If a child is consistent with this structure, his leaving Secondary School will tally with the prescribed age to enter the University.
Every child has less than 20 years to be a "child" and the rest of his life he becomes an adult.
There is no wisdom rushing children into adulthood.
(Age is a factor in the learning process and it helps in maturity).

Pls encourage ur child/ward 2 go 4 professional courses. There is Federal College of Orthopedic Technology(FECOT) Orthopaedic Hospital Igbobi, Onipanu b/s, Somolu, Lagos, 4 d award of ND & HND. Tis one of d easiest & surest ways of getting jobs these days. FECOT trains students in Prosthetics Orthotics Technology(POT)...Limb fitting technology & Orthopaedic Cast Technology. They are in short supply all over d world. Most of d graduates we produced are engaged in African countries, Dubai, Canada, UK, USA, etc now. Unfortunately those who don't know look down on such courses bcos they r not straight line university degrees ๐ŸŽ“๐ŸŽ“.
ND/HND in POT admits u directly into Univ for B.Sc. , UNIMED,etc. FECOT post-UTME screening comes up October, 2023. Requirements:Min of 120 in UTME, O'L credits in English, Math, Biology, Chemistry & Physics.

*THE CRY OF A UNIVERSITY LECTURER!!!*

Dear secondary school teachers and school owners plus parents, please , help the students and the public by ensuring that students in your schools write examinations by themselves and merit the grades they brandish on their SSCE results.

We are tired of seeing students with A1 in Mathematics but cannot resolve the smallest of fraction. A student with distinctions in Physics and chemistry but knows next to nothing about chemical reactions or energy conversion.

I had to ask some year 1 students to look for a tutorial teacher to help them with JS 3 and SS1 mathematics yesterday. The whole 16 of them in my Engineering class with excellent SSCE results are visibly confused at the sight of any arithmetic work. Their last semester performance betrayed the several A1s and B3s on the WAEC they carry about.

These students you help to acquire grades they can't defend are usually frustrated in the ivory tower. Save them a voyage of pain and regrets in the future by ensuring they are well tutored and allow to prepare and write their examinations unaided.
