THE DEATH OF JESUS

At the age of 33, Jesus was condemned to death .

At the time crucifixion was the worst death. Only the worst criminals were condemned to be crucified. Yet it was even more dreadful for Jesus, unlike other criminals condemned to death by
Crucifixion.
Jesus was to be nailed to the
Cross by His hands and feet.

Each nail was 6 to 8 inches long.

The nails were driven into His wrist. Not
Into His palms as is commonly
Portrayed. There's a tendon in the wrist that extends to the shoulder. The Roman guards knew that when the nails were being hammered into the
Wrist that tendon would tear and
Break, forcing Jesus to use His back
Muscles to support himself so that He could breath.

Both of His feet were nailed together. Thus He was forced to support Himself on the single nail that impaled His feet to the cross.

Jesus could not support himself with His legs because of the pain so He was forced to alternate between arching His
Back then using his legs just to continue to breath.
Imagine the struggle, the pain, the
Suffering, the courage.

Jesus endured this
Reality for over 3 hours.

Yes,
Over 3 hours! Can you imagine this kind of suffering?
A few minutes before He died,
Jesus stopped bleeding. He was simply pouring water from his wounds.

From common images
We see wounds to His hands and feet and even the spear wound to His side but, do we realize His wounds were actually made in his body?
A hammer driving large nails through the wrist, the feet overlapped and an even large nail hammered through the arches, then a Roman guard piercing His side with a spear. But before the nails and the spear Jesus was whipped and beaten. The whipping was so severe that it tore the flesh from His body. The beating so horrific that His face was torn and his beard ripped from His face. The crown of thorns cut deeply into His scalp. Most men would not have survived this torture.

He had no more blood to bleed out, only water poured from His
Wounds. The human adult body contains about 3.5 liters (just less than a gallon) of blood. Jesus poured all 3.5 liters of his blood; He had three nails hammered into His members; a crown of thorns on His head and, beyond that, a Roman soldier who stabbed a spear into His
Chest.

All these without mentioning the humiliation He suffered after carrying His own cross for almost 2 kilometers, while the crowd spat to his face and threw stones (the cross was almost 30 kg of weight, Only for its higher part, where His hands were nailed).

Jesus had to endure this experience, to open the Gates of Heaven, so that you can have free access to God, so that your sins could be washed away.

Some Common Misconceptions People Have About Scripture

One of the biggest challenges in Christianity, or Christ Followership, is the fact that most Christians do what they are told by men, rather than what they are commanded by God to do in Scripture.

That is why there are so many traditions in Christianity, because believers do not study Scripture. Instead, we “cancel the word of God in order to hand down your own tradition”-Mark 7:13.

As a result, I took it upon myself to study Scripture and use it to dispel some common misconceptions. Here is an initial stab at this. Space will not permit me to fully tackle this issue. Hopefully, I will do a book about it in the future.

1. God Did Not Give Adam a Wife:
Too often, we have been taught that God gave Adam a wife, and sadly, many men have used this as authority for the ungodly practice whereby their pastors have ‘visions’ and ‘dreams’ about whom they ought to marry. Many people have entered into unhappy nuptials because of this lack of understanding of Scripture.

God never gave Adam a wife.
Genesis 2:22-23 says:
“Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman,' for she was taken out of man."

God did not give Eve to Adam as his wife. He created Eve and brought her to Adam, and it was Adam who made a free will decision and accepted her and made her his wife.

2. God Never Cursed Man:
Many people accept the lie told to them that God cursed man after the fall from of man, occasioned by the disobedience of our first human parents. This is an outright lie. God never cursed man.

God loves you. God can’t hate you. God can’t curse you. God can’t allow evil into your life. God does not plan evil for you. His thoughts towards you are for good and not for evil.That God loves you is an unchangeable fact. So, get rid of any thoughts that are contrary to that fact. God can’t hate you!

What actually happened as a result of the fall of man?

Genesis 3:17 says:
“Cursed is the ground because of you;
through painful toil you will eat food from it all the days of your life.

