RELEASE OF RESULTS

"Today, I am happy to inform you that all the processes leading to the release of
results have been completed. It is now my pleasure to announce the release of results
of candidates that sat WASSCE for School Candidates, 2024 in Nigeria."

"Gentlemen of the Media, as WASSCE for School Candidates, 2024 results are being
uploaded on the results website, candidates should after checking the result online,
apply for their Digital certificate (https://www.waec.org) which will be released forty eight (48) hours
thereafter. Candidates who have fulfilled their financial obligations to the Council can access their results on the Council’s results website: www.waecdirect.org, within the
next twelve hours. Copies of the Result Listing will be sent to schools shortly."

"The Result Checker PIN and Serial Number required by candidates to check their
results online, are contained on the Candidate’s Smart Identity Card issued and used during conduct of the examination. Result Checkers are also available for purchase in the office. - *No Official Date Previously*: Although there were reports of an August 5 release date, WAEC communication officer Moyosola Adesina stated that this date was unofficial and had not been verified by the council ².
- *Results Usually Released Within 45 Days*: Adesina also mentioned that WASSCE results are typically released on or before 45 days after the last paper ².
- *How to Check Results*: Candidates can check their results online through the WAEC portal or using an SMS short code ³.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that candidates who sat for the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) can now print their original result slips.
These slips, which feature the candidate's photograph and advanced security features, can be printed from approved Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres starting from Monday, July 22, 2024. Please note that result slips cannot be printed from cybercafes or other internet-enabled platforms.
Candidates are strongly advised to follow approved channels for printing and avoid falling victim to fraudulent activities, such as attempted score inflation, perpetrated by individuals seeking to exploit this process. It is important to note that candidates' scores were previously released via the Board's sort code, so this physical copy serves as a secure and verifiable record of their results.

*🔵|JAMB Policy Meeting: Key Points To Note*

*Take time to go through this, before asking questions already answered in this post.*

✓ *JAMB held the 2024 admission policy meeting on the 18th July, 2024.*

✓ *Age Requirement for Admission this year is 16 years. However, it will be 18 years as from 2025.*

✓ *JAMB set 140 as the minimum score for university admissions, and 100 for admission into Colleges of Nursing, Colleges of Education, and Polytechnics. This cutoff is the minimum score and each institution can choose their own cutoffs.*

✓ *There will be no JAMB original result slip this year. JAMB stressed that it will be their sole responsibility to provide any school that requests the applicants' JAMB score. This is to prevent falsification of results by applicants. As to if there will be change of plans, or if JAMB will provide an alternative way for those with SIM card issues, this cannot be said at the moment. As such, everyone is expected to have their JAMB registered SIMs active as this is the only option of checking the results for now.*

✓ *All institutions can now commence their admissions for this year. This does not mean they will start immediately. Each school decides when to release their Post UTME/screening form, depending on their academic calendar.*

✓ *Admission this year will also be accepted through SMS only. This again emphasizes the need for everyone to have their JAMB registered SIM cards active. Again, as to if there will be an alternative way for those who have SIM card issues, this cannot be said at this moment.*

✓ *All Admissions - UTME, DE, regular, Part-time, others - must be conducted through JAMB alone. As such, watch out and don't fall victim of those who claim to offer you help to bypass the normal processes of Admission. This is simply telling you, don't fall victim of fake Admissions.*

✓ *Some candidates were not admitted last year due to various reasons - wrong subject combinations, no Olevel result uploaded on the JAMB portal, others. As such, ensure your subject combination corresponds with your course. More importantly, ensure that your O-level results are available on the JAMB portal.*

✓ *There is no detailed update on other services such as the UTME conversion to DE. However, this is expected to commence soon.*

*Finally, it's again important to note that the JAMB portal is yet to reflect the details for this year. It's therefore normal to find most of your details blank for now.*

*Upload of O-level results is still ongoing. Ensure to do this NOW or whenever your results are ready.*

*Change of Course/Institution is ongoing and will be on for as long as this year's year's Admission process is on.*
