IS NETFLIX READY FOR A BOUNCE BACK?

Public companies are releasing their Q2 earnings already. Netflix had a terrible Q1, losing 200,000 subscribers.

The company projected a 2,000,000 loss for Q2. They only lost 970,000. And not just that. The company also had a 9% increase in revenue.

The leadership plans to increase revenue and subscription by incorporating ads and low subscription fees.

Reports on the internet suggests they'll be partnering with Microsoft to achieve this.

Furthermore, the company is also working on reducing/eradicating password. If they can achieve this, it should increase revenue.

Netflix might just be in for a major bounce back.

KNOWING YOUR NUMBERS

In running a business, numbers are important. It is wildly believed that numbers tell the story of a business.

A quick story. During one of our coaching sessions this year, a student talked about how her parents built a house and put it up for rent.

She said the venture had not been profitable.

During the session, we broke down the business model and how her parents should be handling the numbers.

She would later discover that her claims of zero profit cannot be substantiated because the numbers were just not there.

Moral of the story: Pay attention to your numbers. It does not matter if you are a small business owner. Know your numbers.

The future of your business might just depend on it.

𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝘂𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆.

Now think about it. The average bear market drops 35%, and right now the market's dropped 20%-25% on the S&P.

Now it's bounced back a bit, but it went all the way down to close to 25%.

Let's say you bought after a 25% decline, and after you bought it went down another 10%.

𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿?

It doesn't really matter if it went down another 10%, 15%, or 20% because ultimately it's gonna go up 200%-500%.

So it doesn't matter whether you bought at -20% or -35% if it's going up many hundred percent-fold in the future.

𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁.

Let's imagine you bought a stock at $50 today, and it's gonna be $200 in the next couple of years.

Will you be happy?

But what if I told you that after you bought it at $50, it dropped to $30 first before going to $200.

Will you STILL be happy?

It's the same thing right, so why do you care that you dropped even more before eventually going up to way above where you bought it right.

Like I always say, as an investor you never want to invest all at once.

You always want to save a bit every month to put a bit into the markets consistently, so if it drops to $30, you can still add in a bit more to keep averaging your cost down. So eventually when it bounces $200, you'll get an even bigger return!

Do not underestimate the power of Dollar Cost Averaging when the market is down

US DOLLAR INDEX UPDATE

The US Dollar Index (DXY) measures the strength of the dollar against six other major currencies. Year-to-date, the DXY has risen by 12%. It rose by 107points lately, trading at an all time high that has not been seen in 20 years.

What does this mean? Investors all over the world are holding their money in dollars as safe-haven. Rising global inflation is a major cause of this.

Furthermore, the Fed continues to hike interest rate. So the dollar generates more returns than most local currencies. This is why dollar is more appealing to global investors.

What is market outlook? A strong DXY performance goes hand-in-hand with a fall in the price of stocks. However, investors will still have to put their money back in the stock market.

It is only a matter of time. When this happens, it will likely trigger a massive bull run.

The might be the best time to buy stocks at a discount.

COMMON STOCK Vs PREFERRED STOCK

There are basically two types of stocks offered by public companies. They are common stock and preferred stock.

Both type of stock in love giving money for equity. However, the two stocks do not carry the same weight.

Commons stock holders are weightier than preferred stock holders. They are close to the operations of the company and have extra privileges. Like being on the company's board and being able to vote to determine corporate decisions.

Preferred stock holders do not have such privileges. They buy equity and make money as the business does well. There is also an upside to being a preferred stock holder.

If a company folds up or get bankrupt, preferred stock holders are paid first. They get first priority before common stock holders.