God cursed the ground. He did not curse man. And this is corroborated in Genesis 5:29, which says:

“He named him Noah and said, "He will comfort us in the labor and painful toil of our hands caused by the ground the LORD has cursed."

3. God Updates Man Remotely From Heaven:
Many people have raised doubts about Scripture, because of the changes in man’s lifespan, abilities, and the different races on Earth, being that we all come from one ancestor, because as Acts 17:26 states:

“From one man he made all the nations,”

There is no contradiction. Scripture remains inerrant. The answer to that conundrum can be found in Genesis 6:3, which says:

“Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years."

Notice the words “My Spirit”.

If you read the creation account in Genesis chapters 1 and 2, you will notice that God did not mention His Spirit when He created man. In fact, the major reason why man is more precious to God than His other creations is that, whereas He spoke all other creations into being, Scripture tells us that He formed us by His own hand. We see this in Genesis 2:7:

“Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.”

In Genesis 6:3, God uses the word “My Spirit” because God was giving a remote update from heaven to the spirit He put in man, directing it to reduce man’s longevity to 120 years in much the way a firm life Apple gives remote updates to Apple devices, like iPhones, from the California offices. One of the ways this was accomplished is that man began to eat red meat. Prior to that time, man did not eat red meat.

This is corroborated by Job 32:8:

“There is a spirit within people, the breath of the Almighty within them, that makes them intelligent.”

What is Apple‘s ability to remotely control their devices from their head office called? It is called “Intelligent design”. Here, science is copying God.

God could and can still update man’s genetic properties remotely from heaven through His Internet (His Spirit), just as your smartphone manufacturer can alter the longevity, behaviour and quality of your phone remotely through the Internet

4. Noah Did Not Hunt The Animals He Had In The Ark. Also, There Were Few Aquatic Animals in the Ark:

Many people reject Scripture because they claim that Noah’s Ark could not possibly have contained all the animals on Earth, and that Noah could not have caught each animal, even with help from his family.

And they are right. Scripture does not say that Noah caught the animals on the Ark.

Genesis 6:20 says:
“Two of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature that moves along the ground will come to you to be kept alive.”

Noah did not go hunting for the animals. The animals came to Noah. He did not go to them. They were remotely updated by God from heaven and ordered to go to him.

Also, notice that that Scripture says “every kind of creature that moves along the ground”. What this means is that aquatic animals did not come to Noah, for the simple reason that they did not need an Ark to survive a flood. They thrived during the flood.

5. Melchizedek, Not Christ, Performed The First Holy Communion

I have heard pastors and clergymen preach that Christ instituted the Holy Communion. That is false. The first Holy Communion was instituted by a mysterious Figure known as Melchizedek, in Genesis 14:18-19:

“Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High, and he blessed Abram, saying, "Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth.”

It was after this incident that God changed Abraham’s name from Abram to Abraham in Genesis 17:5.

Christ re-instituted the Holy Communion in Luke 22:19. But notice what Paul says about a man who has accepted Christ and taken the Holy Communion after baptism, in 2 Corinthians 5:17:

“If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

You see, just as Melchizedek’s communion led to Abram‘s change to become Abraham, Christ’s Communion will lead you to become a new man.

6. Sleeping With Married Women Can Kill You:

One of the most sacred institutions in life is marriage. It is often thought that there is no consequence to sleeping with a married woman. But there is. But there is!

Genesis 20:3 says:
“God came to Abimelek in a dream one night and said to him, "You are as good as dead because of the woman you have taken; she is a married woman."

Sleeping with a married woman can lead to death. I do not know if the same is true for a sleeping with a married man, because Scripture is silent about that, and there is no Scripture specifically condemning polygamy, although, I believe Christ condemned it in Mark 10:8:

“And the two will become one flesh.' So they are no longer two, but one flesh.”

I do not see how three can become one flesh. However, please note very strongly that this is MY OWN PERSONAL OPINION. I am not being led by the Spirit on this. It is my dogma. It is not the Word of God.

