The working meeting between Prof. Costel Negricea, PhD, Rector of the Romanian-American University, and Prof. Daniela Deutsch, Academic Director and Dean of the NewSchool of Architecture & Design in San Diego, focused on establishing the key implementation stages for the launch of a Double Degree Bachelor's Program in Architecture.
The discussions addressed the coordination and alignment of the curriculum, the harmonization of academic standards, and the definition of the operational steps required for the implementation of the Double Degree Bachelor's Program. The program will provide future students with the opportunity to earn both a degree from the Romanian-American University and a degree from its partner institution in the United States, thereby strengthening the international dimension and attractiveness of the University's educational offer while expanding graduates' academic and professional opportunities in an international context.
This initiative is part of the project to launch the new School of Architecture, which will welcome its first cohort of students during the Autumn 2026 admissions cycle. The School will offer a six-year integrated Bachelor's and Master's degree program taught entirely in English.
The curriculum will address the key themes shaping the future of the architectural profession, with a strong emphasis on sustainability, climate change adaptation, the integration of emerging technologies into the architectural design process, and the development of innovative solutions for the built environment.
Through this strategic partnership, the Romanian-American University further reinforces its mission to develop internationally relevant academic programs and to educate future architects equipped to design, innovate, and excel in a global professional environment.
