📰 Nigeria’s First Olympic Gold Medalist, 🇳🇬Chioma Ajunwa, joins Biopanda Delegation to LASUCOM on Clinical Innovation Partnership
A delegation from Biopanda Rapid Diagnostics, which included Nigeria’s first Olympic gold medalist and Biopanda Ambassador, Chioma Ajunwa, paid a courtesy and strategic partnership visit to LASUCOM on Tuesday, 19 May 2026 to strengthen collaboration in clinical innovation, diagnostics and medical research.
The delegation included Dr. Angela Okemena Unufe-Kennedy, Biopanda Business Development Partner, and other members of the company’s team, who met with the Provost and representatives of the College’s Biomedical Laboratory and Neurology Discipline.
Welcoming the delegation, the Provost of LASUCOM, Prof. Olufemi Idowu, reaffirmed the College’s commitment to partnerships that advance scientific research, improve patient care and strengthen healthcare delivery.
He noted that LASUCOM remains committed to creating an enabling environment for medical research and innovation.
“At LASUCOM, we continue to encourage collaborations that promote clinical excellence, research development and technological advancement in healthcare. Partnerships such as this are important in positioning the College as a hub for impactful medical innovation,” the Provost said.
The Provost further commended members of the Neurology team, including Dr. Adebusola Shakunle, for sustaining research-driven initiatives that continue to project the College positively within the healthcare and academic community
Speaking during the engagement, the Biopanda team commended LASUCOM for its growing reputation in clinical research, innovation and evidence-based medical practice, noting that the College continues to distinguish itself in advancing healthcare solutions in Nigeria.
The team also acknowledged the level of acceptance and use of Biopanda diagnostic products within the institution, describing the partnership as one with strong potential for wider national and global impact.
The visit focused on strengthening collaboration between the College and Biopanda, particularly in rapid diagnĂłstic technology and research support.
It further explored opportunities for future research collaborations, especially in addressing diagnostic challenges in neurological care and other emerging areas of medicine.
The engagement represents another milestone in LASUCOM’s growing network of institutional partnerships aimed at promoting research, technological advancement and improved healthcare solutions.
