In November 2022, Artificial Intelligence (AI) made a big splash with the introduction of a tool called ChatGPT. Since then, many AI tools have been released, and the business world has been transformed!

What is AI & Why Should You Care?

Artificial Intelligence is the ability of computers or other electronic devices to think, reason, and act like humans. This technology powers robots to make decisions and act intelligently, often faster, cheaper, and more efficiently than humans.

AI is rapidly changing how we work, the tools we use, and the results we achieve. It can reduce operational costs and increase productivity by up to 90% or more.

It's International Girl Child Day!

Today marks 10th year anniversary for International Girl Child Day.

Theme for the 2022 of IGCD is:

"Our time is now—our rights, our future

Our school may be operating in a local community,but will give our learners learnings that are embellished with global flavour.

Our girls' education does not need to end in the 'oza' room or in the kitchen.Let it take them to summit of success.

Let's Lay Solid Educational Foundations for Our Kids

I had a great deal of time to talk to some parents yesterday.

In one of the discussions,a parent narrated his dreamed education for his children-quality, technology-inspired and well- rounded education.

In this Century,children especially from kindergarten to the primary levels need functional education,softskills like critical thinking, entrepreneurship,leadership,global awareness,team building and negotiation skills to mention a few.They need technology that will position them to take centre stage in this age of technology.

Primary education is an important foundation that require our attention.

China has 99% primary education enrollment with less than 10% university attainment. They put all the best money in basic education, making sure that it is really great. For the university, they don't really care that much.

If the China and the US government understand this,parents of children in Nursery and Primary school ages should understand better.

We don't have a government that shows this concern.We also don't have many parents that understand this.

At The Palmer School, we want to give your children the education they need for this Century.With full supports of our parents,this will be achieved.

Three basic things are essential for the success of children born in this age:

(1) functional education
(2) skills- both hard and soft
(3) technology.

Any schools,families,religions and other agents of socialization that neglect these do so at their own perils.

The Education's Need of The 21st Century Kids

I hope you know and accept this early: education need of kids in this century is different from that of us the parents.

Today,technology is making information to be pouring in per second,causing changes to occur at a break-neck speed.In just 6 months,the phone you use,the knowledge you have...will become old with new discoveries and new models replacing them .It is this age your children are learning.They cannot be prepared with old curriculum and old approach we are already used to.They need functional education,value orientation,technology,skills etc.

The world has become a global village, so making it necessary that children born and educated this era be prepared to compete at global levels with peers from across the globe!The education,the curriculum,the teaching,the school and parents orientations...must become global in appeal.All our local learnings and contents must be worked upon to achieve these.

These are the goals we set out to achieve at The Palmer School.One after the other,you will see us bringing out our cards.

Yet,we need your co-operation.More than a week now,schools have resumed activities.May be your own children are still at home with you playing!

We need to prepare these children if we do not want them to come behind their mates across the world.
