END OF SESSION DEPARTURE ASSEMBLY & STUDENT LEADERSHIP INAUGURATION

Today, we held our End of Session Departure Assembly to appreciate God for His guidance and protection throughout the 2025/2026 academic session.

We also had the swearing-in of the new Student Leadership Team that will pilot the affairs of the student body for the next one year.

We handed them over to God in prayer, asking for wisdom, direction, and grace as they serve.

IKOT EKPENE LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL COMMENDS RITMAN UNIVERSITY'S 125KW SOLAR POWER PROJECT

The Ikot Ekpene Local Government Council, led by the Vice Chairman of the Council, Hon. Obonganwan Abigail Akpan, has commended Ritman University for the successful commissioning of its 125-kilowatt Solar Power Plant, describing the project as a bold and transformative investment in sustainable energy and educational development.

The commendation followed the official commissioning of the solar power project by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Third Governing Council of Ritman University, Professor Stephen Azaiki, OON, during a landmark ceremony held at the University.

Speaking on behalf of the Council, Hon. Obonganwan Abigail Akpan expressed delight over the successful ex*****on of the project, noting that the 125KW Solar Power Plant will significantly enhance teaching, learning, research, and administrative activities by providing reliable, uninterrupted electricity to the entire Ritman University community.

The Council commended the leadership of the Founder and Visitor of Ritman University, Distinguished Senator Emmanuel Ibok Essien, FNSE, and the University's Management for their unwavering commitment to infrastructural development, innovation, and environmental sustainability.
The delegation from the Ikot Ekpene Local Government Council was led by Hon. Obonganwan Abigail Akpan and included the Secretary of the Council, Hon. Prince Unyime Akpan, Supervisors, and other members of the Executive Council, all of whom applauded the University's remarkable achievement and reaffirmed the Council's support for initiatives that foster educational advancement and community development.

RITMAN UNIVERSITY COMMISSIONS 125KW SOLAR POWER PLANT (PHASE 1), TAKES A GIANT LEAP TOWARDS GREEN ENERGY

Ritman University has recorded another remarkable milestone with the official commissioning of its 125-kilowatt Solar Power Plant, a landmark renewable energy project designed to provide uninterrupted electricity across the university campus and significantly reduce dependence on the national power grid. The university's goal is to generate 1 megawatt of capacity in the near future.

The commissioning ceremony, held on Tuesday, 28th July 2026, was performed by the Pro-Chancellor of Ritman University and Chairman of the Third Governing Council, Professor Stephen Azazi, in the presence of members of the University Governing Council, Management, staff, students, distinguished guests, and well-wishers.

The event marked the successful completion of the first phase of Ritman University's Green Renewable Energy Initiative, a visionary project championed by the Founder and Visitor of Ritman University, Distinguished Senator Emmanuel Ibok Essien, FNSE.

Leading the campus tour and commissioning, Senator Essien highlighted the university's unwavering commitment to providing a sustainable, technology-driven learning environment through continuous investment in modern infrastructure.

The 125KW solar power plant is capable of supplying electricity to the entire university community, enabling Ritman University to operate independently of the national electricity grid. The project represents a significant step toward clean, reliable, and environmentally friendly energy while ensuring uninterrupted academic and administrative activities.

Among the dignitaries who witnessed the historic event were the Member representing Ikot Ekpene/Obot Akara State Constituency, Hon. Jerry Otu, representatives of the Ikot Ekpene Local Government Council, the Managing Director of Akwa Savings and Loans Limited, members of the university community, traditional leaders, friends of the institution, and other distinguished guests.

The commissioning of the solar power plant underscores Ritman University's commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the creation of a world-class academic environment.

Tonight, we celebrate a grand dinner in honour of Prof. Stephen Azaiki, the 3rd Chairman of the Governing Council of Ritman University and to mark the inauguration of the 3rd Governing Council of our prestigious institution.

The event, hosted by the MD, Harvard Restaurant Uyo, is a night of appreciation, gratitude, and renewed commitment to excellence in our institution.

The third Pro-Chancellor of Ritman University and Chairman of the Third Governing Council, Professor Stephen Azaiki, has expressed his satisfaction with the impressive level of infrastructure, equipment, and learning facilities available at the institution following a comprehensive tour of the university.

The familiarization tour, led by the Founder and Visitor of Ritman University, Distinguished Senator Emmanuel Ibok Essien, FNSE, provided Professor Azaiki with the opportunity to inspect the university's academic buildings, lecture halls, laboratories, administrative blocks, recreational facilities, and other key infrastructures across the campus.

Speaking after the tour, Professor Azazi commended the university's commitment to providing a conducive learning environment and applauded the remarkable investments made in developing world-class facilities that support quality teaching, learning, and research.

The event also featured the official inauguration of the Third Governing Council of Ritman University by the Founder and Visitor of the University, Distinguished Senator Emmanuel Ibok Essien, FNSE.

The ceremony was attended by the members of the newly inaugurated Governing Council, Principal Officers/Management, and other distinguished guests.

Professor Stephen Azaiki brings to Ritman University a wealth of experience in the academia, public service, and leadership.
