The 70th Founder's Day Anniversary of Doherty Memorial Grammar School, Ijero-Ekiti, began on Monday with a visit to the Owa Ajero of Ijero-Ekiti, Oba Adebayo Adewole, at his palace.

*ANNIVERSARY DRESS CODES AND FEW ANNOUNCEMENTS*

Good day everyone. As the anniversary progresses, kindly take note of the following important information as concerning dress codes;

1. For the procession round Ijero tomorrow, a casual dress is advised.
2. ⁠On Tuesday 4th during the Assembly/Roll call event, we will all put on Apron which will be distributed to us
3. ⁠Please note that the customized Anniversary Ankara is strictly for the Variety Nite on Saturday. As such, it is expected that no one wears it before that Saturday
4. ⁠Dress Code for Sunday Thanksgiving Service is White Native with the Muffler/Stole
5. ⁠We are free to wear whatever we want on the other days of the events
6. ⁠Please note that it is compulsory for every Old Student available to register at the registration desk.
7. ⁠Also please note that it is mandatory for every Old Student to wear his/her registration tag always whenever the anniversary event is holding.
8. ⁠Whoever Old Student attending any anniversary event without having the registration tag put on, will not be accorded the preferences typical for an Old Student.
9. ⁠Please note that there would tables set by the registration desk for the Constitution of the Old Students Association, the Constitution of the Endowment Trust and the Anniversary Brochures. *The three documents are to be collected by every Old Student at N1000 each!*
10. ⁠Please do not litter the Doherty premises. There are waste bins round the School Compound. Please use the waste bins.

*PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT FOR MONDAY 3RD FEBRUARY 2025*

It’s such an exhilarating experience coupled with nostalgia today at the Day 1 event as we visited the Palace of HRM Owa Ajero.

The trans-generational story of the impactful involvement of the Doherty dynasty in founding of DMGS was retold!

Tomorrow is Day 2 as we converge at Doherty premises by 10am for the President’s welcome address and as we formally declare the anniversary open.

Next would be the procession of the current Students and all Old Students through designated routes in Ijero. Time for this is 11am. Come one, come all.
