible, first whosoever belongs to Egberun either by any of this means such as Osun, Yemoja, Olokun etc and processes the highest spiritual power like becoming a leader where she belong, automatically her position will attract Awon Iyami and surely Awon Iyami will want or encourage such person to go to the highest level by inviting her to their mist, if such person fail to realise this, then it will become a problem, they will start suffering that person till she join them.
This aspect I want to discuss with you is one of the important aspect of Egberun.

Firstly, if you are misplacing your things, despite you kept them save but yet you still fall victim of searching, seeking or looking for those things/materials you kept, which you may later find if you are lucky, while the unlucky ones will loose these things/materials forever, such things include cloth, money, wrist watch, necklace, under wears, shoes, important documents etc, all these are still part of Egberun's signs, another signs of Egberun that we need to consider is for those who finds money in their cloth or in their cloth's pocket, they usually finds money in their cloth or in cloth's pocket after a long period of time of wearing such cloth, although they must have long wore the cloth which gives confusion of doubt in their mind whether they forgot the money in their pocket. Secondly if you find yourself in this condition or situation, like going into different business within a short period of time but yet you are unsuccessful or you loose interest in anything you do easily.

Let me explain further, some people will engaged in so many business within a short period of time and yet they will still look up to another business to get them rich or they believe the new business or job they want to engage will benefit them. Some people that are affected by Egberun attack, they can even be training under a master/teacher as an apprentice, but yet they won't finish their training under them before they go to another place or master to learn another business or profession, yes get me right I repeat, the problem is that they won't finish one training before going to another one. Whenever you ask them why they left their former business they will give you an excuse that they don't know the rea*on why, they can even say they loose interest due to some charges or they are tired of it.

The cause of this is simple, in case you don't know, they loose interest in any thing they do or engage in simply because their Egberun is disturbing their economic life.
Above, losing interest in ones relationship with others such as one's spouse or friend, are still part of Egberun's signs, some will just quite their relationship without any rea*on, while some that have married or given birth will be tired of their relationship or marriage and quite/ divorce for no rea*on. I have seen people building different houses without completing any of it, they won't complete one before building another one which at the end, both will abandon, all these are still signs of Egberun.
Another problem is that Egberun can make someone venture into so many business and attack the person with poverty not until he/she get to the right business or job, for example I have tried so many business before I became a babalawo, people that known me years back when I was into Web designing, then I was a programmer, later I left website designing to art work, where I became famous and popularly known as OBAD "Original Black Art Design" from artwork I venture into graphics designing and painting but yet I was unsuccessful because I loose interest in all these business until I went back to my father (Dr S M Opeola, the Founder of Ifa Yoruba Kabbalah Temple) to confirmed what he told me when I was in secondary school that my destiny says I will become a babalawo, that was how I got it right and till today, I never regret been a babalawo or loose interest in my profession as babalawo, but that doesn't mean I won't add another work or job to my profession in future, I have a plan of doing things that will boost my awo's work.
