Today, we spotlight one of our outstanding students, Oluwadamilola Bolorunduro, a 400-level Computer Science student of Lead City University and the founder of CycleWise, formerly known as Secure Cycle.
Oluwadamilola’s journey as an innovator began during Lead City University’s 20th Anniversary Celebration, where she emerged as the first-place winner at the research and innovation pitch challenge, the first event of its kind organised as part of our 20th anniversary celebration. Her innovation earned her recognition, an award, and a cash prize, marking the beginning of a growing journey in technology and innovation.
She went on to represent Lead City University at the Young Innovators Conference held at the University of Ibadan, where she showcased her innovation alongside other young innovators. She was also selected as one of only three students from Lead City University for the 2025 edition of the Bridge Programme by the Afara Initiative, a highly competitive fellowship programme with a 3.5% selection rate.
Her innovation, CycleWise (formerly Secure Cycle), is a context-aware and personalised menstrual health platform designed to provide smarter, more adaptive menstrual health insights and support for users. What started as an idea driven by empathy and problem-solving has continued to evolve into a promising innovation with growing recognition.
Most recently, CycleWise was selected for the Project Innovation to Market (Project I2M) Programme, a major milestone that reflects the potential and impact of the solution.
At Lead City University, we are proud to celebrate students like Oluwadamilola who continue to push boundaries, represent the institution excellently, and demonstrate that innovation can begin right here in our community. We celebrate her journey, resilience, and growing impact, and we look forward to seeing what the future holds for CycleWise.
