IKPA NNUNG ASSANG APEX STUDENTS BODY VISITS EMOIMEE SCHOLARSHIP SECRETARY, INSTALLS HIM AS PATRON

.Assures Students of Support, Inaugurates 2025 Students’ Week Committee
In a colourful and inspiring afternoon today, the apex students’ body of Ikpa Nnung Assang Clan (NAINAS), led by its Executive President, Comr. Joseph Ndah, paid a courtesy visit to the Secretary of EMOIMEE Scholarship Scheme and Ikpa Nnung Assang representative in the scholarship board, Hon. Mathias Idiong, at his residence in Essene Town.
During the visit, Hon. Idiong, a patriotic son of Ikpa Nnung Assang and a staunch advocate for education and youth development, admonished the students to remain close to their clan leaders and to take their education seriously. He urged them to shun social vices and channel their energy toward acquiring professional skills and knowledge, he lauded Hon Uduak Odudoh, Uwem Ekanem, Emmanuel Essen, Nsemeke Udoakpan and others for their efforts towards community development.
In a major highlight of the visit, Hon. Idiong formally inaugurated the 2025 Students’ Week Planning Committee, naming Sen. Charles Uko as Chairman alongside other committee members who are to oversee the activities of the upcoming students’ week celebration.
Speaking on behalf of the students, Executive President Joseph Ndah expressed heartfelt gratitude to the host for his warm reception and unwavering commitment to the growth of education in Ikpa Nnung Assang. He highlighted key challenges facing the students and presented the association’s 2025 budget for consideration. In a symbolic moment, the students’ body installed Hon. Mathias Idiong as Patron of NAINAS, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the development of the clan.
Former Presidents Genesis Akro and Uwakmfon Akpabio also commended the former AKISIEC Commissioner for his consistent efforts in uplifting the community, pledging their continuous support for NAINAS initiatives.
In his remarks, the Ukai Ibibio, Rt. Hon. Anthony Ekpe (MMI, JP), described Hon. Idiong as a noble citizen, a passionate advocate for education, and a true lover of community development. He assured that NAINAS would continue to thrive under his guidance and support.
Other notable speakers at the event included respected journalist Mr. Dominic Umosen, Aniekan Domingo, and several dignitaries, all of whom showered praises on the host for his leadership, generosity, and commitment to the growth of Ikpa Nnung Assang Clan.
The event was well attended by NAINAS executives, the House of Royalties, committee heads, past and present presidents, as well as incumbent executives, making it a truly memorable and unifying gathering for the clan’s student community.