7. God Did Not Consider Ishmael As Abraham’s Son:

This will offend many people, especially Muslims. However, according to Scripture (and you must understand that prophet Mohammed accepted the Books of Moses as being of divine origin), God did not consider Ishmael as Abraham’s son AFTER Isaac was born (not before).

We see this in Genesis 22:2:
“Then God said, "Take your son, your only son, whom you love--Isaac--and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you."

Notice the words “only son”. Note that Ishmael was 14 years old when Isaac was born, yet when Abraham was told to sacrifice Isaac, God called Isaac his only son.

God did not consider Ishmael as Abraham's son after the birth of Isaac.

8. Silent Prayers Are Answered Faster Than Spoken Prayers:

I have seen too many pastors and clergymen tell their congregations to open their mouths and pray, because there is no silent prayer in Scripture. That type of talk is borne out of ignorance.

Scripture records the fastest prayer in the Old Testament as first Genesis 24:45:

"Before I finished praying in my heart, Rebekah came out, with her jar on her shoulder. She went down to the spring and drew water, and I said to her, 'Please give me a drink.'

Another potent silent prayer was Hannah’s prayer of-1 Samuel 1:13:

“Hannah was praying in her heart, and her lips were moving but her voice was not heard. Eli thought she was drunk.”

And in the New Testament, the fastest prayer ever answered is in Matthew 9:21:

“For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.”

Silent prayers are very valid. This is corroborated by Ephesians 3:20:

“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.”

Your thoughts are prayers. As a matter of fact, if what you pray with your mouth contradicts what you say with your heart, it is what you say in your heart that will prevail, because as 1 Samuel 16:7 teaches:

“The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."

9. Meditation Is Not a New Age or Eastern Religious Practice:

I have heard many pastors teach that meditation is a New Age practice and should be avoided. That is not true. Meditation is just like prayer. Prayer is good if you are praying to the one true God, and bad if you are praying to a dead god or an idol.

In fact, the patriarchs practiced the art of meditation. We see this in Genesis 24:63:

“Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming.”

I have taken great pains to break these misconceptions down and demystify them for you. However, please read Scripture for yourself. It will stabilise you on the Rock of Christ and prevent you from being tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine.

Please do follow what is doctrinal. Follow what is Scriptural.

God has a plan to prosper you and help you achieve your heart’s desire. However, if you do not come into agreement with God’s plan for you, God’s plan for you will not come to pass. You need to have a good relationship with your God and with yourself and that can only happen when you read and understand Scripture by yourself, instead of living your life following dogma.

WHEN THE CHURCH BECOMES A BUSINESS

1) Pastors function like CEOs.

2) Members are turned into customers.

3) Other churches are seen as competitions.

4) Evangelism is reduced to marketing.

5) Church planting looks more like franchising.

6) Numbers are primary measure of success.

7) Prayer and Word study are replaced by formulas.

8) Revival is reduced to a few days fund-raising program.

9) Preaching sounds more like motivational speech. All the people do is shout "I receive, Amen," throughout the concert, i mean the "service."

10) Praise and Worship is turned into a performance. The best actors are made the worship and praise leaders.

11) The Spirit of God is reduced to "emotionalism." No real power of God other than hypnosis and
sensationalism.

12) The saints are entertained instead of equipped.

13) Disciples of Christ have become papa's sons, daughters and fans.

14) The Church, a living Body has now become a lifeless body.

15) A leader's empire is built instead of the Kingdom of God advanced

(16) The pastor becomes the super man and Jesus Christ reduced to just another religious figure.

Does any one of these sound familiar in this generation?
Beloved, if you are under these pattern of "Christianity" you are already in a cult, not the Church of Jesus Christ. Get out before it is too late!

