A Trip to Ghana
My name is Osele Ifunanya Cynthia who represented our honorable institution, St. Anthony’s secondary school Ikenga on Aguata best student challenge examination and by the special grace of God was among the fifteen finalists that will be flown to Ghana for networking, exposure and learning.
On the 21st of April 2024, all the students that are qualified for the final stage including I myself assembled together in the secretariat and after all the signing by our parents and guardians, our bus took off from Anambra state to Lagos state. We the students enjoyed ourselves very well during the journey. We passed like five states before arriving to Lagos state, which are; Anambra state, Delta state, Edo state, Ondo state and Ogun state.
We arrived in Lagos by 3pm and everyone was happy and also we thanked God for his journey mercies. We lodged in Lekki phase two in Lagos. After some rest, we the students were instructed to freshen up by the chairman’s P A that someone or rather a legend who happened to be an indigene of Umuchu by name Mr. David Chibuike Oforma, invited us for a dinner night. We left for Phantom hotel in the evening for the dinner and all the students were very excited to meet Mr. David Chibuike Oforma in person because none of the students knew him before. We also met Barr. Amaka Egbogu who is Also an indigene of Umuchu precisely. After the having the dinner with the host we snapped some pictures and went back to Lekki phase two in Lagos.
On the 22nd of April 2024, we left Nigeria to Ghana and we lodged in Bani hall in the university of Ghana, in Accra.
On the 23rd of April we all went to Triple Sea Technology Company in Ghana which is being managed by Mrs. Ann Okpala from Umuchu. There they showed us so many security gadgets and how they function
On the 24th of April 2024, we visited Sewerage Treatment System in Ghana. The company taught us on so many stages they pass so as they ensure they treat waste water. On the same day, we visited the Nigerian Embassy in Ghana where we met Mr. JACOB Musa who told us the relationship between Ghana and Nigeria.
On the 25th of April 2024, we visited the Entrance Pharmaceutical Ltd. In Ghana. There they showed us different stages they pass before producing drugs. On the same day we visited the Tema Port in Ghana. There they explained to us how people’s containers were transported by sea.
On the 26th of April which was the last day of our tour in Ghana, we had a tour around the University of Ghana in Accra. Later in the afternoon we went to Legon botanical garden in Ghana where we had a lot of fun and we all went home after the merriment
On the 27th of April 2024, we left Ghana to Nigeria by using road transport. Then on 28th of April we left Lagos state to Aguata where we were being welcomed by the Aguata youths.
The journey was really enjoyable and inspiring.
