Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year to all the friends of Les Enfants International.

What is uppermost in your heart about your child's education?

Just what goals have you set for your children's education? What plans have you made to ensure that those goals are achieved? Remember " A goal without a plan is just a wish". Stop wishing start achieving.

How many parents are guilty of this? "Please let me be" takes a phone or tab and pushes it to the child so the child would shut up and stop disturbing him or her. Soon the child becomes a games-addict and the parents start complaining "I don't know what is happening to my child?" You can change all that when you invest quality time with your child. Teach the child to read a book, play a physical game, play some music or even have a chat with you on different topics. Create and spend time with your child. Use "comforter" less. The child needs your attention not really your phone or tab. Don't also be an addict to your phone or tab. Set good examples for the child to follow. Read a book or something physical away from the "comforter(phone/tab)".

: When you see your child play, what thoughts come to your mind? A doctor, lawyer etc or a great person of integrity, respect and influence. The way you see your child will determine how you will bring the child up. Building character is better than building professions. Train your child to have values. Share this with other parents around you. People of influence are people of values.

I would like to share with you the vision of Les Enfants International. While bringing up my own children, I saw the need for quality education for growing children. I saw that many parents were not involved in the education of their children all because of their work. The children were often left at the mercy of helps and nannies whose educational backgrounds cannot take them to that preferred future. I saw a strong reliance on whatever the school setting could give which is not always enough to make quality education. So I thought we could begin to push for a stronger parent-involvement and the development of extra-curricula activities and talents to help a child see life beyond the school and be better equipped for the future. If you are a parent on this page, please may I ask you to take some time out to look at your child's homework, read a book with the child or do something that would make you spend with your child. The learning process starts with the parent/child relationship.

Any advice for Lucy? Lucy has a teenage son who just doesn't like maths. He is brillant and has good grades in school but he just doesn't like maths (average). She has talked and encouraged. She is not giving up because the subject is important for his education. What advice can we give her? She really needs help!
