Although a Temporary Resident Visa is for people who intend to visit Canada temporarily for tourism purposes but are still allowed to search for a job.

It is important to know that it is forbidden to work on a temporary visa. However, tourist visa holders can search for a job, and after successfully securing a job, one can convert the visitor's visa into a work permit.

Employers often prefer to meet the candidates in person before hiring them. Finding a job can be easy this way. Until February 2025, tourist permit holders are not actually prohibited from searching for a job.

It is also possible to visit a business site, buy goods or services from Canada, and attend a business event to interact with people. But it is prohibited for tourist permit holders to stay permanently in Canada, work in Canada without a work permit and study in Canada without a study permit.

Students who wish to study in Canada should have sufficient money to support themselves and their families. They should show some amount of money as proof of funds; this varies based on the school’s tuition fee. Aside from tuition, they are expected to have $13,310CAD as living expenses for one year.

Students who wish to immigrate to Canada via study should show proof of funds in their bank account. They can prove their POF through the following:

1. Canadian bank account in their name if they have transferred money to Canada.

2. Investment certificate. 

3. Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) from a Canadian financial institution.

4. Proof of a student or educational loan from the bank.

5. Bank statement for the past four months etc.
