Stop Wasting
I have met a lot of people who are full with energy, intelligence, oratory skills, and human relations skills, but their financial life is nothing to write home about. This persons have what it takes to grow financial success, but they feel they have to start out in a way that is indescribably elegant. They have this picture of lofty concept of launching out big. There is a certain level they assume they must start from if they want to do anything at all. As long as they don’t have the resources to start out that way, they would rather do nothing than attempt starting small.
The worst of them is those who are accustomed to success stories of American 🇺🇸 entrepreneurs. They hope to start out the way those they’ve read about started out. What they don’t realise is that our environments are way different. An average American can get credit card 💳 loan, can remortgage their home, can easily access Venture Capitalists…etc. All of the above and more is at their disposal. Doing nothing by waiting to start out big isn’t waiting but wasting.
When it comes to earning an income, as long as what you are doing is legitimate, face it heads on and give it your best until you make huge success out of it. I am more on the intellectual discipline side until when I decide to add trading to it. I always say; “I wish I went into trading earlier than I did”. A lot of intellectuals look down on traders a lot, but wonder where most traders get the kind of money they have. There is mega money in trading if you are intentional (Nigeria is a consuming nation).
I just bought this 3 books on Saturday at Lagos Island. While I was seated there perusing through the books before making my selections, dude has sold over 20 books. A woman bought 14 novels at 1,300 each. I know that the guy is making between 700-900 profit on each of those books, because I know how much they buy carton of novels (I don do book business before). Plus my own 14k for the 3 books.
As I perused the Marketing to Gen Z book, I gave him an insight on what the book is about. The man who should be in his 48 - 50yrs smiled and said; “we just dey sell am, we no dey read am. Especially now wey be say, everything to me na block and cement. I get where I dey build house for Lagos, so na money full my head now”. I was so impressed with him.
His kind of business is one that an average Nigerian youth will disdain. Ladies won’t even regard you as someone with future prospect if you do such business. But I think that, if selling books can help buy a land, and start building on it, it can help raise funds to start that your dream business.
So stop wasting by waiting. Do Something!
