Senator Kelvin Chukwu Harps On Access To Tertiary Education, Set To Pay JAMB Registration Fee For Over 300 Applicants.

In a bid to assisting the less privileged constituents gain admission into tertiary institutions of their choice, the Senator representing Enugu East Senatorial Zone, Senator Sir. Kelvin Chukwu has approved the full payment of Joint Admissions And Matriculation Board, JAMB, FEES for over 300 persons in the Six Local Government areas of the Zone.

Senator Chukwu believes that Education is indeed the bedrock of national development and giving youths access to acquire sound education will help them break the shackles of poverty. The Lawmaker directed that special consideration be given to orphans and indigent applicants as well as the physically challenged.

A 7-man committee headed by an academic, Dr. Ene Nwannaji, has been inaugurated with the mandate of collating and screening prospective applicants for the exercise.

Applicants/students who wish to benefit from this exercise are advised to contact the following persons in their respective Local Government Areas.

Just recently, we learnt that the Scholarships provided by Hon. Prof. Paul Sunday Nnamchi, Member of the National Assembly representing Enugu East/Isi-Uzo Federal Constituency were not fully utilized by Ikem people.

The issue was that several persons received the forms, disregarded them and ended up not processing them.

*We need this to change from this 2024, because other Scholarships are coming.*

Ikem Students' Association has this structure: Junior Friends, Undergraduate, Graduate and Mature Students Forum.

If Undergraduates and Graduates who don't have jobs at the moment are interested, let them organize themselves.

We could succeed in attracting something good for Ikem through our 3 Elected Labour Party Officials.