All I have highlighted above is exactly what made Jesus himself to ask:

"When the Son of Man shall comes, will He find faith in the Earth?" (Luke 18.8)

REASONS SOME PASTORS WILL NOT SEND CONDOLENCE MESSAGES TO PROPHET T.B JOSHUA FAMILY AND MINISTRY INCLUDING OUR FATHERS AND MOTHERS IN FAITH

1. HE DIDN'T JOINED C.A.N, P.F.N AND OTHER MINISTERIAL NETWORK

Though he wanted to join when the pressure was on him to associate during Pastor Ayo as both CAN and PFN leader but they refused. They refused him to join and still condemn him for not joining. I can boldly say one of the major problem we have today in Nigeria is coming from CAN and PFN. They are just existing but not active. No voice, no relevance, no influence and no motivation. Our government especially this administration has pocket them totally. Even in my area if you don't belong to PFN or CAN you are seen as fake or false. So prophet TB Joshua was described as fake through CAN and PFN which was championed by Chris Okotie.

2. NOBODY UNDERSTOOD THE SOURCE OF HIS SUPERNATURAL DISPLAY

Prophet T.B Joshua was never ordained, anointed or commissioned by any of our popular fathers, mothers or mentors especially in Nigeria. So it was very difficult for Nigerians who are very denominational and dogmatic to accept him. If he was anointed or appointed by the likes of Papa Adeoye, Oyedepo, Archbishop Benson Idahosa etc it would have been very easy for Nigerians to accept and celebrate him. But does it mean God cannot anoint anyone outside our popular spiritual fathers or mothers in faith? So if your popular pastor didn't anoint me I am fake? Prophet T.B Joshua was seen as fake because to Nigerians he was not ordained by our popular fathers.

3. HE WAS NOT THE PACKAGED TYPE OF NIGERIA PASTORS

If you check well, he associated more with the nobodies, destitutes, displaced, rejected and abandoned people. He associated with disabled people, orphans, widows and poor people. Unlike our fathers and mothers who are parading themselves as senior ministers. Building schools, hotels, transportation companies even their prayer camps are very difficult for common man to attend. PACKAGED ICHABOD. Since he was simple and easy going prophet, they will not celebrate him.

4. HE OCCUPIED THE STAGE FOR A VERY LONG PERIOD

Prophet T.B Joshua was a nightmare to many pastors in the world especially in Nigeria. He was a voice, you can't talk about the PROPHETIC, DELIVERANCE, HEALING AND MIRACULOUS WITHOUT MENTIONING HIS NAME. He impacted lot of Nigeria pastors even if they deny it. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was impacted by him. Prophet Angel was impacted by him. You were impacted by him directly or indirectly. most pastors were praying for him to die because he occupied the stage for too long. Started ministry early, became popular early, and it was like he didn't want to go hahaha bad belle people.

5. NONE OF OUR SENIOR MINISTERS FATHERED, MOTHERED OR MENTORED HIM

This is one of the major reason they will not and cannot send condolence messages to his family and MINISTRY. He was never raised by our popular fathers, mothers and mentors. And anyone not raised by them nowadays is either a witch or wizard. Or you don't understand why most of their followers don't relate anymore with you? They are loyal to their spiritual father, mother and mentor and any form of relationship with those not submitting to the same father or mother is seen as DISLOYALTY.

6. HE LIVED OUTSIDE THE HELP, SUPPORT AND SUPPLY OF OTHER MINISTERS ESPECIALLY FATHERS AND MOTHERS OF FAITH

As long he succeeded in life and ministry without them, he was a ritualist. You know nowadays fathers and mothers want you to remain poor, suffering and in need so that you will always run to them. They want you to have police case, court case, divorce case etc so that they will have something to counsel in your life and family and if you don't have they will set you up or create it for you. So prophet T.B Joshua succeeded outside them. As long he didn't need them to succeed or survive he was fake.

This is just part 1 because we have to celebrate him no matter what people say or do. He was a general, a helper and a platform for many.

WHY NIGER DELTANS DO NOT WANT TO BE PART OF BIAFRA
_- H.E Goodluck Jonathan

Former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan yesterday delivered a lecture at Texas US on why remaining indivisible with Nigeria than joining forces with Biafrans in splitting the country will pay Niger Deltans more.

