IELTS TEST FORMATS

There are two formats to choose from:-
•IELTS Academic Module
•General Training Module

IELTS Academic Module
This module is for test takers wishing to study at undergraduate or postgraduate levels, and for those seeking professional registration.

IELTS General Training Module
This module is for those wishing to migrate to an English-speaking country (Australia, Canada, New Zealand, UK), and for those wishing to train or study at below degree level.

Pls NOTE:
Each organisation sets its own entry requirements. In some cases both Academic or General Training may be accepted. If you are in doubt as to which to take, you should contact the organisation you are applying to in order to check their requirements.

INTRODUCTION TO IELTS

• IELTS, the International English Language Testing System, is designed to assess the language ability of people who want toStudy or Work where English isthe language of communication. This include countries like the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and several European countries.

• So for those going to study both at undergraduate, post graduate or professional levels or planning to migrate permanently/secure job opportunities at the aforementioned places, this test is a prerequisite for entry.

Things you must know about the IELTS:

• The International English Language Testing System, or IELTS, is an international standardized test of English language proficiency for non-native English language speakers. It is jointly managed by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge Assessment English.
• IELTS is recognised and accepted by over 10,000 organisations worldwide, including universities, employers, professional bodies, immigration authorities and other government
agencies.
• IELTS is offered up to four times a month in Nigeria. Tests are held on Saturdays and Thursdays in quite a number of selected centres based on the availability of space and numbers of test-takers.
• IELTS is designed to assess English language skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking respectively.
• There is no such thing as a PASS or FAIL in IELTS. Results are reported as band scores on a scale from 1 (the lowest) to 9 (the highest).
