What happens when the Spirit Starves and the Flesh Feeds?

This image is a prophetic illustration of a widespread condition in the Body of Christ:

The overfed flesh and the starved spirit. At first glance, the painting is quite jarring A man overflowing with food and comfort while beside him sits a skeletal figure, frail, neglected, yet bearing a cross. This contrast between the gluttonous flesh and the famished spirit captures a sobering spiritual truth: you cannot feed your flesh daily and expect your spirit to thrive.

I. The Fat Flesh: A Life Ruled by Carnality

The overweight man in the image represents the believer whose life is governed by the appetites of the flesh—comfort, entertainment, pleasure, and indulgence. Galatians 5:17 says,

"For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would."

When the flesh is continually fed, it becomes dominant, and the voice of the Holy Spirit is drowned out. Netflix is on, but the Bible stays closed. The social media feed is refreshed, but the soul remains dry. This is what happens when our carnal man is king and our spiritual man is a prisoner.

II. The Starving Spirit: A Soul Deprived of God

The emaciated figure bearing the cross is the spirit of the believer—still marked by Christ, but neglected and malnourished. This is the spirit that once longed for God’s presence, hungered for His Word, and delighted in communion—but has now been left to die in the shadow of worldly pursuits. Jesus said in Matthew 4:4:

"Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."

Without Deliverance, the Word, prayer, worship, and intimacy with God, the spirit becomes weak, ineffective, and voiceless—even while the body thrives externally.

III. The Danger of This Condition: Misalignment with Heaven

Romans 8:13 warns us,

"For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye

She Taught, While Her Child Was Sent Home

Some years ago, in one of the schools I taught…
I witnessed something that broke me in pieces.

A fellow teacher — a woman of great dignity stood before her students,
teaching with power, voice calm, chalk steady, as if nothing was wrong.
But behind that strength… was a heart silently bl€€ding.

Just an hour before, her only child had been sent home from that same school for owing school fees that had piled up for multiple terms.
This was a teacher… not a stranger.
A woman who had taught hundreds of children.
Who stayed back to mark. Who sacrificed sleep for lesson notes.
Who borrowed money just to keep her child enrolled.
Still… it was no longer enough.

The school said, “We’ve tried.”
The management had to send the child away because the debt was too much.

So imagine this:
She’s teaching other people’s children…
while her own child is at home, unable to learn.

That image?
It cru$hed me.

I saw her standing there — dressed in a teacher's wrap that I personally helped her wash,
smiling through pa!n, explaining algebra to kids who had never missed a school day in their lives.
Her smile tried to hide the truth — but her eyes?
Her eyes screamed a s0rr0w only teachers truly understand.

Right there in that moment, I did what I never thought I would do.
I pledged half of my salary just to make sure her child would not miss school again.

And when I told her?
She br0ke down. Right in front of me.
Tears fell like a flood. She held my hand and kept whispering,
"God will bless you... God will bless you..."

But that day wasn’t about me.
It was a reminder of how low we teachers have been pushed.
We give everything.
We teach doctors, engineers, presidents, lawyers, yet we can't afford
to give our own children what we give to others.

We carry the future of nations…
with empty pockets and broken hearts.

Dear Nigeria,
When will teachers stop being treated like tools and start being seen as treasures?
When will we be able to afford

Laugh small ooo🤣🤣
An IGBO man walks into a bank in LAGOS and asks for the loan officer. He tells the loan officer that he is going to DUBAI on business for four weeks and needs to borrow #5,000.

The bank officer tells him that the bank will need some form of security for the loan, so the IGBO man hands over the keys to a brand new Mercedes Benz S class 500 parked on the street in front of the bank. He produces the log book and everything checks out. The loan officer agrees to accept the car as collateral for the loan.

The bank's president and its officers all enjoy a good laugh at the IGBO man for using
a #30 Million Mercedes Benz as collateral against a #5,000 loan. An employee of the bank then drives the Mercedes Benz into the bank's underground garage and parks it there.

Four weeks later, the IGBO man returns, repays the #5,000 and the interest, which comes to #150.41. The loan officer says, 'Sir, we are very happy to have had your business, and this transaction has worked out very nicely but we are a little puzzled.

While you were away, we checked you out and found that you are a multi millionaire. What puzzles us is, why would you bother to borrow ' #5,000'.
The IGBO man replies: Where else in
LAGOS can I park my car for four weeks for only #150.41 and expect it to be there when I return?

BITTER WORDS FROM ELDERS

1. Nobody respect a rag until their shoes is dirty, so stay in your corner. Don't beg people to know your value, when the time comes, nobody will tell them to look for you

2. Don't be too available for people because long-time no see is better than this Ijiot has come again.

3. Control your Anger because it is just one letter away from Danger.

4. Don't show everyone Your wounds, not everyone is holding a bandage, some are with salt and vinegar to increase the pains.

5. Never plant thorns on someones path, your children may take that route barefooted one day.

6. One mistake you should never make in this life is to allow yourself to be recruited by someone to hate another person who hasn't wrong you.

7. Don't compare your life with others, there is no comparison between the sun and Moon they shine when is their time.

Compete with no one, nature has his own unidentified way of settling everyone base on his/ her unseen activities here on earth.

Be yourself and always be cautious for your actions, yesterday was there before today and they shall be tomorrow for those who take precautions of yesterday.

It's just matter of time we'll all get there.