I begin this write-up by saying that I mean no ill-thought towards the Biafran struggle or Igbos in general. What I’ve written here are mainly my personal reflections concerning the Niger Delta, especially with regards to non-Igbo groups and their stake in the Biafran movement which has been rebirthed for some time now. I am not a mouthpiece for the Niger Delta but I believe I’ve been in the Niger Delta long enough to know our problems and our stand. I’ve also interacted with many Niger Deltans to know their stand in the Biafran struggle.

When I use the term Niger Delta, I am referring to the region covering Delta, Edo, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River states. However, I understand that the region also covers Ondo, Imo, and Abia states. I’m not concerned with the latter because they are either Igbos or Yorubas and have their own struggles. The ethnic groups within my coverage include Urhobo-Isoko, Bini, Esan, Itsekiri, Ijaw-Epie-Ogbia, Ogoni, Afemai, Efik-Annang-Eket-Oron-Ibibio, Ogoja, Ejagham, and other groups in Cross River North. Ikwerre, Ukwuani, Ika, Aniocha, Ogba, and other Igboid groups, are not included. Historically, Biafra covered all the Niger Delta states EXCEPT Delta and Ondo states. This fact must be emphasised.

Pro-Biafrans are welcome to debate and address my issues in a civil manner. I understand that most pro-Biafrans resort to insults when salient issues are addressed.

Please let’s set a good precedence from hereon.

1. Biafra may not be better for Niger Deltans because Niger Deltans may end up living one form of subjugation for another. The argument Igbos have made for their freedom is the desire to be free from Hausa-Yoruba domination. That argument also applies to the average Niger Deltan. Igbo, no doubt, will be the major ethnic group if Biafra is actualised. Ijaws may have a stake due to their numbers. What about the Ogonis, Urhobo-Isokos, Itsekiris, Efiks, etc? Where will they fit in at the national level? The sad reality is that another Nigeria will just be made manifest and resentments will build up. What will really be the fate of minorities? Will they fare better in Biafra or alone? In Nigeria, big groups such as Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo checkmate each other’s excesses very well. Who will checkmate that of Igbos in the new nation?

2. Where will the capital be located? If we are to follow the notion of central location, the capital of Biafra won’t be Enugu but around Umuahia-Ikot Ekpene axis. Will Igbos allow their capital to be sited in a non-Igbo location? This is a very salient issue because you don’t expect the riverine Niger Deltan in Twon-Brass, for instance, to journey all the way to Enugu to see their President. It has to be a location where ALL BIAFRANS can access easily. Enugu won’t go.

3. The issue of annexation comes to play. For so long, e-Biafrans have annexed Niger Delta as part of the proposed nation. The map below shows us what Biafrans have drawn to constitute the new nation:

If we judge from this map, it means all groups in the Niger Delta have been annexed. My question is whether the leaders of these groups have been consulted before the annexation was done. I, for one, know that Urhobo-Isoko and Efik-Ibibio leaders have not approved of Biafra neither have anybody in these regions declared Biafra. So how and why were they included in the proposed map? Little things like this bring distrust and I understand that many of these non-Igbo regions have disowned the map and pledged allegiance to Nigeria. The declaration by the Delta State government is a case in point. I see this as forceful annexation. The so-called e-Biafrans have also not done much in calming the nerves of the people of the annexed regions. I’ve seen comments such as “if you don’t like it, go and stay in Sokoto”, “all land in the South is Biafraland”, etc. Is it not ironic that a group of people who want freedom want to annexe others?

4. What languages will be made the official languages of the new nation? I have seen several posts by e-Biafrans where Igbo was proposed as the official language of the new republic. What then will happen to other languages such as Urhobo, Isoko, Okpe, Efik, Ibibio, Oron, Ogoni, Eleme, Okrika, Kalabari, Bini, Esan, etc? Will they die off because of Igbo? Certainly NOT! If English is made the official language, the Igbo majority factor will kick in. If your name isn’t Chukwuemeka or Oliseh, Amarachi or Nneka, etc, you won’t get any appointment nor shall you be recognised. These are things we can’t deny. We are very ethnocentric in Africa.

