This is the Kind of Innovation and News we love to See. 👏🏾

Reposted from 200 level Engineering student at the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Usman Dalhatu has created a solar-powered kiosk, custom made for the indigenous Mai Shayi and Indomie sellers to aid their work without the need for generators.

In 2020, Usman created a portable E-vent automatic ventilator and road sweeping machine. He was received by the minister of state for science and technology, Mohammed Abdullahi, to showcase his inventions

The minister revealed then that he had directed relevant agency to collaborate with Usman Dalhatu to improve on the invention to make it globally competitive for export and also protect his intellectual property.

At just 200 level in the university, Usman who has his own company Dalsman Tech Nigeria, is already implementing his knowledge and innovating solutions for the society.

We hope that the government and university leadership can find a way for schools to resume safely even if remotely, after many months of strike; so that people like Usman can get all the knowledge they need to reach their full potential. I look forward to seeing the many great things Usman and other young Nigerians like him will create.

Our Favorite way to enjoy Garden eggs(Igba in Yoruba Language) is with that Palm oil fried Pepper Sauce, with iru (locust beans) and Eja Kika(Smoked Fish) with Piping Hot white Yam that literally bursts in your mouth. 😋😍
This was how Grandma made them.
Scooping with Some is also a good snack for us.
Reposted from These tiny garden eggs are the size of peas and are also known as . They pack a bitter punch, great texture which 'bursts' and they are similar to Thai pea eggplants. I discovered them in a store in Ottawa, bought some and have been enjoying them in curries. In Nigeria, similar ones go into - a specialty dish of grated cassava in an emulsified red Palm oil sauce. I love how Nigerian dishes have so much complexity and balance. I'm always amazed at how certain dishes were composed historically.

What's your favorite way to use these?
What are they called where you are?

is a Private chef, food stylist, and a food business consultant with an astute knowledge of food, eating good, fresh, and local produce.

Graduated with B.sc Mass Communication from Bowen University, Iwo and worked as an executive assistant at GEC Petroleum Development Company Limited, she resigned and decided to follow her passion for food, after 1year.
She is constantly thirsty for more knowledge and even spend holidays taking short Culinary Courses, School of Culinary & Finishing Arts (SCAFA), Dubai(2016), ROUXBE.... a world leading online culinary school.

She started out with private catering, currently caters to a few corporate organizations. She is a food business consultant, has pioneered and resuscitated restaurants, hotels, and other types of food businesses in her 5+ years in the culinary field.

“After Culinary school, getting visible was no Joke as it already seemed like the food scenery was an over saturated market, but with tenacity, focus and staying true to this craft that I love, made me press further to be the best I can be and grow in the dark. Cooking my heart out for the people I love and constantly monitoring and practicing global food trends by so many fantastic cooks & chefs I admire, I became a more proficient cook and I grew till it became ME. “

She has been featured on the “Meals to Enjoy” recipe column of Businessday WOMEN’S HUB Magazine.
She recently wrote a book “COOK BETTER” a compilation of home-cooking favorites that the whole family can enjoy.

She believes every time we eat should be a feast and a celebration of beautifully fresh and robust flavors, “this is why I love large festive grazing boards with inexhaustible food options”....her love for breakfast, food art and beauty birthed “Michnlevi Platters”... a sister company that caters various platters, breakfast charcuterie boards, boxes and grazing tables.

The breakfast we ate and loved as children and those we experienced from around the world as we grew can be beautifully combined when we embrace the possibilities in using the fresh locally grown and sourced produce.