5. What and what have Igbo nation done for Niger Deltans to gain their trust? Every day I see Igbo youths making enemies where there were none. They constantly use the agency of the internet to sprout controversy, hurl insults at dissenters and make unfounded claims. There is this general air of mistrust for Igbos by some Niger Deltans, particularly by Urhobo-Isoko and Bini people. What have Igbos done to checkmate this? Has any Igbo leader or group extended the hand of friendship to the Niger Deltans. Mistrust cannot be wished away. Most Niger Deltans would rather follow Hausas as slaves than follow Igbos as kings. This is the real reality and truthfully, Igbos caused this.

6. Who will lead the new nation? Obviously, Nnamdi Kanu, their hero, has fought tooth and nails for Biafra and he is currently cooling off in jail. If Biafra comes today, who will be the interim leader and what modalities are in place for subsequent leaders to be elected? Igbos have been the only ones fighting for Biafra since time immemorial with a handful of other groups here and there. Will Igbos allow other groups to rule over them? Will they allow an Urhobo man to be President, for instance? This is not a case of mere wishing. We have to understand that Niger Delta groups MAY NEVER BE ALLOWED TO RULE BIAFRA IF IT IS ACTUALISED.

7. Still on the issue of leaders, are the new leaders going to fall from the skies or they are simply going to change addresses from Abuja to Enugu. If so, what will change in the new nation? It is not arguable that Igbo national leaders are the most corrupt persons in Nigeria. If these same people are the ones to rule the new nation then there is no hope because corruption will be so rife that the economy of the new nation will shut down like a knocked engine. If we argue that new and younger leaders will arise, we still have the issue of who fought for Biafra to contend with. Most pro-Biafrans will not allow someone who sat at the periphery of the struggle to just come and waltz power away from the “heroes” of Biafra. If this is true then we will not have a proper democracy in Biafra.

8. Will Biafra be a utopia? The impression that e-Biafrans give is that Biafra will be perfect and we all know for a fact that this is not true. Apart from the issue of corruption and sentimentalism that have been addressed, we still have the issue of development. Where will money be generated from to develop the nation? In the whole of the proposed Biafra, only Port Harcourt and Onitsha are economically viable cities. Where will the investors come from? Why should they invest in a volatile country? Only in Warri, we have Ijaw, Itsekiri and Urhobo at loggerheads, imagine what would happen to the whole nation. Secondly, I am sure that no Niger Deltan will allow his “oil” to be used to develop Enugu like what happened with Abuja, and is still happening today. Niger Deltans are getting wiser and by the time the new nation is formed, matters that border on oil, wealth distribution and infrastructural development will be raised.

9. The current structure of the proposed nation, as shown in the map earlier embedded, favour Igbos with more states. Urhobo has one, Efik-Ibibio has two, Itsekiri has none, etc. How will this be addressed? Certainly, every ethnic nationality will want adequate representation and so the structure on that map will never work.

10. Last, but not the least, is the issue of referendum. Some Biafrans are already calling for a referendum which will involve all parts of the proposed nation. I am pretty sure how this referendum will turn out. However, for the sake of being hypothetical, let us imagine that some ethnic groups/states vote against Biafra by the majority, what will be their fate at the end of the day? Secondly, will the result of such a referendum be true and honest? I understand that electoral malpractice forms a part of our identity. How are we going to get a true reflection of people’s thoughts? Thirdly, if states and ethnic groups do decide to vote for Biafra, what mechanisms are in place to contain Igbophobia, Igbomania, Igbocentrism, Igbo hegemony, Landgrabbing, and all issues that minorities have raised?

Above are the reasons why I feel that Niger Deltans will NOT subscribe to the Biafran movement. I have been very practical, philosophical and hypothetical in my approach. I do not speak for any group or persons but I present these issues for the pro-Biafrans to address. Niger Deltans can raise more issues that I have not raised. Finally, it should be noted that I expect insults directed at my person by e-warriors and keyboard mercenaries, as usual, but I won’t pleasure such persons with answers or altercations. If you raise good points, we can discuss like intellectuals.
